I now finally know why I had such a terrible time listening, & reading and not getting things. Till this day when someone is talking and try to explain things, they just go right over my head. I need to do the action in order to register it in my mind. I'm not dumb but just different. It is unfortunate that our school/colleges are not designed for people like me. We are at a disadvantage but hopefully I can help one of my kids because he might be the same way. TY for posting this.
I agree, I am also a kinesthetic learner and my sister got me confused with ADHD but really? Doctors have complained that is not a disease. It wasn't until I took the survey on vark and figured out I was kinesthetic learner. People have noted me as a technician because they all say that I know alot about them. Also before I took the VARK test, something caught my attention right when I read a quote that said kinesthetic learners have really good computer skills. So I took the test then and I got a 10 in kinesthetic. Also my first time in college I took an Introduction to Ethics class and I failed to answer the syllabus questions on the day that same day she explained when it was due. Funny because my teacher needed to talk me and she thought that I didn't came to her class that day after she told me what I needed to do I started advancing and I made a 100 on the projects. But I ended up having a D when I could have gotten a C that got me mad. Not just that but the class that I learned what type of learner I was had to be taken during the middle of the semester, wish I had took this class before the semester started lol.
