@@Hockeistguyalive I grew up playing this rink and people who don't know the area wouldn't get the truth in this comment lol...straight up....money buys your way to the elite levels and theres a lot of people with money around there.

Playing Jr. A, I figured I'd be a stud at roller hockey, especially since I started with roller hockey....But, well, now I no longer think that haha
These guys make stopping on rollerblades look effortless. It’s a lot harder to stop on a dime than on ice
I love how some ppl act like roller is a joke, guaranteed they would get smoked out here
I was honestly really surprised at how good these guys were. I assume most of these guys are ex-junior/semi-pro?
It’s just so different, total chaos without offsides or icing, and so much space.
There aren’t body checks so guys can fly around without consequences. The best guys are under 5’10 and under 160 lbs.

I honestly don't understand why those guys would want to play roller. I guess it's sorta different, except in all the ways it is, none of them are better.
It's fun
McDavid played lots of roller all through his youth and trained a lot on rollerblades in the off-season. He credits it with his skating development. And McDavid isn’t just good, he’s been one of the best to ever play.
I honestly don’t understand why an athlete doesn’t understand other athletes and their sports of choice. Kinda basic stuff we’re dealing with here.
And yeah, they play it because it’s fun. Obviously…
Not everyone who plays or who starts with roller hockey even has access to an ice rink.
A lot of players like me used to play ice hockey in the past and living on an island - Maui, so we all playing inline hockey here three times a week, big community here…
