I made a paint booth like this and had a few issues. When I sprayed the primer the excess collected on the plastic and once it dried it would flake off and fall into the paint. The box fans don't seem to move enough air. I was using a old style suction paint gun that uses more pressure than the new HVLP guns so that could have been a big part of the problem.
Thanks for the walk through and pricing. I may actually use this myself someday soon. I can't wait the see what color that you have chosen, and see the next steps...painting.
Very nice indeed, I can’t believe the price of materials and it’s pretty good. I hope to see the next episode soon for the paint, one step closer to being finished. Happy Father’s Day to you and the dads out there.
Very cool. I built a temp paint booth in the past out of 2x4s and plastic and it took me several days to get it all together. Next time I do this, I will follow your plan. Thank you for sharing.
good job ! imo, I like the concrete floors in these, pre paint, wash the floors with water, keep some moisture down when you paint, so 0 chance of dust coming up.
Great job👏 Have a helpful suggestion maybe. I’ve made one of these before and had sag in the middle, was able to attach some cord on the outside and adhere it to the ceiling of my garage thereby pulling up the middle. My ultimate purpose was to hang more lights. Keep up the good work loving the content👍
Nice concept, but where is the air entering from? That's where you need a filter with sticky stuff applied to it. I'm going to be making my own temporary spray booth. I will be building mine out of wood, and I will use heavy duty plastic sheeting on the floor. I will probably have something close to 8 ft wide by four or five feet tall filter in the front where the air enters. I'm going to use one heavy duty or fan and it'll suck out of both corners in the back and each corner will be lined with multiple filters. Yours is the second video I've watched and they should work but you might get dust in your paint.
Hey Jeremy, looks great ! Only suggestion from past experience would be to make sure to tack rag off the walls seeing that plastic is a big static machine. Make sure to have great not just good exhaust fans running. The sooner you have the overspray out of there the best plus wet the floor. Good luck with painting your baby ! Don't worry if I can do it most any one can ! I just love it more than I should ! Great video and even a better way of building than with lumber !
So a very brilliant design for the booth. Just a word of extreme caution about pvc I work with pvc a lot doing irrigation for a golf course. Turns out when pvc is heated beyond warm to the touch it starts to release polyvinyl chloride fumes which are toxic and have been linked to cancers. Using a chop saw is only “good” if it is used outdoors and with a breeze to disperse the fumes. Firefighters are very aware of this hazard
Hi there. Love the video! Is the front of the paint booth left open, or is it covered with plastic? If covered, is there an opening? Thanks for your input.
Holy moly, I have been watching since the start and am on my way to starting my own project now because of it! I watch every episode by searching for it and just realized i was not subscribed, sooo I am going straight to hell. All jokes aside, loving the progress, and good luck with the painting!
I am in Utah (2nd driest state). Usually humidity is not an issue. I will likely check prior to paint, but will likely not need a dehumidifier. Thanks for the comment!
@@electricsupercar also, my buddy seconded the whole plastic and dried up flakes (he is a painter at Boeing). He said there is plastic with a tacky substance on one side to catch dust and paint particles during painting. 🤙
Oh buddy, it's getting exciting now.... well... it's been exciting all along but I think we all have been, including you, waiting for this moment. Take your time, be patient, don't rush. But you already know all about that. This build has been a lesson in all those things for you I believe. Great job on the booth.
That pvc has more than doubled in price its $8.06 for the SDR 21 and $6.68 for SDR 40 at lowes .. and its only been 2 years since you bought yours. This is unreal
Custom Paint Booth or... Breaking Bad? lol $304 is a great price considering what it would've cost to actually buy a shelter you would've needed to build anyways.

Nice work! That turned out sweet. Best one I've seen on youtube!
Maybe time for a revisit, full test and review. Thanks 😊
Fun fact: You still have the same haircut as then you were born (not meant to be offensive)
Thanks 👍
Excellent ideas and execution, Jeremy! Great prep like this will make your car’s finish spectacular, and cut down on a lot of work later. Congrats!
Thanks! 👍

Hello, hello, again from Costa Rica. Can't wait to see how it goes. Best of lucks, and officially waiting on the following video.

Air comes in from the fans through the filters. Filters are kept in place with duct tape. Wood is a good option as well.
I thought same thing on fresh air intake...basically pulling air from a gap between the booth and wall.
@@lynchcreekmuzzy5759 through the fans through the filters
That's impressive!!!
A really good design and well planned out.
Thanks! Good to hear from you again!
Great video my Friend. Love seeing the progress on this project. When it done it be nice to see what you come up with next.
The future is looking bright!
Ingenious idea, and easy to stow away...
That is the plan!
1st of all, what the size of your garage? Did you consider possible issues with static electricity when you paint?

Wow! Thanks!
Almost makes you want to invite other folks over (who need a paint job) I would imagine?
Really neat booth man, great work as always Jeremy👍🏽

Very cool paint booth. I’ve found you can never have enough lights. I own both a IPhone cover and a wallet from the Sponsores.
Nice! Thanks for the comment!
Is one fan intake one fane exhaust? Which one has the filter on it or did you put a filter on both?
@@DonSantana730 both intake, filters on both
Nice! Way to knock that out!

Nice job. But explosion proof fans are a must, unless your using water based paint like createx.
You will have to send me a link to the explosion proof fans.
I bought mine at Granger

The PVC pipe for the frame was a good call. You can use it again for another paint booth or something else.
That's the plan!
Nicely done!! 👍
Thank you! 👍
Do you by chance have the list of pieces and amounts?

Are there any concerns about using household box fans with the flammable vapors?
As they are drawing in fresh air, no...not really
Did you consider humidity? Here in NC humidity would be a killer and I have to run a standup dehumidifier with a hose all year around.

Probably not. Electrical is on the outside wit the fresh air
Can I have the measurements of those pipes to cut

Finally will be colored now!!
Paint has been ordered!
Were there intake and exhaust fans?
Where did I get them? Or where are they located?
Does a paint booth have to be air tight?
No. Just has to have positive pressure (more air coming in from the fans pushes all other air out)
I hope you choose a Metallic paint color
🤔
Oooh Yeah. Candy apple red or metallic electric blue. Awesome.
Great job
Thanks Friend!
What are the dimensions?
Pretty close to 14'x20'
Electric Blue metallic? Candy apple red because the car is Sweeet. Great video series thanks 😊
