I watch every video in 1440p even though I only have a 1080 monitor. 1440p gets way more bitrate from youtube and that helps every video.

On the last lap of Austria, especially. Styria was great, too, but Austria was just beyond my understanding.

If you watch the facecam, you'll notice that Jimmer only blinked once during his last lap (1 min into lap). LITERALLY ONCE. The other 2 and a half minutes were just pure concentration. What a mad man.

@@Stellar-Cowboy That is so wrong. If most jet engines can go from idle to full power in less than 8 seconds, but it would never be at idle power racing around a circuit. When at operating rpm they respond as quickly as a normal piston engine

he got confused between the rev counter and the speed, though from having used this car before in AC (obviously not the modded one), I am fairly sure the speed is in the bottom right, so he was only going at a "measly" 1600

@@Lime2Game I didn't try except years ago on joypad. Although the car was worse, and I keep penalties on, I did about 3 minutes and something. I should try again on my steering wheel, but I don't have time now :/

We need an ai that is capable of driving this thing at full speed. With longer gears this thing could lap the ring while traveling at like Mach 50 speed in every corner because of the downforce.
Edit: Calculated the theoretical potential. With stock gearing (maxes out at about 12k km/h aka roughly 10 times the speed of sound) about 6 to 7 seconds would be possible (if you had a capable ai and a pc that doesn't explode while processing this bullshit)

I imagine rebel tree at first was like "what a delightful fellow who keeps running by on such different machines every time" and as the cars on the series started to be progressively less sane options, rebel tree started getting more and more confused. It's breaking point was the shed.
I remember Lando Norris talking about chest pains from hard braking during the 2020 Styrian (Austria #2, 2020) Free Practice sessions.
These physics-defying infinity to zero brakes made me sympathise with the pain even though I am watching this video.

I don't think Assetto is the proper sim for a car like this - if you can call it a car, that is. What with more physics anomalies than a typical FailRace video, perhaps it would be better suited to sim like, say, Microsoft Flight Simulator??

@Ben T. "TAS" (tool assisted speedrun) implies usage of tools like that.
However I still wonder how long would it take when using save states and frame advancing...

Probably wouldn't make a difference since the frictional coefficient of the tires is so high. Lack of esc might cause the car to flip over on cornering but maybe not since there's so much downforce idk.
You can disable it. The difference is barely any, and happens just at first 0-200km/h. The car is also 4wd, so ..

Also, that new lap time means he had an average speed of 500.969km/h.

I own the world record clean lap on RSR with this car with a 40.965. It's almost impossible to be consistent with this car because most of the time, you're not even thinking. You drive this car with your reflexes and your instinct and you never remember what speed you should be going for each section of the track. You end up using the gears to give you a point of reference for how fast you're going.
