The Itano Circus missiles. My second or third most favorite PP weapon. A very good utility weapon. I most often use it to pick off surface modules when needed. Sometimes I also use them to slow down small ships I have trouble hitting with my usually fixed main battery.
Pack hounds arent the most friendly fire weapons. Most friendly fire likely weapons are ion/reverb mines because you dont see them and npc pilots will often fly into them and suddenly you are fighting against both factions. Truly op effects tho.
One important aspect of the missiles has not been mentioned though: their minimum arming distance of 500m. If your target is within 500m, the missiles won't arm and do no damage. You need to keep at least 500m distance to your target.
These videos are absolutely fantastic. Thank you. I hope we get more, both ED and Nuclear Option. You have a nostalgic vibe, and it's got legs. Best of success to you.
The one question I need to ask is...what is the minimum arming distance? I remember being told once that under 400 m, the missiles will impact but not actually detonate. Torpedos I was told, had...something like a 900 m arming distance. I think. I cannot find sources for this information but I remember seeing this discussed by many
In my own gameplay I can confirm the arming restrictions for torpedoes. I do not know for sure if missiles have these restrictions, or when they activate. I have not noticed it during typical gameplay.
Presently I'm using a Krait MKII with two size two rail's on the bottom and one on top in the center. They take out the shield's and do hull damage really really REALLY well. Then liking being up close and personal, I utilzie dumb dumbs in a carpet bombing way. Dumb dumb's also work really really REALLY well prior to having to go inside. I for whatever reason, am thinking about switching to pack hound's. But if I'm hearing you correct, pack hounds are in a sense heat seeking, thus worthless in air to ground; Correct?
I'm very happy that someone still makes these helpful videos in these days.

It's a fun module in small doses but rapidly outstays it's welcome. I can't be doing with heading back to the station to rearm every 5 minutes.

I do love my packhounds but barely ever use them... you have inspired me to try them again!

@@DryHeatAndSand It's 500m. Within that range, the missiles hardly do any damage.
