The elaboration on DMX 4 channel addressing was VERY helpful! Made understanding fixture assignments much more simple than a dmx newby trying to decipher the manual. I have the 4 De-Fi and live it. Just enough configurations for a fast mobile DJ! Thanks for the upload, and subscribed!
Nice video DJ Mikey MIke, your video help me setup my Obey 4 d-fi 2.4..After I finally got my 4 FreedomPar RGBA sync'd in 4 CH mode, it worked just as you demonstrated with the wired Obey4. Chauvet tech even called me to help..One important thing he says is when syncing the wireless units, sync one, then turn it off before syncing the next unit, then when done turn them all on and play
in most cases yes ! with DMX you can do just about anything but with the Obey 3&4 you are limiter to lights with 3 or 4 channel mode wit RGB as channel 1,2&3 MM
I own the obey 4 and head was spinning when you use it. I have to fly you to my house and program my dmx for me. great video but it was all greek to me
CHAUVET DJ Hi, I'm wondering if u could help me. I recently bought a swarm 5 FX and Obey 4 controller with a DMX cable. But I thought that once u set the light to d001 on the light that you can start using the RGBW/A manually. But it doesn't seem to work. It's just a standard DMX cable I have but was told to get an XLR lighting cable instead. I didn't think there was much of a difference. Is there something I am doing wrong with the set up. I would be very grateful if you could help me with some tips or send me an email address that I could contact for some help please. Kind Regards Dave Lawless.
there are chase modes on the OBAY4. select a fixture. click "Chases" and then use the "preset" buttons to choose the colour chases you require. RED - Red/Green Orange - Green/Blue Yellow - Red/Blue Green - Red/Cyan Cyan - Green/Magenta Blue - Yellow/Blue Purple - White/Blackout Magenta - Color Cycle White - Yellow/Magenta You can then select another fixture and set a different chase. You can then use the "speed" slider and "Fade Time" slider to adjust the effect you are looking for!!
nice video Mikey mike how ipair the obey d-fi 2.4 with freedom colorstrip i been searching your video and can not find nothing to help me in that situation keep doing videos ilove your videos i been learning a lot thank you
thanks MM ill think about the obey 4 cuz i might be getting 1 or 2 par cans!! keep up with the awesome videos... i was also wondering did u do a video with using the par on the obey 4.. if not can u maybe do a do it from scratch video.. thanks so much! DJ Petey Pete
Hey Dj Mikey Mike great videos!!!! I was woundring what i shout do about my dmx controller. I just got the (T 4) 4 channel chase controller, by Elation. I was wondering if i should keep that and get the obey 4 . or return that and get the obey 4. now does the obey 4 only work with the D- FI or is there a splitter u can put on it that runs multi lights cuz i have lights but they r not able to work with a D-FI... do u suggest getting the obey 4. Thanks DJ Petey Pete!
Hi DJ Mikey Mike, can you say if a Casio keyboard with midi can work with the Chauvet Stage Designer 50, and how to program the casio midi controller to the stage designer 50.
hi... nice video. have you used the obey 4 d-fi 2.4? I got to sink with the Fstrip but i don't know what mode i need to set at the Fstrip so it takes commands from the dmx...sorry very new to this and no clear instructions from chauvet
Hey DjMM i just got my obey 4 and two RGB lights with a dmx dip of 10. i tried using it yesterday but i was not getting any single. i was wondering what i should do to get them to turn on with the obey 4. Dj Petey Pete
I love the concept of wireless, the thing i dont like is latency and the bulkiness of the fixtures. wireless products are still in its infancy. not something i would jump into yet. i will give it another year or 2 before going to it.
Hey Mike... thank you for this video... i have the obey 4 2.4 i trying to control 2 Venue Thintri 64 at 3ch each (first fixture ch1 and 2nd fixture ch5) but nothing happens i have no control...
JMD AudioVisualLighting if they are 3ch fixtures the first should be rgb on 123 and rgb on 567 when you select fixture 2 unselect fiture 1 and fixture 2 should now be controlled by the first 3 faders. Make sure your fixtures are set to 3 ch mode
DJ Mikey Mike Susca yes.. but i have no control when i select 1 or 2 fixtures, i just notice i hold down the D-Fi Sync red button on the obey 4 2.4 and the fixtures respond but on random colors, when i release the D-fi button the fixtures stop responding

David Lawless you have a 9channel light and the obay 4 is only 4 channel if you set ch1 to dmx 220-255 you might be able to get the colors to work using ch 2 betweel 010- 255
DJ Mikey Mike Susca is there any possibility you could email me , dlawless101@gmail.com , I'm only starting to get into lighting control and not sure how to set channels , highly frustrated here in Dublin. 🙈

As other comments have said, this was very helpful for a newbie like me. Thank you! It's very exciting to get my lights up and running now.

Dj Petey Pete
DJ Mikey Mike, I love how you explain things bro! I'm pretty stupid with DMX, but the way you keep it simple I actually get it.
I own the obey 4 and head was spinning when you use it. I have to fly you to my house and program my dmx for me. great video but it was all greek to me
@mikeydatechie yes a pc controller can make the fixtures do all advanced options the obey4 is just. another option
Ahh man. I can't believe I never seen this video B4.. This is awesome Mike. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to try this with my Obey 6 controller.

I would of thought so but the advanced features may create different responces
Very nice. Would have wanted to see sound activation.
Just showing you that you can do more advanced thing with an Obey 4 then you might have known... You will get there

nice video Mikey mike how ipair the obey d-fi 2.4 with freedom colorstrip i been searching your video and can not find nothing to help me in that situation keep doing videos ilove your videos i been learning a lot thank you
Not sure but I think swans=scenes. Probably an auto fill error. Just a guess.
cool controller, do you still use it? I might have to pick one up. Peace Mikey Mike
I still have one and its a great little controller if you need something small and compact!
thanks MM ill think about the obey 4 cuz i might be getting 1 or 2 par cans!! keep up with the awesome videos... i was also wondering did u do a video with using the par on the obey 4.. if not can u maybe do a do it from scratch video.. thanks so much!
DJ Petey Pete
and yes it will work with a splitter as well
MM
only by using the buttons but it looks like you need a reg DMX controller or PC style controller

CHAUVET has a new Obey 4 controller with BUILT IN wireless DMX,
hi... nice video.
have you used the obey 4 d-fi 2.4?
I got to sink with the Fstrip but i don't know what mode i need to set at the Fstrip so it takes commands from the dmx...sorry very new to this and no clear instructions from chauvet
I would love to have that over lay!! :))
It all depends on the lights you are using the Obey 4 is not compatable with all lights
MM
yep maybe so :) thanks
MM
they r RGB lights but not a name brand got them on eBay for $33.00 each and they r a 10 dmx dip. dmx in and out can changes colors. 7 different colors
Great Video :)

MM am i able to make one light to be cyan and the next one white then cyan again then white? with the obey 4
Can the Obey 4 control 4 channel fixtures that are not Chauvet?
what kind of lights are they?
MM
how many par lights will the obey 4 control at one time
hey mikey will obey 4 work with the mini 4 bar 2.0? im having trouble getting all my fixtures one colo. im new to dmx.
swans?
Hey Mike... thank you for this video... i have the obey 4 2.4 i trying to control 2 Venue Thintri 64 at 3ch each (first fixture ch1 and 2nd fixture ch5) but nothing happens i have no control...

JMD AudioVisualLighting try it wired first
How do I link the lights to the Obey 4? If they've been linked before, what setting on the lights put them back in response mode to the Obey 4?
I believe DMX 001 Chanel and dMX mode if I understand correctly
Would this work with slim par 56's?
opps!

Its not the right controller for this light you need a 9channel controler
this controller is a lot easier to use and you dont have to do any programming to make the show look good,
intro music to loud
