Brent Musburger is an institution in the sports world. It's amazing the number of historic games and moments he was part of. Sometimes when I'm watching a football game and the offense has a run for no or little gain, I say "nothing doing." I got that from Brent. He is one of the best for sure.
"Your looking live at the Rose Bowl from Pasadena" and the grandfathers intro video comments was absolutely an amazing piece of work that only you could have delivered Brent Musburger. This was poetry. I am going to miss your wonderful sensitive way you covered games. Best of success in the future and thanks for the many years of great work.
It’s so surreal to grow up as a small child and remember watching the NFL today and hearing Brent, Phyllis, Irv, and Jimmy the Greek on CBS. I am 51, back in 1978 I didn’t miss a week of that show. And through the years watching college football called by the best. When I think of big time college games I hear his voice. It’s brings goose bumps to my skin. Sure there are others Jackson, Scully, Gowdy and “oh my” Dick Enberg. But the Voice the will always resonate with my youth and get my blood pumping will be Musburger. I don’t know the man but I feel like I do. Goodbye and Thank you
he was an awesome & colorful broadcaster with a unique voice.... there's only been a handful over the decades & Brent Mustburger certainly was one of the those voices... thanks for the memories Brent & so long, it's been exciting listening to your broadcast
Brent is one of my all time favs as a kid i grew up watching cbs nfl and wanted to be like him he is a guy who told it like it was didnt pull punches and still doesnt i respect i admire and look up to him still a classy guy love that man!
I seen a lot of great sport commantators but nobody does not do better than Brent Musburger,He tells you every detail of whats going on in a game.I really missed him on The NFL Today.
Brent, Will alway remember you from Chicago days and of course, NFL Today ("Your looking Live") which made Sundays always great growing up. Best to you
"You are watching what greatness is all about" famous Brent Musburger quote about Larry Bird being on fire in Game 7 of the 1988 NBA playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks in a legendary 4th quarter duel with Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins. One of the greatest calls of all time.
He was incredible at what he did. When I think of him, I think about the NBA Finals on CBS that he commentated during the mid 80's between the Lakers and Celtics. I don't think anyone will be able to do it any better than he did during those days.
Brent was the first announcer who used sports betting terms in his play-by-play calling. He spoke to us investors and obviously he too himself invested. Thanks, For all you do/did Brent.
TERRIBLE...How could they not include his call of the first Muhammad Ali vs Leon Spinks fight? He gave such a great call, especially when you began to feel that it might be a massive upset. "One of the most unbelievable moments in sports"
Brent was great. I even remember him doing the news at KNX-channel 2 in L.A. with Connie Chung. I’m sure there’s someone else out there that recalls that.
Thankfully this wasn't the end, and he's back in the booth. It's going to be a little odd at first hearing him on the radio calling Raider games instead of Greg Papa, but I'm sure it won't take long getting use to.
He hosted the NFL Today on CBS hearing you are looking live (insert stadium and matchup here) From broadcasting NCAA tournament and NBA play-off games he will always be the greatest
When Brent called NBA games in the 70s for CBS he was doing a Philadelphia 76ers game. Daryl Dawkins (who I believe had yet to actually break a backboard during a game) went up for a dunk and Brent yelled "Women and children first when Dawkins goes up for a dunk!!"
1:10 Edgar Martinez clutch hit taking the Mariners to face Cleveland. I remember that moment as a little kid screaming and jumping in the living room.. "Griffeeeeeey is coming around!"
"They're holding the trains!" is a part of that call (I watched on ESPN Classic as I was but one year old, so it may not be verbatim), that I remember.
My Dad hated him for some reason. If he was doing the broadcast it wouldn't be 10 minutes before he'd tell me to turn the volume down. He called him Brent Musclehead. I don't know why?
Man alive... Brent Musberger may be THE VERY BEST!! all time!!! He made every game/ contest that he announced exciting and worthy of watching... The only other person that comes close to his talent is Dick Enberg. Ya know-people got down on Brent when he pointed out the Alabama quarterbacks girl friend. There was NOTHING, wrong with that...--he was just telling the outright truth.. There is nothing wrong about mentioning an attractive woman. ANYWAY..--it'll never be the same after Musburger.// if you read this Brent, your #1 in my book... !!!
I was 11 years old watching that Monday night Final in April Rupp Arena was treated to. I was rooting for Georgetown but kept seeing McClain, Pinkney and Jensen making 16 footers again....again and again until Brent said..."It's over. Villanova has done it..." Love Brent but it still makes me ill hearing that final call.
Brent and Verne are absolute legends I will miss them so much college football will never be the same.

I grew up listening to Brent, Keith, and Verne. They truly have a special place in my heart.
Same here, Keith Jackson on saturdays with college football, words cant express how much I miss it.

College football isn’t the same without you Brent I miss you so much😔😔

One of the greatest moment in Purdue football history was made so great with a call from Brent Musburger. Holy Toledo!

Thanks for making Eagles football a part of my childhood, Brent. ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT! YOU DESERVE IT!
The perfect ending to an imperfect system
Still gives me chills
Great broadcaster... His 2014 FSU championship calling was icing on the cake.

One of the best.
Brent was the best broadcaster I have ever had the pleasuring of listening too!
Brent was awesome. I will miss lookin live at games with his voice in the background
There will never be another one like Brent Musburger. We'll miss you, sir. Hope you're enjoying retirement.
I didn't know Brent retired ,he was a classic.
this legend commentated every sport. he’s my favorite for a reason!
TERRIBLE...How could they not include his call of the first Muhammad Ali vs Leon Spinks fight? He gave such a great call, especially when you began to feel that it might be a massive upset. "One of the most unbelievable moments in sports"
I wish he could’ve had his last call at a Rose Bowl. He was my first big game announcer that I can remember and he was great.
It'll never be the same
Brent was great. I even remember him doing the news at KNX-channel 2 in L.A. with Connie Chung. I’m sure there’s someone else out there that recalls that.
Brought back in the fall of 2019 to do Dr. Pepper commercials: "You are looking live at Fanville." (Even on radio!)
One of my favorites of all time. Loved when he called the Big Ten, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Thankfully this wasn't the end, and he's back in the booth. It's going to be a little odd at first hearing him on the radio calling Raider games instead of Greg Papa, but I'm sure it won't take long getting use to.
But now Musburger
Must go to the Darkside
The new voice of the Las Vegas Raiders
LVR VGK all day
Musburger the dude!
Legend. Will miss that voice
Definitely miss hearing Verne on Saturday afternoon and Brent on Saturday night....college football Saturdays don’t hit the same.
In my opinion Brent Musburger is the greatest college football announcer of all time
Last game of your career, Brent, can't hold anything back now.
I grew up watching Brent Musberger in the Chicago Land Area. One or the greats The NFL on CBSssss "We are coming to you Live".
Nowadays he gets to be the voice of my beloved Raiders
You were one of the best!
“This is for all the Tostitos”
I would've listened to Brent call a chess tournament! He made everything HUGE! What a loss for us, what a career for him!
He hosted the NFL Today on CBS hearing you are looking live (insert stadium and matchup here) From broadcasting NCAA tournament and NBA play-off games he will always be the greatest
Brent also did the arlington million 2004 broadcast
ive watched u from a little kid 2 now. Thank u Brent
Growing up in the early 2000s and hearing "You are looking at a sold out Rose Bowl in Pasadena" every single year is something I'll never forget.
Not the same without him!!! Thanks Brent!!!
He still does radio is currently the play by play man for the Raiders

“The granddaddy of them all” thanks for the memories!
They didn't include his memorable voice during his NBA on ESPN Radio play-by-play duties.
1:10 Edgar Martinez clutch hit taking the Mariners to face Cleveland. I remember that moment as a little kid screaming and jumping in the living room.. "Griffeeeeeey is coming around!"
I was happy they didn't forget his time calling baseball, my favorite guy to call a LLWS
I cant believe this was on my birthday. 😭😭
I remember his comments during the second game of the 1977 NBA Finals. Darryl Dawkins and Maurice Lucas got into it. He said “Somebody stop this.”
The call of Game 5 of the 1976 NBA Finals with the shot that went in to triple overtime especially with him saying “I DONT BELIEVE IT!”
"They're holding the trains!" is a part of that call (I watched on ESPN Classic as I was but one year old, so it may not be verbatim), that I remember.
I miss Brent Musburger!!!
Pure class.
He is a great guy
The best of the best!
My Dad hated him for some reason. If he was doing the broadcast it wouldn't be 10 minutes before he'd tell me to turn the volume down. He called him Brent Musclehead. I don't know why?
“You are looking live from the Big House in Ann Arbor Michigan” 🐐
Man alive... Brent Musberger may be THE VERY BEST!! all time!!! He made every game/ contest that he announced exciting and worthy of watching... Miss Uncle Brent.
Im happy and sad that he signed off at my birthday
I was 11 years old watching that Monday night Final in April Rupp Arena was treated to.
