Brother Bobby, if following the way of the Sufi's was right it would have been mentioned in the Qur'an. After prophet Muhammad(S.A.W) received revelations, he stopped meditation and started doing more Salah.

Judaism named after Juda by rabais, christianity named after christ by church. Islam is not named after anyone nor was is started by anyone. It is the religion of God.

The issue with the sufi is that some of them transgress and start associating partners with Allah, or they do practices that the early Muslims never did, hence innovations. My advice Bobby is to learn tawheed first then get into the mysticism. Why I say that is that tawheed is your foundation. If you get into mysticism first it will lead you astray. It's a slippery slope and many have failed. Islam has strong firm limits and you must know them first.

Sheikh Yasir mentioned how the Prophet did not return to cave Hira after revelation meaning it served no purposes after, and he was ordered to move amongst the people and spread the truth (while not isolating himself). Though one cant deny that the Prophet did seclude himself during the last 10 days of the Ramadan, so much so people rarely saw him. Tasawwuf is from our deen without a doubt, but when taken to an extreme can turn into Bid'ah. Spending time alone with Allah, contemplating him and such is necessary, but so is going amongst the people and being a contributing member of society, and at best, spreading the truth.

Brother bobby, PLease Please Please, be very careful while approaching Sufism, i know you know what you are doing, just be careful not to slip, u have something better, Sunnah, what the prophet did, his companions, and the people directly after them, those 3 have it all, adding topings on that is Bidaa, even if it was there before, doesnt make it right, just be careful bro

Judaism was named from the word "Judah" who was the fourth son of Jacob (pbuh), Christianity was named from the word "Christ" (χριστός) which means the anointed one, which was translated from the Hebrew word mashiah (המשיח, messiah),
