Fun story! Met my husband in law school. I was a third year. He was a second year. I graduated and moved to another state. He followed me the following year. We’ve been married for 34 years. When my 24 year old daughter asks how I knew he was the one I explained that he felt like home to me. When I was with him I felt settled, loved, and secure. I still do. I think we are both very lucky.

I loved hearing your story Marnie! Really enjoying these story time videos. My parents went on their first date in February 1976 and got married in May of the same year, exactly 3 months to the day. They're still together and happy 46 years later with 4 kids and 5 grandkids so far!
What a precious story. Can’t stop smiling! I got married at 20 right before starting dental school, Aug 18,1973. We look like children!! But 49 yrs later still going strong!!

What a lovely story! When I met my husband I just knew also. I was 23 and he was 21. We were married in 3 months. Here we are 37 years later. A daughter, 2 sons( one in heaven) , 5 grandchildren. We are still so happy together. I'm happy for your family Marnie!🥰❤
Loved your story. We are celebrating 40 years married in October, and on our 1st date (way back in July 1978) we went for dinner at a restaurant far too fancy for 2 young kids. There was an 'older' couple seated next to us, who said nothing to one another over their entire meal except, 'pass the pickles'. Even after all these years our conversation never lacks, however on occasion there can be silence followed by one of us saying, 'pass the pickles'. Congratulations on 25 years married, thanks for sharing.

Loved hearing that story Marnie! My husband and I have been married 33 years. We got married very young. We started dating the August after graduating from high school in 1987. I was in nursing school and he was working in the oilfield. We got engaged the following February and got married Dec 16, 1988. He was 20 years old and I turned 19 on Dec 25, 1988. Like you said, when you know, you know but we sure were young! I finished school in May 1991. Our oldest, my son was born Sept 17, 1992 and my daughter was born March 23, 2000. My son has been married for five years and have a 3 year old daughter and 8 month old son. My daughter is engaged and will be getting married next April.
I love your story! It’s actually really similar to mine - I met my husband in Aug 95, got engaged Jan 96, bought a house two months later and then got married in Aug 97! We just celebrated our silver anniversary too - and we have a 24 and 21 year old! I agree, when you know, you just know ❤

People want sparks and drama, but that takes a lot of energy to maintain over the long haul. I think one of the major keys is being with someone who has the same values you do. That doesn’t mean you’ll agree on every single thing or be twins. But it means that you will be in the same page for the very important issues in life.

Hi Marnie, just going back to some of your older videos. Fun story on how you met your husband! I grew up in Illinois right where I think you are from….used to go to concerts at Ravina as well. Met my husband at work and we have been married now for 42 years. During those years we moved from Illinois to NJ, then to Texas for 18 yrs (2 daughters live there), then to Oklahoma and now have retired on the lake in Georgia. Love watching your videos and how honest and down to earth you are. Thanks for sharing your style, makeup and life stories with us!

I loved your story. My husband and I met at Navy "A" school in Great Lakes, IL. we got engaged and married all within 4 months. Admittedly we were afraid that if we didn't get married we might never see each other again, but we both knew. Anyway we will celebrate 35 years on September 26th and we are going back to Illinois to celebrate, specifically Chicago because we went there as often as we could. Like you said, if my 24 or 22 year old came home and said they were marrying someone after only knowing them 4 months, I would probably lose my mind. I know that we are the exception, rather than the rule.
Spent alot of time at Great Lakes. My hubby is a retired Navy man. Great times! ❤️ Happy Anniversary to you both.

We have been married 42 years and I agree that the natural attraction is powerful. I met my husband as a child in middle school. We dated for several years in high school and four years in college before we married so we also had lots of time together before marriage. Relationships change over time but our love changes with the seasons of our life. I feel very blessed.
Loved hearing your story! Your excitement telling your story shows your love for Michael! You two were meant to be together! I didn’t meet my husband until I was 29, but I knew pretty early that he was the one. We moved to St. Louis in 1994 as my husband had started a new job there and I moved after the wedding. We lived in the suburb, Wildwood and we enjoyed going to the Italian restaurants on The Hill. Charlie Gittos’s was a favorite. We will be celebrating our 28th anniversary in December. My husband and I were also on the same page about me being a stay at home mom and it times it’s been quite a challenge, but the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. You have a beautiful family and I wish you and Michael many happy years together!

Love to hear the origin story of your relationship! My husband and I were friends for a year in grad school. Then started dating in September, engaged in February and married the next November, right before I turned 25. We had to make decisions quickly as we only had a year of school left. I am not sure how I would feel about my kids following that path. I have thought about it a lot.

I completely agree… if you have to ask yourself and question if they are the right one.. they aren’t! I still feel the same way about my 42 year old husband as I did when I saw him when I was 16 in a Dennys parking lot after a concert. I don’t know if it was his chunky hemp necklace, the wild hair in a bandana or the jeep he was driving but gosh dang. Now I’m scrolling amazon for prostate supplements for him and I still feel the same way. #truelove

Marnie I totally can relate to your story! Although we got engaged on our one year anniversary (it came down to him having a good job) I knew right away! I was also seeing someone casually & did the very same thing! I told him I met a man I can see a future with & since we were not in that space I couldn’t see him anymore. 😊

My husband and I were engaged in 6 weeks, married in 6 months. We were together almost 25 years, until he passed away. We were young, not looking to get married, but we knew the moment we met each other was really the one. The kids and I miss him so much.

You guys have a great story! My hubby and I met and were married within a year and we are on 27 years now! But it was the right time (met fall of his senior year in college) and totally the right person! It wasn't the easiest courtship due to outside forces but I never doubted he was the one.

You are correct-the correct person feels like you’ve known him ALL YOUR LIFE. I was 72 when I met him and we committed to each other THE NIGHT WE MET. ( We had talked on the phone and we did have a mutual friend to question.) BUT WE COMMITTED 4 hours after meeting.

I've only recently stumbled upon your videos. This one made me cry. Your love/engagement story. So wonderful. I also agree with your thoughts on many things. Side note, I can't believe your age because you have college age children (& when you said how old you were when you got engaged). You look phenomenal. You skin is completely wrinkle free. The first video I ever watched I realized you weren't in your 20's because of your intelligence & manner of speaking. But I was shocked when you claimed to be visiting a child in college for parents weekend. 🤯 I thought wth? How old is she? She must've had children in her teens to still look this flawless. I digress, I'm enjoying watching your videos.

Loved your story and can relate to so much of it... I know all about day camps: my grandfather and great-uncle owned a huge day camp in NY and everyone in the family worked there at one time or another. In fact, my parents met there. My dad is now almost 95, and although my mom is no longer with us, they had over 60 years together after meeting at the camp. My husband and I did not meet at the camp - but on a blind date set up by a mutual friend who was a year ahead of me in law school and a lifelong friend of my husband. We knew from our very first date that we would be marrying each other. Although we waited 6 months to officially get engaged, the future was clear from the very first night. In June, we celebrated our 41st anniversary. BTW, my husband and I are both Jewish and it was important to us, too, that we shared that common heritage. L'Shana Tova!

We started dating at the end of January, got engaged in March, and married in July. We just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We knew we were meant to be together.

I’m newly married but I love telling our story and believe that I will have as much excitement to tell our’s as you do so many years later. The short of our story is, my husband and I had a knack for being in the same places at the same time since we were 16 without ever meeting or living in the same town growing up. From being in the same restaurant 2,000 miles away from IL at the same time to even buying houses a neighborhood apart in the same city and shopping at the same grocery store. After a random meeting online, our first date was five hours and our second date was almost eight. Just like you, we discussed every possible important topic on the first date which made it so much easier after that! ❤❤
