It brings back so much memories. I went to Toronto 13 years ago visiting my sister - who is still living there with her family. From distillery district to Yonge Dundas Square. I was there for two weeks, even went up the CN Tower. There was a boat restaurant called Captain John' near the water front - it can be seen from my sister's apartment. Toronto is beautiful and the city is just so orderly. Thank you so much for this video Renata :)
You wont recognize it today about 2009 it was big construction site lots of high rises number two after Dubai I left toronto for one year at 2011 came back beginning of 2013 it was changed so much But for preserving old historical buildings even if its not that great
Mars Channel Yeah, I can imagine! My husband said the same thing, but he was there way before you... I had no idea it was not long ago that Toronto was a big construction site!
Spring through to the end of summer, we have festivals galor from small localized niche of some obscure market to huge cultural street festivals that forces the closure of major streets.
Renata Pereira I don't think there's any one or five right answers. Our festivals vary to match just about everyone's tastes. My personal favorite is Salsa on St. Clair in my old neighborhood where you can sample south American cuisine and dance away to Latin music. Taste of the Danforth in Greektown is probably our biggest cultural street festival that closes off Danforth across 4 major intersections. Caribana has become a huge event celebrating Caribbean music and dance through a big parade of colourful costumes and floats full of steel drummers. There's the Beaches Jazz Fest that closes off Queen east. Woofstock goes to the dogs outside the St Lawrence Market. We have a number of smaller festivals gaining popularity too like the Mac&Cheese festival in Liberty Village. Taste of India, Taste of Italy, Chinatown festival, Pride... ...theres too many to name and even more I probably don't know about.
Renata Pereira I follow BlogTO on Facebook, they do lots of posts on upcoming events from these large festivals to smaller ones. Could be a good place to start.
It was nice to see my city in your channel. You mentioned about not understanding how you can be able to tell the weather by looking at the top of the Canada Life Insurance building. It's simple: If the lights are going in an upward direction, it means that the temperature will rise, if it goes downwards, the temperature will get colder. It is easier to see at night.
Renata Pereira Glad to help you understand. We just discovered your channel and love watching the different places and are impressed that it is both Portuguese and English. I am married to a Brazilian and we just visited Brazil this past May. Hugs, Eric
How fun!!! Hope you guys had a great time! Here we're the opposite: I'm the Brazilian married to a Canadian from Calgary! Love your country! :) Yes, I like doing in both languages as English gives me a wider exposure, but at the same time I love talking directly to Brazilians (plus there are some peculiarities that a simple translation would not work, so some videos are slightly different...) :) Big hugs and all the best!

Renata Pereira yes we agree about the peculiarities between the two languages. As an English as a Second Language teacher, I have seen many cases of translations gone bad. We have been married for 14 years and I have had the chance to visit Brazil six times now. We look forward to seeing your videos.

Saw your vlog on my home city of Birmingham UK. I’m heading to Toronto next year alongside NYC. Great Vlog and great info alongside a beautiful smile 😊
Amazing shots of some glorious architecture!!! Enjoyed going into the market and doing some brief window shopping along the PATH. With such cold temperatures, I would think most of Canada would build underground pathways to get around without braving the cold! Brilliant idea and another wonderful video! Well done!
The building with the "weather forecast" you were talking about is actually true! I have never seen it change colours but when the lights are moving up it means the temperature is getting warmer. If they are going down it means that it's getting colder! Super cool, loved the video!
+heywuddupmel Thank you very much and thanks for the info! I'm glad I got it right then! I didn't know about it moving up or down, that's nice! So I was very lucky, as it was moving up!!!! :)
Oh, thank you so much! I suffer from the opposite problem... I've always documented toooooooo much and never did anything with all the images I shot... I wish I had started creating videos when I first started traveling, as after sometime you forget what you captured...

Renata Pereira Thank you! Also, have you been in Toronto long enough to experience the winter? If so, how is it? I really want to move there when I grow up, hopefully for my Master's in Software Engineering...
No, I myself have never experienced the winter in Toronto, but I have friends in town and my husband is Canadian, so I have a pretty good idea of what it's like. Temperatures can reach -40. Even during fall and spring, there's a chilling wind early in the morning and in the evening. The path that I showed in the video makes it easier as you can avoid some of the cold. I have friends who live and work near the subway and the path, so they rarely experience the cold on their day to day. Cheers!
Hello! Thank you for making these videos! Truly appreciate them. I wanted to ask if you remember what times you visited these places in Toronto. I noticed the places seem to be not too crowded. Would be nice to go at times like that.

Well done! I grew up in NY State and Toronto was my nearest "big city" so I have been there often....my best friend still lives there most of the year(and in Florida in winter)...where were you a news anchor?
+Tiago Caldas Thank you very much! In August it is warm, high 20s, low 30s, but temperatures can reach 40 C (I have a friend who lives there). In September it normally stays in the 20s but cools down to the teens at night. Cheers!
But in the summer it can to be +45 C in the summer as we had in 2018. The two extremes of weather which really never happened before and that what is means "climate change".
+Gencturk92 Where are you flying from? I'd suggest to check the cost of plane tickets and see which route would be better in terms of price... From Alberta you can also drive to Vancouver (I did that a couple of times). It's a beautiful drive, but from Calgary it takes about 10 hours. In Alberta make sure you go to Banff and Lake Louise, my favorite places :)
Renata Pereira Im from London, UK. Yeah, this year USA or Canada is on my list, if I like it in Canada I might move there in the future. Toronto, Alberta and Vancouver are the places I want to see but if I had skipped Toronto and go straight to Vancouver or Alberta, is that a good choice ? Yeah, Banff and Jasper are beautiful places, I have to see Alberta more than anywhere else in this world along with Calgary and Edmonton. The prices for the tickets is not a concern really but always good to go cheaper.
I think it depends a lot on what type of city attracts you most. Toronto is very cosmopolitan, very international and it's a vibrant cultural center. Vancouver is more geared towards nature, with amazing outdoor activities. It doesn't get as cold in Vancouver as it does in the rest of the country either. Alberta is a mix of both, with Calgary and Edmonton as lively cities and in the mountains you find all kinds of unique experiences. My husband is from Calgary, that's also why I've been all over Canada. Any way you choose to schedule your trip, I think you'll really enjoy. Canada is very nice!

I just answered your question in the Niagara Falls video, but summarizing it here, I'd choose the warmer months, maybe between April and October unless you want to see the falls frozen. The last week of July should be good in terms of weather (maybe even too hot, not sure), but as it's high season expect higher prices. But if that's your chance to visit it, I'd not miss! Enjoy the trip! :)
+Renata Pereira i love all your video. We're visiting my sister in Toronto on the last week of July. Hope the weather will be good, not so warm. Thank you for taking time to answer my question. Sure, we will visting niagara falls...I fall in love with your video.😍
+halfvolley11 Wow!!! That's a great compliment! I'm honored!!! Yes, I'm from Brazil, but have starting learning English since a very young age, still in Brazil. Now living in the USA it helps losing/minimizing the accent! :)
Renata Pereira I am glad you are doing great over there. To be honest you sound like Canadian/Californian. I mean New York and South and most of America have their local accents.
Cybele Albuquerque Obrigada!
Keep thinking positively and you will 😍❤️. I’m from a small town in Brazil and never thought I could travel the world. But study hard, work hard, and good things will happen 🙌🙌
Oba!!!!
Ion Stefana, your right as we did not add all subtitles at the beginning. We have take noted and will get them done sometime early October. Thank you for bringing that to our attention and we work as fast as possible to bring you and others the experience you expect.
Oi, Jacob! Sou sim!
Bjs e boa sorte!

The building for the weather works with those light rings you see, upward light motion means warmer weather, downwards means colder temperatures.

Thank you soooo much!!! Hope you had a wonderful time! :)
One more subscriber! Great Channel!
+Carlos Selva Thanks a million!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Renata you have a pure American/Canadian accent. How did you get that? I thought you are from Brazil.
That's funny, as my husband is Canadian and we lived in Los Angeles for many years. I guess that explains! :) :) :)
Renata Pereira It all makes sense. Californians and Candians have the same accent.
I loved your video, Renata. Where are you from?
Thank you so much! I'm Brazilian! Based on your name, I believe you too? :)
Também sou, o seu inglês é perfeito. Pretendo ir para Toronto próximo ano. Espero poder ver mais vídeos seus.
Cybele Albuquerque Obrigada!
+Renata Pereira obrigada, vou acompanhar sim.
Cybele Albuquerque Super obrigada! bjs!
+Renata Pereira Whats the music in the background at 1:30?
The music is called Confident Rock, it's a royalty free music by Pond5

Hello Ashley 6963, good for you. An excellent way to practice a foreign language. Thank you for picking our videos! 😃
Hi, What the hell Renata, there are certain vlogs that do not have subtitles and Romanian language, which makes me avoid them
Ion Stefana, your right as we did not add all subtitles at the beginning. We have take noted and will get them done sometime early October. Thank you for bringing that to our attention and we work as fast as possible to bring you and others the experience you expect.

Kanada, warga negara dan pemerintahannya sangat teratur
Ha ... beberapa mungkin mengatakan tidak. Tapi relatif dengan negara lain ya… negara besar dengan populasi kecil. Pernahkah Anda mengunjungi?😀👍
@@RenataPereiraTV thanks mrs gordon
Toronto is the 5 largest City artet Mexico City,New York,Los Angeles,Chicago.
Chicago is bigger if you consider the metro area, but here I'm comparing cities to cities, and Toronto is the 4th.
