In your new paint booth try starting your paint job near the fresh air intake and finish towards the exhaust fans. That should cut down on the overspray, at least it did for mine.
Great point. Thanks
Oh boy a Sprayway video to finish a Saturday in style
Much appreciated

Thanks family
@@SprayWayCustoms no doubt bro❤️❤️💪🏾❤️❤️
Great setup. On my air compressor i installed a cheap transmission cooler, it condensed all the moisture out of the air before it got to the tank. installed the same harbor freight moisture catch you have after it, but it filled up really fast, needed a bigger one.
Ok thanks for the input
Just doing what you have to do ! New Booth New Magic 👍🏽👍🏽
You know it! Thanks
Hope he puttin in the new metal booth he bought and dismantled that day
It’s gonna be a bigger one

I have a compressor similar to yours. I added a drain valve to the bottom of the tank plumbed outside. You will be amazed how much water is in the tank.
Very cool! Thanks
You could also add an automatic drain valve to the bottom of the tank. Works like a charm.
@@05glisedan I will check that out.
What do you think about installing a air conditioner for the hot humid days? It would keep some of the moisture out of the air (less getting into the air lines) and keep a even temp for the paint to cure. Plus your own comfort.
So I'm going to sand the chevelle to 600. Getting it ready. Think I'll practice on a work van I have. I'm not gonna lie I'm scared of that trigger. How did you overcome the first spray. Good to see you turning things into gold..
Sounds like a great plan. I just sprayed a little primer and got comfortable
Good stuff man
Thanks
Yo happy your getting new shop that air setup is very similar to mine I’m using cheap bow fans from DG mounted to a aluminum sheet that goes in front of my overhead garage door it has 5 fans pulling. Then on my intake set up I have 2’ x4’ filters with fans pushing my filter wall is built inside garage 12’ from the real end this set up allows me to run a jet heater in the winter and not go bang. I found filter cloth that comes on a roll. My air lines are Schedule 80 PVC pipe rated for 1280 PSI. Very to work with!
Thanks Tim
That's a lot of pipes and a lot of drains... Just a suggestion, when I make a water cooled dryer, with a purge blow down?
There's a guy on UA-cam you can look up with a awesome design. He built his own compressor out a second hand tank. That's not all that impressive or a big deal but his automatic drying system that was an exceptionally good design. He basically put a copper coil in a tank of water, the water being cooler than the air going through, forces the water to condensate in the line, and every time the compressor cycles off it back pressure from the pressure switch shut-off feeds a air controlled Purge valve that drain in the water into the cooling tank so it burps whatever water is in the lines into the tank.
Very basic design, the plumbing is not hard, it automates the entire procedure, keeps oily water off the deck, and the whole process is automatic so you don't have to worry about water ever getting past the dryer to get into the lines. If you put a air water separator after the dryer (which you already have) it would make your filters last longer as they are parked in on how much water is going through the crystals. No water, separator filters work longer.
Added bonus?
1. Your air coming out of your tank will be cooler whenever it's summertime. If it's really hot you can throw a bag of ice in a condensation tank.
2. You don't have to spend that money on all that piping or worry about inclining all of your pipes.
3. You don't have to worry about accidentally forgetting to blow down because the system collects the water and purchase it automatically every time every time the compressor cycles off.
Just something to think about. If you're going to be building a shop make it high class. Best part of all there's no moving parts to go bad it's all controlled by the pressure in the system and use.
I'm building a Steel Quonset hut workshop right now and that's exactly what I plan on doing with my compressor where is I don't do a lot of painting, moisture inside your air tools sucks. And nothing's worse than being in the summertime and crawling underneath a car with an air ratchet I'm getting hit with a mist of water 💦and oil 🛢️like a grease monkey🐒 money🍆 shot 🤣.
Can't wait to see the new shop 😁👍🏼.
Thanks for the info
The air hose appears to be 3/8 which is what is recommended. Painters and mechanics will benefit greatly by switching to high-flow air couplings. Some people may suggest a aftercooler on your compressor, and that will help. Another option which I use is to use a secondary receiver (air) tank. I have an additional 60 gal tank which doubles my air capacity and also collects any remaining moisture. I have air/water separator exiting my compressor and entering the receiver tank. I also have air/water separators and filters at each drop -- you can see by the clear filter bowls that there is no water at the outlets. They have their own bleed valves and its all clean and dry air. I also use an automatic drain made by Tsunami Moisture Minder, it keeps my tank dry by purging the drain valve every time the compressor cycles. No need for desiccant filters, I think they are a gimmick.
I noticed a lot of water at those drain legs... follow my advice and those drains will be 100% free from water. Thank me later!
Appreciate the info 🙏🏾
Awesome!
I got 2 hyper tough fans at Walmart 5200 CFM each and have sealed motor making them explosion proof and you want to mount them down low one on each side of the car,,, l put a 1/2 inch 25 foot roll of coiled copper between compressor pump and tank with water separator at tank end,, it drops the hot compressed air temperature 80 degreess really cuts down on condensation caused by hot air entering colder tank and I hardly get any water in system now,, most too it wrong you want to stop water from entering the tank not after,, and l worked in a shop with down draft exhaust, you can't beat it your fighting gravity with fan up high, so l did fans at floor lever in rear so not to pull over spray over to hood,,
Appreciate the great info
Gonna be cool Sprayway . Are you gonna move that partition wall over a little to give you a bit more room to move ? Even if it was a foot it would probably make a huge difference and you’d still have storage ! Anyway just wondering ..Nice to see you investing a little in yourself dude you deserve it 👍
I’m actually tearing the whole shop down and rebuilding it but yes, it’s gonna be a lot bigger
Nice video spray way I got a similar setup I may have over, did minds your look simple. I got 1/2 in Pipe Soldier, but like you said, it works😂
True…thanks
Are you putting up the steel building you and Roc took down right? Hope you video some of it going up... That's gonna be nice bro.
I’m actually going with a bigger one now. Yes, I’ll be filming it
YESSIR! Lots of knowledge in this video! Great lookin shop! Thanks Sprayway! You gonna make those drains go outside so water goes outside?
Thanks…I never thought about that 🤔
are you making a bigger shop and that's why it's apart? will you be adding a speaker/stereo setup? I ask cause in a lot of vids i hear music.
Yes, that’s the plan
My at home booth is the same size as yours but I'm building an 18×30 12' walls with a 11' high door's almost done with it.
Sounds like a great size there
I knew guy that would paint cars in gerage.heated with stove. Tech. He did was wet the cement floor before painting that helps keep the dust on the ground and not flying around when your painting
Great point!
What are your airlines ( the dark/black ones running on an incline and contain the drains ) made of? Must be something flexible?
Black steel pipe
Your drain scheme is awesome.. I would not have thought of doing that many, but it absolutely makes sense.. Excellent ideas for my paint booth...
Glad it was helpful!
Congrats on the new shop. You know what would be a great idea? You should celebrate the opening of the new shop by painting my project. What do you think lol 🤷🏾♂️ hey it would be something different on the channel 72 Mopar
Sounds like a plan
Congratulations brother! More money coming in!
Much appreciated
Just curious why you aren't using a water separator right after the outlet of the compressor to prevent some water from entering the lines in the first place?
That sounds like a good idea. Thanks
Wassup spray way I’m trying to get some body work done need your info
Ok….sprayway123@gmail
Love your vids
Appreciate it
Imma go out a limb…. In the high tech spray booths the ventilation pulls the over spray down instead of across the project. Have you thought about building a platform in order to pull the over spray down? No easy task I’m sure.
Nah, he likes doing the flow coat after. But I'd have mine vent up through the ceiling and out.
Yes, I thought about it. Thanks
Hope this means that you are growing into a bigger shop?
Congratulations! Spray for all your hard work. You deserve it!! 👏 💪
To many more, and God Bless
Yes! Thank you!
What happen to the shop you Bought and tore down
Still have it
Don’t forget to drain compressor. Also can add a trans or oil cooler to air line right after compressor to cut down on condensation in lines from being heated by compressor . I know it’s far out there but a heated intake would also remove moisture from air before it gets compressed as well, just don’t want hot air for compressor. Looking good. Dig the videos!
Appreciate all the input 🤝
Explain the cooler. Inline, right after the flex? Does it run with coolant, and what flows it?
Can't wait until God bless me with my first seed. I hope the doctors wrong that they don't think I can make kids. My time is ticking almost 50 years old. But maybe I get a female who can have kids soon.
Still making babies lol 😆💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
😂😂😂
I wish you where closer to me I have an 1985 chevy truck that my dad bought new and gave it to me last year when he passed. It's in great shape, last person that painted it did not do so great. Keep up the amazing work brother.
How many gallons is your compressor?
60 gallon
Thanks for going into detail on the set up
No problem 👍
For your exhaust fan, I would recommend a squirrel fan. They are quiet and move a lot of air. I have a louvered frame that closes when the fan is off. It works great 😊
Congratulations on the new upgrade, I need you how can I reach you for your services please
Thanks…sprayway123@gmail
@@SprayWayCustoms I emailed you
I think if it works it works good job man
Thanks
SPRAYWAY in your opinion what shop is better. A downward draft booth or one where the air comes straight from side to side?
What happened to the blow up portable booth
I still have it
Your boy true gritt said he uses chicken fans
I’m looking for some now
Thanks for breaking down your set up!!!
It's very important to have clean and dry air with a way to drain the system.
A transmission cooler and a automatic draining water trap in-line in between the compressor pump & the tank makes for a tidy situation & nice cool air, really nice on a small compressor!!!
I have a A/C condensor on mine right in front of the fan w/a $20 trap~
Cool idea
Congratulations on the new shop. I just bought my VEVOR booth and I got one in already.
Nice! Thanks
that booth is getto fabulous, cranks out some outstanding work but then i think you both do , and hey its workin for you. i usually spray my cars in the driveway on a nice day
Right on…thanks
Cant wait to see the new shop

Well congratulations on ur new baby sprayway
Thanks for watching
How i get jn touch with him
So 16' X 24" total? Thats exactly the size of my garage wich convert into a paint booth. I would not want less than that 16' wide to walk around the car painting it, i'm so used to it now . I like all the work you do.
He said 12 x 23 sized. I'm with u, 12 wide would be tight fit. 16 ft more ideal.
16’ would be the idea size
🔥🔥
Thanks

Can you use PVC pipe for the airlines?
U can , just note the pressure they're rated for in psi, don't exceed it..
Yes
