We made this a while back. It's not the exact same bike, but the forks are very similar and the concept applies. ua-cam.com/video/Z_vG0g5yJts/v-deo.html
Deviant Moto sweet thanks. I’ll assume that’s the same measurement for the 1190r. From what point on the bike do you measure to the ground? My manual only talks about clicks on the pre load knob.
Specs are the same and can be found under "Technical Data" in the back of your owner's manual. Pick any point as long as it's more or less vertical from there to the ground, mark it with masking tape or use an edge. You'll need a friend to measure riding sag as you'll have to be on the pegs and in riding position. Check out this video. Process is the same for ADV bikes. Play with it from there. ua-cam.com/video/ZtzTyCKh5fY/v-deo.html
2 clicks in? My manual states 12 clicks for comfort, standard, and sport riding. 18 for fully loaded? Where are you getting the 2 click recommendation? @upshiftonline
Yes, the seat height is up there. That is kind of the nature of a lot of the modern offroad capable ADV bikes. A lot of it has to do with ground clearance, wheel size and engine packaging. You look at the 890 though and they are figuring out engine packaging and gas tank layout to bring the seat down and forward a bit while maintaining excellent ground clearance.
very good tips and agree 100% it has a lot to do with personal preference. Theoretical rules of setting SAG usually don't work for me.
please make a video about how to adjust the front suspension of the 1090 Adventure R
Can you make a similar video for the front suspension?

what are you fellow fast offload riders using for front and rear sag numbers (solo fast riding)
Do they actually have a SAG measurement in the manual for the KTM?
Captndarty Yes. 25mm static, 55mm riding.

little doubt when you gesticulate with your hands compressing the spring( 1.54 ) ,,,, and saying later that you will go higher ,,,
Why does the manual say 12 turns for the rear?
Exactly.. my 18 says 12 turns as well. My dads 17 manual says 2. What a crock of shit this is.
2 clicks out of 18 seems like a pretty soft stock recommendation? Just checked my 2017 1090 and I got 24 clicks, not 18.

Why not teach people how to actually measure it and set it correctly?
Why does my manual say 12 turns for my 18? You’re saying 2 turns which is what the 17 manual says.
