  • Setting your motorcycle suspension sag by adjusting preload on your rear shocks is very important. It affects the geometry of your motorcycle and how it handles overall. This doesn't need to be a complicated process as many make it seem in other online videos and articles. We're here to break it down in simple terms for the everyday motorcycle enthusiast. (listen to this podcast episode to get all the details!)
Setting sag just means that you are adjusting how much your bike lowers (sags) and rides in the rear when a rider, passenger, luggage or a combination is on the bike. The bike should only sag down so far and within a pre-determined range. Whether you're riding street, adventure, dual-sport, or dirt, setting motorcycle suspension sag is a universal process.

Great video! Now tech ? My 690 R. I found out the other day at about 77+ mph. The bike wobbles bad. Like shaking your booty wiggling. A$$ end feels really loose. That is running full load on bike with my fat butt. I can't seem to get out of it. Spec says static sag at 25mm. Rider sag at 70 to 80mm. Should I set static sag with luggage on the bike? Or just bare bike? Also I just put on a motoz tractionator rest tire. Not sure if it's the tire or suspension.. say I'm at 100 mm race sag. Spec is 70 to 80. To close that gap I would unload the spring? But then that messes up the staic ssg, right?? I always have trouble doing this on a bike . Thanks great video..

Legends makes some excellent suspension. You can't go wrong with them.

Great video. I do have a question. I have a 2013 ultralimited FLHTK and conflicted on which touring shocks to purchase. The bike does have the original air shocks and it's time to upgrade. Please help with any opinions. There so many touring shocks from Fox to Legends Revo A that everyone has an opinion which is fine.

The guys around here have replaced the rear air shock setup with either Progressive 444 or 944. Loving them. We've done several install videos on the channel. ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/progressive-suspension-for-street-bikes

@@joshharrison2657 Josh when I load up the bike along with spouse I take the air shocks to a max psi of 50 and have tried different pressures and still bottoming out. I'll be getting those 944s.
