Initially I was thinking F-15 and F-111 but now you mention the Fulcrum it does have some of the MiG-29s characteristics. Particularly with the dual ramp intakes mounted quite far back and the large LERX.
The versatility of an F/A-18, the speed and air dominance of an F-15, the nuclear deterrence of a Mirage 2000N, and unparalleled max range. AND it's swing wing! Killer plane.
This really reminds me of the obscure A-5 Vigilante nuclear carrier bomber. It’s my favorite plane, and I love it so much because even though it is technically a bomber, it likely became the base design for iconic fighter planes such as MiG-25/31, F-15, and many more
Now we are talking. This is your first fighter design that is not too small. Loved it and hope that developers deliver a better sweep wings support. Cheers!
I would love if you would attempt something akin to the XF-84H Thunderscreech for your prop-punk series, see how far you can push that style of turbo-prop platform. Love this plane btw, always have a special place in my heart for ground pounders.
Incredible, these designs are great, especially for a smaller creator, I love the commercials for your videos, they add a surprisingly large amount of entertainment and are pretty funny. And thanks for including the name of the music your using.
It's like the holy demigod baby of the F-14 and F-15. God, I wish I could send you back in time and have you give Grumman and McD/Doug a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge, nawmean?
Nice inlet design! I do believe that vortex lift won’t happen until significantly more AoA is pulled than needed for level flight. Vortex lift as seen in delta wings and highly swept wings creates a good amount of drag that you’re not experiencing. You can tell because you can supercruise.
The vortex lift winds up with extra drag because you’re pulling a good amount of air with the aircraft compared to a laminar lift scenario. It takes energy to produce and maintain the vortices, which is drag that requires more thrust. Anyway, good design, but I wanted to correct what could be a misconception for you or your viewers.
*reads title* "Nuclear Capable Fighter Bomber" *sees thumbnail of a twin engine swing wing aircraft* Oh your doing the F-111 "The FB-04 "Halbard" oh...
had no idea that i needed a modernized plane that was the son of a f-111 and an a-5, but here we are, with me drooling like an idiot in front of the monitor
@Messier 82 I absolutely love these videos, the way you create aircraft on this Building Sim is just fascinating! In truth I have a design of my own for a Aircraft that should have been a second version of an Airliner that never deserved to be retired. The design is as realistic as I could get it, I was wondering if I sent it too you (somehow) could you build it on Flyout? Keep doing what you're doing Chief!
Maaaan, it took me way longer to realize this was an alternate-universe 60's fighter bomber than I should like to admit, especially knowing that's how all your builds fit into history. (I think...)
Interesting, I'll have to watch what happens to this game. Have you considered doing a homage to the Ling-Temco-Vought XC-142 tilt-wing? It was intended for carrier onboard delivery and tactical transport. A modern re-interpretation might be able to get rid of the rear prop/rotor.
looks like the f-111 if the 60's era Soviets designed it, about the same size, not much different except twin verticals. probably could do with a lifting body to help it with payload carry weight.
Hey Messier! You better prepare for a long comment because oh boy... Ive recently come up with an idea: What if during the 1960s to 1970s the Soviet Union designed a high altitude interceptor capable of reaching the edge of space (basically almost a space dogfighter) to intercept American Rockets, for example ICBMs or Space Mission Rockets to slow down American progress in the space race. What kind of design features would such a fighter need? Things like Altitude adapting engines that are capable of even reaching such heights, high energy density fuel, thermal protection and a pressurerized cockpit are obvious, but id like to know about the specifcs, like dimensions, wing configuration and how it would differ from a regular fighter of that time. I think thatd be an interesting concept to explore and maybe even build.
I LOVE heavy fighters! Something about heavy fighters just flicks a switch in my brain. I haven’t watched the vid yet I just wanted to get this out of me, but it will probably be an excellent video! Edit: to put this fighters size into perspective, its wing span is more than twice as long as an average two story house is tall (25 feet).
Fun engaging video idea: a Cold War inspired aircraft meant for ultra superiority. Your design but it is made to be better at air to air then anything in it’s time of 1954-1967 (specific times Ik)
Looks like a f15 and a f111 had a child
Absolutely beautiful
Absolutely!
Those wings with the sawtooth notches at the wing root give me MiG-23MLD vibes though...
The F115.
XD@@thebanditman5663
Wouldn't that be an F14?..
As an avid M82 fan and not very good reader, I kept wondering when this thing was gonna get nuclear engines.
One day.... that would be fun
@@messier82ac
Could your next video be the Vickers victory bomber or the TSR2?
It looks like a MiG-29 had a baby with an Aardvark. Love you Messier ❤
100%
True
Stole the words out of my mouth.
I don’t really see the fulcrum, but 100% vaaaaaarrrrrkkkkk
Initially I was thinking F-15 and F-111 but now you mention the Fulcrum it does have some of the MiG-29s characteristics. Particularly with the dual ramp intakes mounted quite far back and the large LERX.
It’s always a good hour when messier uploads
General Dynamics called, they want their strike bomber back.
In all seriousness though, well done.
The versatility of an F/A-18, the speed and air dominance of an F-15, the nuclear deterrence of a Mirage 2000N, and unparalleled max range. AND it's swing wing! Killer plane.

That is a interesting plane.
Same reference here. Similar size btw
It's a super F-111 Aardvark and you can't change my mind.
basically A F-111 Refit.
Now we are talking. This is your first fighter design that is not too small. Loved it and hope that developers deliver a better sweep wings support. Cheers!
It's a gorgeous plane. Reminds me of the F-111 a lot, but with a decent air to air capability. It's like a 60s Strike Eagle.
My first impression was a F-14 swing wing, the rear half (fuselage) of a F-18 with the engines from a Mig 25/35 rammed up in there 😂
4:57 30 mm is just brutal, anything that gun touches it will obliterate it
Funny that the FB-04 Halberd would have been an entirely plausible nutty defense project during the Cold War.
This is the most gorgeous design I've seen yet to come out of Flyout. Wow.
This look like a fighter version of the b1, well done.
Seems to be the fighter Robert McNamara wanted the F-111 to be.
A variable-sweep wing fighter-bomber? Damn, that thing is a supersized Panavia Tornado!
Epic build. Awesome job. You rock, Messier!
I would love if you would attempt something akin to the XF-84H Thunderscreech for your prop-punk series, see how far you can push that style of turbo-prop platform.
Love this plane btw, always have a special place in my heart for ground pounders.
WHAT?!
This guy could be a real aeronautics engineer hes realy good👍
Honestly if this wasnt made in flyout, then I would think it was real.
Incredible, these designs are great, especially for a smaller creator, I love the commercials for your videos, they add a surprisingly large amount of entertainment and are pretty funny. And thanks for including the name of the music your using.
I DREAM of the day Flyout releases. I have gotten inspired by all of your videos. Love ya! ❤
The Halberd was, however, retired due to insane cost and its ability to drive ground crews insane.
This thing probably costs more than many nations entire military budget XD
This sh*t is awesome, good job on designing this!
It's like the holy demigod baby of the F-14 and F-15. God, I wish I could send you back in time and have you give Grumman and McD/Doug a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge, nawmean?
I need a compilation of all these cinematic montages.
Top notch filming and editing capabilities.
Alternate title: Schizophrenic former McDonnell-Douglas engineer develops a nuclear capable F-14, F-15, F-18 and F-111 hybrid with MiG-25 engines
yooo new upload, havent watched yet but i know its gonna be good! thank you messier!
ps thank you for the swing wing!
really good video man i like all of your flyout videos, the timelaps crash counter makes them funny
Very nice! Cutting edge info-tainment :)
Kinda miss the regular flight section at the end though.
Ya basically just an improved F-111 with some anger. Really cool!
I can hear the highway to the danger zone riff in my head lol
I feel the need…

Its just a big f-14, very cool
hmmmmmm, twin engine, twin seat, swing wing, 60's fighter / nuclear capable bomber? soundds a little familiar
It looks oddly similar to something I built in KSP quite a while ago, good to see that my (uninformed) design choices happened to make sense!
Im so excited to watch this video
Looks like a tornado and an aardvark had a baby
Very cool, looks like a cross between an F-14 and an F-111
this is just a vark on steroids and i love it
Cool, you made a 'Vark with a Tomcat nose! (in other words, a better looking 'Vark)
I did not expect to feel interested in a nuclear capable swing fighter bomber after watching this video.
Seeing an upload from you in my feed is an instant highlight of my day
its like the hornet, vark and eagle had a child!
your realistic planes look like if you gave the tail of a soviet jet to a western jet
Therapist: Don’t worry, better F-111 isn’t real, it can’t hurt you.
Better F-111:
Looks beautiful
Literally any air force with this plane: *Starts getting ideas to invade everyone*
2:48 I can not unsee the penguin!
Love your videos!!
this thing flies at 12.3 br for sure..
warthunder thing btw
rank VIII too
That is amazeballs I cat wait to see it when you can actually fight against your own designs etc
It would be really cool if once Flyout is released you could mod these planes into DCS
Cant wait for this to release so i can recreate all of my fighters from Kerbal Space Program
the first prototype looked like a finless f-111
This is the kind of game that I like to watch others play, but wouldn't mess with myself.
Hi Messier Love your vids!
Wow. epic design! great video! I cant wait to pass this on to some of my fellow airplane nerds!
Love your videos!

I disinend a plane like this in my school it was called the FAB 1 flapjack
This is the multi-role plane the F-14 should have been. Love u M82
You should make a heavy fighter/night bomber similar to Bf 110 or the baufighter
Yes! Or the P-61, let’s not forget
The aardvark if it met a MiG 29
ON STEROIDS AND REDBULL

Hear me out, stealth shaping would make this thing even scarier
Ah yes, because the 70 foot long, super sonic, nuke tossing fighter-bomber wasn't enough, now we gotta make it invisible too.

it is basically the f-14 the f-15 and the f-111 combined 👌
Congratulations on an F-111.
Mixed with a little bit of Tornado
Where I left off 8:19
Come in here, dear boy, have a M82, you're gonna go far
from a top-down view this aircraft reminds me of some sort of prehistoric sea reptile
ur videos are getting better and better
Awesome All Round Military Jet!

you just modernized the F-111, I love it
Absolutely amazing jet design 👏
When a F-14 Tomcat and A-5 Vigilante love each other very much you get a FB-04 Halberd
Yeah they should definitely hire him!
I must say, truly one of the fighters of all time.
Hey Messier!

its like a swing-wing A-5 Vigilante. it even has the internal bay for nukes.

so basically the f-111

F-111 and F/A-18 had a baby and it is beautiful
Looks like a general dynamics designed tornado
If an F-111 was a hangar bunny with a few F-15s
Something like the u2 spy plane would be cool. Super big wing area and extremely high altitude limit etc
Looks like a mig29 and an f111! Looks sick
Ngl, engines of the F-15 with the body of the F-111
