The cool thing about Canada is that the smaller areas are very white/european and their own thing, but when you go to a metropolis like Toronto or Montreal, you get a very multicultural experience. I dig it, especially the asian scene. Great food, polite people, and a community that seems to appreciate Canadian nature almost more than Canadian born folks. Every cool nature-centric place I visit, I see a lot of asian people. I want to say "hey! welcome and thanks for visiting and enjoying our country"
+Polyfusia That's so nice you feel this way! I also had the impression that Canadians are very welcome and that they enjoy welcoming multiple cultures. I agree that it really enriches the experience. And sometimes you can also see that in some small towns. My husband for instance was born in a small town in Alberta, and he always tells me that he had Asian food since a very young age, as there were several Asian restaurants around! It must be awesome growing up like this! :)
My MOM and sister are coming to visit Canada for the first time this summer. I love Toronto. i moved to Canada 13 years ago. lived in Montreal and Calgary and now I am here. I love this place and this is where I am gonna remain. Thanks for the videos..I posted them on facebook to "entice" them prior to their arrival.
I have enjoyed watching your videos. My husband is canadian but moved to England when he was 7 years old. Now our children are older to appreciate it we are planning our holiday there next year. So these videos have been most useful
That's so great to hear, thank you! And what a coincidence, my husband is Canadian too ;) We live in the USA though. We are planning more Canada videos, especially as next year they have the big 150 celebration! Hope you have an amazing time in Canada!
You did a fantastic job on both videos : professional, well presented, lovely voice narrating , very calming and peaceful in many aspects ! Your videos are really representing this beautiful city as the ambassador to the international tourism and immigration! The best of the best ;-)) thank you so much Renata ! Please keep producing more of these types of video relating more of many other districts of the city of Toronto ! We will keep waiting for more of them ;-)))
Great video! Loved the views from the CN tower. But I especially enjoyed the inside of Casa Loma. It is amazing to me to see such beautiful craftsmanship and all the details that were so common so many years ago and so frequently absent in today's buildings.
Quick FYI- for all those who follows the X-Men film franchise, this is where the backdrop was used for Professor Charles “Xavier’s School for gifted youngsters” mutant academy building inside and out. Another reason worth checking out! 🤗☺️
If you ever do visit Toronto again, try visiting the unbeaten paths. Like the parks, we have North America Largest Urban park. Should try the different malls, and visit the Ontario Science Center.
Fun fact! Casaloma is where they filmed for the Xavier mansion for The X-men movies and Toronto is "Raccoon city" in the Resident Evil movies. :P Many more movies were filmed here and you can spot familiar scenes. Toronto is often used to film American cities in big name movies. :P
Really enjoyed the vlog of Toronto.Me and my wife were due to go to Toronto in 2020 due to the Pandemic we did not go.We hope to go maybe 2021 or 2022 as we have some good friends there. Thanks for a nice insight to Toronto.Always look forward to where you are travelling to.Keep up the good work as always the vlogs are always informative.Where are you going to in 2021.
Thank you. Well we are getting close to it being safe to travel...lets hope the vaccination work and people help to control. We are itching to travel too.
That's awesome! Thanks!!! I wrote about my experience too: renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-1/ & renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-2/ . Hope it helps with your planning! All the best and enjoy this beautiful city! :)
Thanks for stopping by my channel & I am so glad that you did! You have some great videos here & I love the informative aspect. I am actually from the Toronto area myself but work out of Alberta these days.Subscribed & can't wait to see more!
+TL Travel That's so kind of you! Thanks a lot! I just subscribed to your channel too! I'm now overseas shooting some more videos and plan to post a lot more in January! :) Hope you are enjoying the holiday season!
Renata, we'll done! You showed off downtown in a very slow manner. I didn't have to keep rewinding your two videos here and there. Please come back to my city 🍁❤🍁
The pro tip for the CN tower is actually to go 45 minutes before the sunset. This way you can enjoy the day time view as well as the night time view with one single ticket.
+chilibean That's great to hear! I'm glad I could help somehow! I also detailed the experience here: renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-1/ renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-2/ Have a wonderful trip! :)
We are traveling to Niagara falls and want to see Toronto City also this coming October. I'm so glad I found your channel. Very helpful! I narrow down my list I want to see, so thank you! Have a blessed day!
lol!!!! Oh, yeah! I was there in Mississauga too. My husband wanted to check out the nearby cities so we drove to Mississauga and Oakville. Very nice! :)
+Katarzyna Popiolkiewicz Great to hear I helped you somehow! Did you check my other one in Toronto as well? ua-cam.com/video/R9oRzV8Jg3k-/v-deo.html It might be helpful! You missed Hanlans Point Beach, one of only two, legal, clothing optional beaches in Canada (the other being Wreck Beach in Vancouver). You don't have to go in the buff, and I know it's not for everyone, but it's a beautiful way to spend the day as its on the Toronto Islands, a short ferry ride to the Hanlans Point dock, and you're there. There's a 5 kilometre paved road that runs the entire length of the island, it's terrific for cycling, jogging, nature walks (there's actually dozens of islands all linked together, and is essentially one very large public park). If you take the Centre Island ferry, there's an amusement park, mostly for children, and beautiful petting zoo/farm, restaurants, and bicycle rental. At the opposite end of the island (east end) there's a yacht club, and hundreds of beautiful cottages where people live all year round, but no cars are allowed, except for service vehicles, so it's a quiet, quaint life. It started as an artist colony, and remains so to this day!
+Renata Pereira if you come back, I'd be happy to give a guided tour! I've lived here all my life, and know this city inside out, there's so much more to see! Fear not, I'm sincere, and gay, so no worries of anything but pure friendship! Lol! Glad you liked it here, if you do return, let me know at ericlbird@hotmail.com, I'd love to show you things off the beaten path that most tourists don't get to see. Seems almost everyone wants to see only the major attractions, like the ones you mentioned, but like most big cities, there's so much more to see, and having lived here 46 years, I know so many great places to go/eat/explore. Nice talking with you Renata, and thanks for the message 😊
+Tj Devereaux Thank you so much!!!! That would be awesome! I already saved your e-mail in my contacts. I don't have plans to go back in the next months, but you never know... :) Enjoy your weekend!
Wonderful video, very well done, good research and comments. May I add that on the CN tower they have added an outside walk, where you can walk around with a guide all tight up with with safety ropes. It is not for every one only the bravest. Christof from Brampton a city near the airport with the largest Indian population outside India.
:) Saudos y buen viaje!
+Falah Uddin That's great to know, thank you so much! If you'd like more info, take a look at these 2 blog posts I wrote about Toronto: renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-1/ renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-2/ Hope they're helpful to you! Enjoy!
This is a really nice video I enjoyed it, but you missed out on things like kensington market and the west end, next time you are in toronto you should TOTALLY check it out.... The west end is where its at!
You totally captivated me, Renata! I love your videos. Do you live in Austin? If you do, I'd like to meet you and get some advice on how to do wonderful videos like yours. Where will you go next? :-)
+Monica Rivera Thank you very much, Monica! Yes, I live in Austin, but spend most of the month out of town. I'm in San Antonio this week and next week I'm off to Brazil!
Maybe when you're back from Brazil? I'm a novice travel blogger and have lots to learn from veterans like you. Please contact me if you feel you can help. Gracias y buen viaje!
+chichirrrrrrrrrrrrrr I was there in May last year and I arrived at 9:30am. It was great! Don't know if it would work during high season too, but I think it's a pretty safe bet. I wrote more about the experience here: renatapereira.tv/item/2-days-in-toronto-day-2/ - Hope it helps your planning! :)
+Martin Ovando Hi, Martin! The app was called "See Toronto", but I was just looking for it at the app Store and could not find it anymore... It's not available to download at the original link either (www.mytorontomeeting.com/Visitor/see-toronto-mobile-app.aspx - you will see an error message). I guess they took it down... I deleted the app after the visit as I run out of space on my iphone... It was recommended to me by Tourism Toronto and I found it very useful, can't believe it's not available anymore... Tourism Toronto now suggests these: www.seetorontonow.com/mobile-app/ - Hopefully they're good too!
+Quintin Clarkson I liked the public transportation. We stayed in North York and caught the subway all the way to downtown. It worked well, and together with the path, we went everywhere! It would be great if there was wifi inside the trains though... Yeah, both cities are in my plans. I've been to both several times before I started creating the videos... Need to return now! :)
That's awesome. I'm currently trying to decide which of the three to move to, which isn't made any easier by their each having numerous unique strong points. Perhaps you could do a comparison of some kind. I'm sure they'll get around to offering Wi-Fi soon. My city (Cape Town) is busy with that at the moment. I'm sure you could get some great footage here. Have you ever been to South Africa?
Yes! I've been to Johannesburg, Pretoria and Sun City. I even have some video (not like this though, but I'll eventually post on Facebook as they're more simple). I really like your country! I had a great time! In terms of public transportation, Toronto offers the best system out of the 3, but winters can be brutal. Overall Vancouver has the best weather out of the 3 (not too hot during summer, not too cold during winter - I've experienced both). In Calgary you have both sides, it can also be very cold, but rarely as cold as Toronto. Summers are never too hot as in Toronto either (I also experienced both). Bus/train stops are in the open though. If you are downtown, several buildings are interconnected, which also helps. All 3 cities have nice attractions and a great quality of life. Calgary is very close to Banff, a lovely small town in the Rockies. Cheers!
Renata Pereira It's a shame you didn't come to Cape Town. Between the orchards, beaches, and mountains, the city and surrounds have scenery unlike anything you can find in the rest of SA. Thank you for the information about Canada. It'll be work that ultimately determines where I go, but being somewhere that offers numerous different outdoor activities is important. All three cities seem fine in terms of that though. I saw some pictures of Banff a while back. It looks absolutely amazing. I'll definitely incorporate some time there when I'm in Canada.
Yeah, I know I need to go back for Cape Town... I was in SA twice for the Confederations Cup and the World Cup, during winter... Thats's why I ended up skipping it... Good luck with your plans to Canada! :)
Hi Renata, so you are in Toronto Canada, I have friends who live in Rochester NY, not that far from Toronto, as the Bald Eagle flies, did you see all the flags that were hanging from the walls from the only castle in Canada you visited on your trip, they were the national flags of Scotland, the person who built the castle must have had Scottish connections or roots, by the way have got some information to pass to you with regards your trip to St Petersburg Russia, you will remember the cathedral you visited where Peter the Great is buried, as you will know that Tsar Nicholas II and his family are buried in the same cathedral, but did you know that Tsar was commander and chief of a Sottish regiment in the Britsh army, their cap badge is the 2 headed eagle of Russia, which was presented to the regiment by Tsar Nicholas II , the regiment name was the Royal Scots Greys, also that they were part of the escort to the Tsar and his family when they were interred in the cathedral, and also they were given special permission by Queen Elizabeth II that they could be part of the escort to there commander and chief Tsar Nicholas II and his family, not many people know that fact, that the Tsar was there commander and chief, and also to this day they raise a toast to the Tsar in the regimental mess to Tsar Nicholas II on special ocasions at mess dinners in rememberance of him as there regimental commander and chief. Getting back to Canada Nova Scotia is the part of Canada where the Scotts settled, take a look at the province flag of Nova Scotia, it's the same as the Russian flag Blue diagonal cross on a white background, the same as the one flown on all Russian naval ships of the line. Anyway, I will now depart and take my leave of yourself and look forward to more of your travel tales in the future.
Wow! I'm very impressed! History is amazing, isn't it? So many interesting facts and figures few people dig deep enough to learn... I remember seeing the Scotish flag at Casa Loma (that castle) but didn't question why... Thank you very much for letting me know. I was so touched at Peter and Paul Fortress when I learned the fate of Tsar Nicholas II's young kids!
Yes, I agree, it was a very horrific way to end one's life, in such a manner, I sometimes wonder how depraved and cruel that mankind can be with regards other human beings lives, his four young daughters and son saw their parents being slaughtered, then brutally murdered themselves, and their remains dumped in a swamp. The Tsar's wife and daughters worked as nurses in hospitals carrying for injured and wounded soldiers in the first world war, also his son had the debilitating illness Hemophilia, which was a blight on many European royal households, they also shot four other members of the royal household including there doctor who was there taking care of his son. I sometimes wonder if there is a god out there, mankind should take note of such cruel events, and learn from them, that is all I am prepared to say on the matter.
Oh wow! That's so sad... It's also shocking to me what people can do to each other... I question that whenever I watch The Walking Dead. Have you seen this show?
Hi, +Renata Pereira Love your Video thanks a lot for the informations next year, I will be studying in Canada. You should visited Curacao, Willemstad it is mine blowing The beaches are WAW try doing a video here you will love it !!!

Hi Gretel! The app was called "See Toronto", but I guess it's not available anymore, even their website is down: www.mytorontomeeting.com/Visitor/see-toronto-mobile-app.aspx - It's a shame, as it was very good... I learned about it with Toronto's Tourism Office, but I saw that now they are suggesting some new ones: www.seetorontonow.com/mobile-app/ - I haven't tried any of these, as I didn't go back there since this trip, so let me know if you do and if you like any! :)
+Isabel R. Thank you so much Isabel! I am too, afraid of heights, but having been there just yesterday, the main observation level is okay...you can hang back some feet comfortably away from the windows if you must. You can even have something small to eat and/or drink from the 'cafe'-like seating on the inside wall but still able to look out safely at the sky and lake. Just DO NOT go up to the Skypod level!!! It sways in a strong wind and it's a narrow space between window and wall. It's an amazing, thrilling view, but terrifying for some. In conclusion, it is worth the experience just to see the city of Toronto and Lake Ontario spread out far below. You can see for miles and miles...even to the US across the Lake on a clear day! Bring your camera!

Disappointed about the construction. Welcome to Toronto, we only have 2 seasons; winter and construction season. The later lasts between March to mid December.

Toronto is a wonderful city
It is indeed! Lots to see and do. I can't wait to get back.
Wonderful video, very well done, good research and comments. May I add that on the CN tower they have added an outside walk, where you can walk around with a guide all tight up with with safety ropes. It is not for every one only the bravest. Christof from Brampton a city near the airport with the largest Indian population outside India.
Thank you for the information
:) Saudos y buen viaje!

Nice Video
Thank you very much!!!! :)
+Renata Pereira AH Brazil! That is so so exciting. I have been a lot of places but Brazil is still at the top of my list!
Maybe when you're back from Brazil? I'm a novice travel blogger and have lots to learn from veterans like you. Please contact me if you feel you can help. Gracias y buen viaje!
Good video that give me some idea about my coming trip. Could I ask how early I should arrive the CN tower to avoid the long lines...
What is the App you mentioned you have used for this trip? I would like to download it for iPhone.
-Thanks
+Renata Pereira Thank you for the information Renata, I will take a look to the new apps!
You're welcome! :)
Nice!)What camera do you have?)
Thanks! This was shot with the Canon 5D and the GoPro Hero 4
Thank you!)
Great video. How did you find public transport in Toronto? You should make videos for Vancouver and Calgary too.
im going tomorrow for spring break from ottawa you should make a ottawa video
+Jason With Teslas Definitely! I saw some pics of Ottawa and would love to visit! Enjoy your trip!
+Renata Pereira thanks my trip was great but there was so much fog at the cn tower I will have to come again
Oh, wow! I can imagine... Winter in Toronto can be hard... Was it very cold there?
Renata Pereira no just foggy
I'm glad you didn't have to deal with -40 then!!!
8:40 Finch Station gang where ya at?
I want to travel to Toronto this Christmas for my birthday. Do you have any nightlife recommendations?
Also I would like to know the name of the app, well.. how it's spelled out because I couldn't find it. Thank you in advance.
Hi Renata, so you are in Toronto Canada, I have friends who live in Rochester NY, not that far from Toronto, as the Bald Eagle flies, did you see all the flags that were hanging from the
walls from the only castle in Canada you visited on your trip, they were the national flags
of Scotland, the person who built the castle must have had Scottish connections or roots,
by the way have got some information to pass to you with regards your trip to St Petersburg
Russia, you will remember the cathedral you visited where Peter the Great is buried, as you
will know that Tsar Nicholas II and his family are buried in the same cathedral, but did you know that Tsar was commander and chief of a Sottish regiment in the Britsh army, their cap
badge is the 2 headed eagle of Russia, which was presented to the regiment by Tsar Nicholas II , the regiment name was the Royal Scots Greys, also that they were part of the escort to the Tsar and his family when they were interred in the cathedral, and also they were given special permission by Queen Elizabeth II that they could be part of the escort to there commander and chief Tsar Nicholas II and his family, not many people know that fact, that the Tsar was there commander and chief, and also to this day they raise a toast to the Tsar in the regimental mess to Tsar Nicholas II on special ocasions at mess dinners in rememberance of him as there regimental commander and chief.
Getting back to Canada Nova Scotia is the part of Canada where the Scotts settled, take a look at the province flag of Nova Scotia, it's the same as the Russian flag Blue diagonal cross on a white background, the same as the one flown on all Russian naval ships of the line.
Anyway, I will now depart and take my leave of yourself and look forward to more of your
travel tales in the future.
Yes, I agree, it was a very horrific way to end one's life, in such
a manner, I sometimes wonder how depraved and cruel that mankind
can be with regards other human beings lives, his four young daughters and son saw their parents being slaughtered, then brutally murdered
themselves, and their remains dumped in a swamp.
The Tsar's wife and daughters worked as nurses in hospitals carrying for
injured and wounded soldiers in the first world war, also his son had
the debilitating illness Hemophilia, which was a blight on many European
royal households, they also shot four other members of the royal household including there doctor who was there taking care of his son.
No, I have not, but I look and feel like them first thing in the morning.
Haha! Me too when I don't get to sleep for 8 hours!

Hi Renata! What did you say the app is called?
Rewind the video lol
Bjao!
Um prazer! bjs e uma ótima semana! :)
Amazing video!!, can someone please tell me the name of the app?
+Isabel R. Thank you so much Isabel! The app was called "See Toronto", but I guess it's not available anymore, even their website is down: www.mytorontomeeting.com/Visitor/see-toronto-mobile-app.aspx - It's a shame, as it was very good... I learned about it with Toronto's Tourism Office, but I saw that now they are suggesting some new ones: www.seetorontonow.com/mobile-app/ - I haven't tried any of these, as I didn't go back there since last year (my trip was exactly 1 year ago), so let me know if you do and if you like them! :)
I would love to visit Toronto someday, but you will never get me up on the CN tower. I am way to terrified of heights for that
Really? Maybe if you stay away from the glass flor? The view from up there is really worth it!
What was the name of the app?

Disappointed about the construction. Welcome to Toronto, we only have 2 seasons; winter and construction season. The later lasts between March to mid December.
