I was thinking that too but it's probably because the dad is the one making 'offers' so he made himself responsible for the damage. Not a lawyer just an avid watcher so that's my guess lol but I bet she could've went after the 19yo if she wanted to but dad's richer lol

@@jennifercowley8970, You're exactly right. The father is on the deed as the owner and therefore also on the insurance for the property. If someone does damage to another person's property while at your property or is hurt on your property, you as the property owner are responsible for all damages. She sued the parents who can legally turn around and sue their children, but we all know they are the type of people that don't think they should be held accountable for anything they or their children do so that will never happen. Heck, they probably went home and told their kids to do it again, just not in front of the cameras, lol. They just strike me as that kind of parents.

Dad is asked why his 19yrld kid is shooting arrows at someone's property: "THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE BUILDING 🤷‍♀️"
Mom sees video evidence of her 19yrld kid damaging property: "OUR PRIVACY IS INVADED!"
Mom hears there's 15 holes, instead of two: "WHERE'S THE VIDEO EVIDENCE?!"
Dad's opinion of the $200 estimate to fix damages: "I COULD DO IT MYSELF, I WOULD NEED $1 TO $5 PER HOLE 🤷‍♀️"
Dad right before he exists: "IF I WAS YOUNGER I WOULD SUE FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT FOR VIDEO RECORDING LOL"

It’s a property issue. It really doesn’t matter who shot the arrow. An object was allowed to leave their property and enter the neighbours properly and cause damage. The video speaks volumes: defendants need to be responsible for their son’s dangerous habits.
Archery is a sport that utilizes a potentially dangerous weapon. You can kill or seriously injure someone easily if you aren’t safe. This son needs to get a legit target, a backstop, and stop damaging other people’s property. Judge is right - the kid is being a pinhead.

Some cities have ordinances which require certain requirements for target shooting with any weapon. If you’re outside city limits then your only requirement is to watch what direction you’re shooting because you’re responsible for any damage to life and livestock. So yes, if you want to shoot a gun in your backyard then you can as Lon as you know the laws. If you want to practice with a bow and arrow then use arrows with changeable arrowheads and use ones with suction cup or magnet ends. Same with darts.

I think that's the REAL problem the plaintiff's have here. Its not about the money to repair a couple of dents in the siding. Its the PRINCIPLE of the matter, because they CAUGHT these boys, RED-HANDED, no less, shooting arrows into the siding of their newly refurbished building. The two boys DO NOT apologize for what they did. They DO NOT try to make it right with the plaintiffs. Instead, their Mom is calling the plaintiff a liar and saying PROVE IT, that my precious baby did this to your building and Dad is saying he will fix it because he wants to be cheap and not pay $200 to have it done PROPERLY and he's whining about the lady's cameras recording part of his back yard. And they can't even be bothered to bring their child to court to teach him the lesson of "Don't damage someone else's property. Instead, they are mollycoddling him and making excuses and trying to fix the problem FOR HIM when the lady has it on video tape, plain as day, that these two little archers are damaging her property MULTIPLE TIMES. I'd be angry too. That is NOT teaching your son integrity, madam.

He may have worked in contracting on his but that doesn't mean he is licensed bonded and insured. What if he fixed it wrong? She has recourse against your contractor's license and insurance if it's fixed incorrectly.

I remember when I hit a parked car in the parking lot and left a note on their car.
There was a superficial scratch on their car so I thought nothing of it. When my insurance Co called me talking about they're going to pay $1000+ for the repairs I just about fainted.
I vowed never to leave a note the next time shall that happen again🥴🤷🏿‍♀️

How can the dad be held responsible tho when the "kds" are 19??

Why is not the 19 year old paying for the damages. He can work now.
Parents who beat their children are the same as these type of parents. Spoiling your son equals to ruining his soul.
I hope he grows up and realizes how life works before is too late.

Archery is a safe sport when done responsibly. Why else would it be in the Olympics? This is a stupid kid who got hold of a potential weapon and acted stupidly unsafe. He could have done it with knives or axes if he really wanted to. It has way more to do with the kid than the sport.
