- Canadian phenom Connor Bedard strung together the best scoring performance at a world junior hockey championship in 20 years, leading his country to its 20th gold medal! Here are some of Bedard's best plays of the tournament

The fact it required a 13 minute video to have all of bedards highlights from 1 tourney is insane !
@@AstroBear11 don’t question it. Just sit back and enjoy a good thing.
@@AstroBear11 show me your highlights with 4 replays then speak.
@@sammcdow1320 show me yours💀
@@AstroBear11 W
@@AstroBear11 and when you watch the video and see it once you’ll need to go back and see it again so this gives you the opportunity to watch the highlight more then once to fully appreciate the plays! Sit down bud ;)
I can't imagine the pressure off ice and on this kid must face. The best highlight is his gold medal post-game interview where he didn't want to talk about what he accomplished, he wanted to talk about what the team accomplished.
A class act already at 17, and a credit to his parents and hockey organizations.
(rumour has it Slovakia is still looking for 4 jocks)
@@improbablecontinent It totally is our standard though. Look at Tavares, Crosby, McDavid.. all unselfish and borderline boring
Absolute class act🤙
That OT goal against Slovakia was unreal. Reminiscent of Bobby Orr when it looked like he was the only one that knew how to skate or play hockey at times!
chill
It's not just the shots he takes, but the shots he doesn't take despite knowing he has a scoring chance. He trusts and respects his teammates.
Those no look passes are seriously another level. He makes a pass look like a scary shot
He will need to cut that out if Chicago drafts him
@@JohnM-sw4sc 😂
That diving hook saucer pass in the final game left me speechless.
That was a beauty
Yet to see someone so good at hockey while flying through the air.
He scored a goal with the Pats in his first or second game ever where he Bobby Orr'd the crease and golfed the puck mid air as it bounced off the ice into the top corner. I swear I heard a moose jaw fan scream like someone had been shot out of pure disbelief lmfao.
Too bad Stankoven couldn't finish. He set up 4 Golden chances in that Gold medal game but his teammates couldn't finish
And the guy who passed to him will be his teammate on the Hawks, big Del Mastro.
I'm glad the highlights aren't just his goals, but plays like that reverse toe pick pass that might otherwise be missed!
Even then, they forgot to include the diving pass from the gold medal game. Suchanek robbed him of a highlight reel assist.
Bedard to Korchinski is a thing of beauty. It will be for years to come 🤗
Reichel-Bedard-Korchinski future Chicago Blackhawks number one line.
We also have Del Mastro and Allan on that team 👍🏼
@Clyde Norwood Jr. - Korchinski plays D. But Colton Dach is a forward, he'd look good with Reichel and Bedard with Korchinski and Allan on D, or Korchinski and Del Mastro.
@@thunderbuddy88 My fault.
Can’t forget Nazar and Moore.
One thing I like about Bedard is the amount of grit he has. Crosby is similar, both are highly talented players who aren't afraid to make grunt level plays. Crosby recently went feet first into the boards to keep a puck in the offensive zone and Bedard at the world juniors dove to sweep the puck onto his teammate's stick. These types of plays are what separate the greatest from the great.
Yet he’s still very humble, which is something I always admired with Crosby.
Hopefully he carries that humility into the NHL
You mention that time Bedard dove to pass the puck. Even more magnificent was the defensive dive when his stick was purposely upside down to knock away the puck on a breakaway. I rewinded to that 10X, and I am still speechless.
@@invictusanimi I agree, insane hand-eye coordination which truly is what makes elite players stand out. Remember when Crosby batted for goals out of mid-air?
its the second effort
Connor Bedard: new Chicago Blackhawks captain
Капитаном быть ему еще рановато
That Slovakia game OT goal was ridiculous, I was at the edge of my seat out for supper with my old man for my birthday, best gift I could’ve got was an atrociously disgusting Bedard OT winner. The bar went fucking nuts. 23’ juniors will be one to remember for a long time.
That slo mo of his eyes when he shoots that sharp angle shot is insane. You can literally see his decision making in real time and as soon as he sees that corner open he instantly releases it.
Amazing player. Joshua Roy did an amazing job too
Bedard, Roy, Guenther, Fantilli, Stankoven, Wright, Zellweger, Del Mastro, I could go on and on. Canada roster was so incredible this year
@@Eric-yc2kfnigga we know
This kid is simply something else lol
This World Juniors was must watch TV... Bedard is GOATED already after this tournament
That heart-breaker celly tho
NHL, you Bedard be ready cause here he comes!!
Love that TSN posts all these wjc highlights now!
Haha couldn't go to bed after a game without watching the longer highlights
Popping bottles from the crease is insane. The amount of lift and velocity he gets on his snapshots is crazy
Canada had stellar goaltending. Plenty of blocked shots too, sacrifice grit an heart . Wow what did we just witness! Thanks TSN
Brandt Clarke saved the gold breaking up the two on one after his clearing pass hit the stanchion. Clutch
Heard a lot of hype about this kid, but after watching these highlights, I think it's safe to say it's not overstated. Excited to see how he'll do in the NHL. Still pretty young, but these highlights are reminiscent of the Jack Hughes prospective highlights to me. You never know how they'll do off the bat if they join and start playing so young, but I think he's got a bright future.
This kid holds the stick the proper way. His left elbow is out giving more flexibility and quicker reactions with the puck. Turn pivot shoot much quicker than the arm against the body. When the arm is against the body it restricts passing shooting etc. some players to pass to there off side will need to turn there entire body in the direction of the pass. Amazing hockey player.
this kid has never looked nervous in his life. the way he skates with the puck is just so natural and calm
Love that Heave Away is the goal song! Real maritime feel there
I know most everyone hates it, but welcome to Chicago Bedard!!!!
can you imagine someday Bedard and Mcdavid playing together on the international level 🤤🤤
That would be insaneeee
I LOVE BEDARD
I’m really gonna miss this year’s World Juniors. I’m Canadian but is Was fun watching this in person. But it was so entertaining watching every team. Can’t wait for it to be back in Halifax and Moncton.
Just became a huge fan of this kid, holy cannoli he is unreal
i'm genuinely concerned there won't be another wjc as fun as this one was. this was spectacular.
A real delight to watch this young man play hockey. He's a treasure.
Gotta love Connor❤
He’s gonna be the 1st player to get drafted in the 2023 draft!!
I’m sorry but I have to say first
fax he is nutty
@@dawheels__9844 yessir
We will have to wait until the 2024 draft When he is eligible. Gotta be 18 by Sept 15 which has passed. Can't wait to see him in the NHL
@@ynotsammy yeah
@@Matty_The_Dangler_47 he’s ineligible for the draft by 10 days by the time he plays he’ll be old enough
This kid is insanely good he's gunna be a legend in the NHL. He only 17. Were looking at the next Crosby right now. Look at 12:22 the guy is already skating hard to the net knowing there's an opportunity. You don't see that at all even in the NHL.
or McDavid. Same first name as well
@uncle tham true lol
calm down. Bedard is literally Nail Yakapov 2.0, his goals just currently outshine his size and relatively poor decision making right now, just like Nails did.
hes far more likely to flop than be great. anyone who follows hockey deeply(podcasts etc/outside of mainstream media hype) know this, and talk about it daily.
@@b3n751 I mean with the way he played in this tourny you can't just excuse the potential this 17 year old has. Looking at McDavid in the same tourny he was pretty good, not amazing or anywhere near where he was when he got drafted. Give him another year of development and then we'll see where he stands
@@ynotsammy being good in juniors has zero translation to the NHL. More times than not the players flop.. people forget that. If everyone who dominated juniors played like that in the NHL every team would have 10 50 goal scorers.
If my kid ever decides he wants to play hockey i’m legally changing his name to Connor 🤣
13 minute video from 1 tournament is wild
5:57 Number 10 logan recovers from being tossed into the boards and keeps the puck alive for that setup. Beautiful commitment.
stankoven had a great tourney. good ol' kamloops boy.
Bedard is crazy😮
I love that WCJ has become almost like a NHL playoffs ❤️💪
And Bedard was on an absolute another level!
With love from RUSSIA 🇷🇺🇨🇦💪❤️
He looks more excited when he passes it to someone else to put in the net👍
One thing i like about the tournament is that they show the bench view when someone scores. I love seeing the reactions of the team when someone scores
Welcome to the Blackhawks! Can’t wait to see you live! 🤞
So Connor seems to be a top tier name for an ice hockey player
Ladies and gentlemen we got him
Bedard is insane
Of course I'm happy canada won , but damn... how many young players got their hopes and dreams annihilated by his talent in this tourney...
Lets just say a lot
This tournament was a huge success. 2 teams (might’ve)got their first ever medals.
This kid is insane, yet another good old Canadian boy just given'r.
This is this most Canadian thing i’ve ever read
@@vikman258 Hell ya
You Are my favourite 😻 player in a world 🌎 I’m so fan
Talented Very Talented Just Another Great Canadian At His Sport 🇨🇦💯
Amazing player!! Can't wait to see him on the NHL, all these records from only 1 tourny too. Can't wait to see more of him
@@adampeddle1083 ohh I got it now! Took me a second, new to the hockey! Thanks
Shoots like Auston Matthews, uses his edges like Mitch Marner, possesses the perseverance of Crosby, and has the vision of Gretzky.
1:57 the amount of power behind that shot is soooo beautiful
Absolutely, the way his stick flexes shows so much power
I can’t wait for Connor Bedards to go to Chicago or if I think but he will be awesome
This kid is a beast, hes gonna be one of the best in the world someday IF NOT the best. I wish him the best luck in the NHL😁
Future NHL super star. Going to be fun to watch his career.
The next Jordan Eberle!
This guy is amazing to watch. I pray the hockey gods bring him to Montreal to play with their young core of Caufield, Suzuki, slafkovsky, dach, and hopefully PLD soon too
He will go to the Oilers just so we can watch him, McDavid, and Draisital make highlight play after highlight play.
@@lukedawg2787that’s gonna be tough to get him drafting at 56 guy😂😂😂
Amazing!
I’ve watched this at least 87 times now
Same 😂
The way he release the puck…🤯
absolute beast
Let’s go!!❤💪🏻🇨🇦
Somehow Bedard at a higher level. I did't watch all the WJHC games just now, but every one I did was a highly skilled challenge for all involved. Super fun to watch. PS: This TSN Game play announcing team is the best.
Any player with the first name Connor, sign him.
great player
awesome
Cant wait to see him in a hawks uniform 👍
And also, I can't wait to see Joshua Roy play with Montreal
The overtime goal will live on forever
wow just wow
Will you do also video about Tomas Suchanek? he got 4 points, definitely best forward from czech team.
Welcome to Chicago babyyyy
He’s a beauty
The last time I heard "nano second" in relation to a shot was Alexei Kovalev's shot when playing for Montreal.
Damn that ot winner was filthy. Whatever team lands this kid is gonna completely flip the script.
what a goal
I know he's only 17 but to make it through the grind of the NHL season and playoffs he's going to put on more meat but that comes when his body matures.
He’s already 185 pounds that’s not that small for a 17 year old. Plenty of good NHLers who weigh even less then him and have half the talent
Yeah I mean he’s 5”10( not short) 185 lbs… that’s pretty good for 17 years old. He’s not even a man yet
He is a great player but also has superstar quality. He brings fanbase and sells tickets !!
Special special talent
Great talented kid. Will be a great one in the NHL.
I had my doubts honestly, but he’s the real deal.
Halifax crowd was amazing...
He’s a great player😮😮😮
How we feeling Hawks fans??!! Let’s go!!
Welcome to chicago, can’t wait for what your future holds !!
WAIT until he does all that at the united center in Chicago😊😊❤❤ the fans are going to be 10x louder!! 📢📢 it’ll be like the 2015, Stanley cup finals game 6 all over again
LETS GO CHICAGO FANS!!
Talent
9:54 The best as he was tired and it got Canada in semis.
Every games was a part of history
This kids NHL debut will be exciting I can’t wait to see it
Leveled at the blue line
Another talented Connor for team Canada. He absolutely dominated this tournament
Refs dominated more
@@siniaura They always do in the eyes of the losing teams, eh?

The best! NHL will fight for him!
He’s going places
anyone who wears a bowl/cage in the world juniors is going places🤣
Team Canada you Are Riduculous 🎊 🎉❤
Best player since McDavid.
I mean if we’re going if stats alone he’s the best player since Lemieux and Gretzky
@@floufay5209 I think you need some NHL stats before you compare. That would be McDavid.
@@timothyletwin5911 yeah I’m just comparing players from when they were in junior… I do agree that anything can happen when someone jumps to the NHL
@@timothyletwin5911 for all we know he might only put up 20-30 points in his rookie season but he could also be over a PPG
The amount of times I said unreal while watching him 🔥
"What a freak" heh

Anyone know what the same song/tune that was played right before puck drop each game was?
