@@spence_903ESPN & ABC starting next season.
End of a great era. Tuning into the SEC on CBS and hearing the theme at 3:30 on Saturdays in the Fall was the move. Thank you, CBS, for the memories.
Thanks to CBS Sports for making the SEC the best conference in the country. From play by play announcers Jim Nantz to Sean McDonough, and from Verne Lundquist to Brad Nessler, the analysts from Terry Donahue to Todd Blackledge all the way to Gary Danielson. I’m not from SEC country, but I can tell you this, I want thank this network for helping make SEC football more watchable and fun to tune in

Spencer Tillman, Archie Manning, Tony Barnhart.
Best conference? 😂😂😂😂!
@@knockout9446Yeah? As an OSU fan. What conference is better? Tf? B10 and Pac12 come no where close, and if you say any other conference than those three you're stupid.
For me it was Sean McDonough saying “HE STUMBLED AND FUMBLED”
For all 28 years of my life, I have watched my Auburn Tigers, and the SEC, and some of the greatest moments in college football all on CBS. Truly sad to see this new era take this away.. thank you CBS
the kick 6 was crazy but the last iron bowl did it for me
Its rare to get a heartfelt sign off like this anymore in todays age. Glad to see it here ❤
Gonna be weird not hearing that intro song every week. Its been around forever. It always got me hyped for the game at hand. Thanks for all the hard work over the years. Flawless coverage throughout.
It is still going to be around. CBS isn't leaving football. They are simply swtiching to the Big Ten. That song will continue to be played for Big Ten games for years to come.
@@chriskay1449- Rick Neuheisel on the postgame show said that the famous intro song will continue.

I'm a BIG10 fan, but I have to admit. Every week I was checking out the afternoon SEC game on CBS because it was always a good matchup. Obviously, the coverage was top notch.
If memory serves me correctly, that's about to become us, the Big 10!
and now the airways are gonna be taken up with mid B1G football on CBS. at least divisions are gone but still
@lavxbesdolp164 as much as I'd like to agree, I think that's about to change with all the Pac 12 schools swapping over(stupidly)
The SEC on CBS produced some of my fondest football memories. I can’t imagine anyone other than Verne Lundquist calling the 2013 Iron Bowl, for example. Thank you, CBS.
Great job by CBS Network in covering the SEC all these years, top notch coverage and analysis, made watching the games a pleasure.
Thanks to CBS Sports for making the SEC the BEST CONFERENCE in the country. From Jim Nantz, Craig Bolerjack, Sean McDonough, Verne Lundquist, Brad Nessler, Terry Donahue, Ed Cunningham, Aaron Taylor, Randy Cross, Andre Ware, Dean Blevins, Steve Beuerlein, Todd Blackledge, Gary Danielson, Michelle Tafoya, Gus Johnson, Mike Mayock, Danny Sheridan, Pat O'Brien, Craig James, Lou Holtz, Tim Brando, Jill Arrington, Tracy Wolfson, Jamie Erdahl, Jenny Dell PURE CLASS

thank you CBS for all the memories in the SEC
I just read that espn and ABC will be showing sec plus a bunch of other people who own rights to show sec
The CBS crew was a crew that knew what the SEC is all about. And it showed in the way they presented the games and the conference. I pray it still has the same feel going forward in the future... But I doubt it will ever be topped by what CBS did for the SEC. Praying for success and many thanks for this crew.
Sadly it won't. CBS as you said understood that the game was the main course to the appetizers that were the gameday traditions. ESPN has never, well at least in my lifetime, gotten it. Even when you watch games on the SEC Network, they don't take time to focus on tradition or history of the rivalries. ESPN treats college football like a business, which it is. Everything else is inconsequential.
At 24 years old I still get tingles in my spine when I hear the music
I’m 49 and still do. But not anymore. Big 10 is not my interest.
Same here it reminds me the holidays are around the corner, spending time with family watching these games. Will definitely miss it for sure.
Facts get chills
Awesome send-off...I hate this. CBS should always have the 3:30 game for the SEC.
What. An. ERA.
So beyond privilege the witness the Golden Age of the conference.
Congratulations CBS crew members fantastic job ! It’s unmatched
Thank you CBS Im not in SEC Country, but am a huge fan of that conference. You made my years in high school, college, and even into my early adulthood really memorable with a lot of these moments on Saturday afternoons.
Sad as this might be, next season will be a homecoming of sorts for Brad and Gary. They will be reuniting with the Big Ten as they were voice of Big Ten football at 11 am during the 1990's on ESPN. For us Big Tens who remember those times, they ,along with the late Adrian Karsten on the sidelines, were considered to be the best in the game. They were the voice of the Big Ten back then. To that I say, "Welcome Home, Guys".
Also, Gary is a Purdue alumnus. I remember watching Adrian on the sidelines back in the day and I miss his sideline reporting.
Ewwww the Big 10
congrats. These guys are class.
Very well said. What CBS did for the SEC in incredible and I am an SEC guy but to hear Gary and Brad broadcasting from Columbus, West Lafayette, Happy Valley or Ann Arbor will be good to see again. Thanks again CBS for that 3:30 slot and what you did for the SEC. Good luck. I'm sure we'll see you again down the road.
Great team work you guys have done. Thanks on a job well done.
Never cared for the SEC, but you can't deny that the SEC on CBS had one of the greatest TV theme songs of all time. In fact, it transcends being a goated sports theme song. It's one of the best songs to come from the 80s. Saturdays will never be the same without that glam metal-ish instrumental playing on CBS.
Being born in the 2000’s, I’ve grown up watching many iconic moments on CBS. I’m really gonna miss that intro music…
The music isn't vanishing. It'll still appear on CBS' Big Ten, Mountain West, Sun Bowl and Army-Navy games along with any telecasts on CBS Sports Network.
It was love at first sight. Thanks, SEC on CBS. That theme will always be legendary. Goodbye, old friend. Here's to ESPN giving the SEC some more respect.
Listening to that CBS intro as the drone camera hovers over Michigan Stadium is going to be beautiful
After 28 seasons of SEC Football on CBS, and 23 seasons of the "SEC on CBS", it was time to say goodbye on December 2, 2023 and look at all of the memorable moments of SEC Football during its near three-decade tenure on CBS. It was a bittersweet day for people of a certain age who grew up in the South and in SEC Country during the 2000s and the 2010s, myself included.
As an Alabama fan who was born and raised in Knoxville, TN during the first 20 years of this century, I have fond memories of watching SEC Football on CBS at 3:30 in the afternoon on Saturdays during the Fall. From the Hobbnail Boot in 2001 to the Ultimate Camback in 2010. From Auburn's miracle wins against Georgia and Alabama in 2013 to Alabama's 4th and 31 against Auburn in 2023. Whether it be Tennessee storming the Neyland field and tearing down the goal posts after their win against Florida in 1998 to Tennessee doing the same thing 24 years later in the same building after defeating Alabama. And every other field storming after beating Alabama from Ole Miss in 2014 to Texas A&M in 2021 to Auburn three times in 2013, 2017, and 2023, the SEC on CBS was there for some of the biggest, most memorable, and most important moments in the history of not only the Southeastern Conference, but College Football as a whole.
So as we prepare for the SEC to leave CBS for ABC, and CBS replacing SEC Football with B1G football (it's going to be odd seeing a B1G football game with that CBS theme music), let us remember where we were and what we were doing when those moments happened.
As a Michigan fan, it's going to be weird hearing that music, and not seeing the best conference in college football. Watched a lot of great games over the years.
@@BrownWolverinethis theme is somewhat universal. Debuted on Super Bowl 21 and now here in south america is used for soccer broadcasts on Paramount +
We will get used to it, after all it's one of the best themes ever and shall not be retired
I couldn't have said it better myself, Tobias.
@@otaviofrn_advstarted in the 80’s here for CFB in the SEC…
@@pookiejames05 no, earliest instance is Super Bowl 21. It was supposed to be the NFL theme for CBS going forward
The two announcers of college football that have made me a longtime fan are Keith Jackson and Brad Nessler.
Can’t forget about Verne Lundqvist and Brent Musberger either.
@@TJ89741 ---Yes, I forgot about Verne Lundquist, thanks. Musberger was good, but often a little quirky.
Brad Nessler was a such a phenomenal replacement for Verne Lundquist. Brad and Verne are men of integrity and pure class, and it has been an absolute pleasure listening to them announce games. I will definitely not miss hearing Gary Danielson's shrill voice hating on Alabama anymore (I still respect Gary, though). But, I will miss the production level, expertise from announcers to analysts, and that ever so favorite music for SEC Saturdays. That musical piece has always gotten me pumped up and ready to watch a game. I've been along for the ride for the last 17 years. Thank you, CBS Sports, for a great home to the SEC and nationalizing a regional product. Thank you for the memories, the professionalism, and being the best ambassadors to the SEC you could. ESPN has massive shoes to fill. Good luck to you guys and all the crew in your future assignments.
Thank you for everything you have done. I remember hearing the 3:30 theme song every Saturday and watching football.
Thank you CBS for bringing us such wonderful program over the years. Best wishes!
I grew up watching the top SEC football games on ABC in the 80s and early 90s so, just like Roger Daltrey said...'🎶Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!🎶'
CBS did get some SEC action from 1987-90 as part of the CFA package.
Thank you Brad and Gary. Your calls have been amazing over the years. Class acts, good luck next year with the Big 10 on CBS! You guys are awesome
I love CBS coverage they let you hear the bands in the stadium!!! I'm gonna miss the opening CBS montage. Cuz when you heard it you knew it was about to be ON!!!!!!!!
Always looked forward the BAMA on CBS. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Truely a special ride I’ve watched SEC on CBS for what feels like forever whenever I hear that iconic theme song with the Home Depot logo that is SEC football nothing will ever change that tons of amazing games and memories gonna miss it a lot for sure. On to a new era in 2024 gonna be a lot but sure it’ll be fun. Nothing will ever top this and we won’t forget it Thank you CBS for all the years
The way today's broadcast was opened was nothing short of brilliant. You should take the time to post a clip of it also.

Goosebumps and choked up. What a time it's been.
Never forget what they took from us. I can’t believe this is going to ESPN 😢
Thanks for the memories, SEC on CBS
I’ll always remember the CBS jingle before every commercial break.
Hysterical that Gary Danielson signs off his CBS broadcast tenure with ABC Sports’ old slogan. The Tiffany guys in suits behind the eye had to just LUV that!
Thanks CBS for the many memories the last 25 seasons and so long to “The SEC on CBS” it’s going to be wried next season not hearing that iconic CBS college football theme being played as an SEC game comes on

I can still remember Brad Nessler from when he was a fairly new sports reporter for WGST News Radio Atlanta, way back in the late 70's/early 80's, nowhere close to getting hooked up with over the air broadcasts yet, but already he was a class act...man, he's come a long way since then!!!
