You know JYP reminds me of the Uncle in the family who comes to the family reunion because everyone knows him and cannot wait to see what he's going to do this time. He doesn't care what anyone thinks he's going to show up and show out. But we still love him just the same.
Yes JYP does weird performances but never forget all the iconic groups like wonder girls, miss a, got7, twice, itzy, straykids that we got to see today is just because of JYP. He has not just created the iconic groups but also has written so many songs for their artists which are such a masterpiece. So overall he has my respect.
Honestly JYP is campy and he is actually very talented artist with a clear vision. He always delieveres with his artistry.
nah I would retire if my CEO do shit like that
Don't forget his first big artist, Rain. JYP always says that Rain helped him buy the JYPE building
Iconical groups? They all are loosing popularity, while Itzy is the most irrilevant in the company and in modern kpop industry.
Sorry this video even existing is so funny. I was cringing so hard at JYP’s recent live performance on the Blue Dragon Awards. That being said, this man knows what he’s doing. He knows he’s a meme, and he owns it! He hasn’t really been the greatest CEO, but he really does TRULY know what he’s doing. Oh JYP… you’re really an enigma. 😂
Hehehe he’s the best he makes us so happy with his ridiculousness
When he did that Sweet Dreams cover… that was really something. Atleast he always manages to entertain us in his unusual ways.
Exactly😂😂 he memes himself😂😂
The latest performance he did was amazing I loved the mashup and the outfit change at the beginning was iconic as was the dancing!
Yes I was like what the 🏒🏒
Well, no one ever accused him of not being entertaining. 😅 He knows what he's doing.
JYP Entertainment "Leader in ENTERTAINMENT", he even called his company like that
It's just unfortunate that K-Pop overly obsesses over casually attractive looks and gender conformative performances.
I love NewJeans and the new generation too, but seeing them getting so much praise at such a young age that they probably don't even understand the scale of what they do and then this man who built himself from the ground up put his heart out and be ridicularized like that made me feel bad. People aren't truly looking for just art and entertainment. We are intoxicated by an ageist beauty cult.
👏 👏 👏
LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK
WELL SAID.AGREED WITH U.I WISH PEOPLE WOULD TALK MORE ABOUT THESE UNDERRATED LEGENDS...2 PM...BEAST...JYP....THEY ARE ALL WORTH TALKING ABOUT..NOT THAT I DISLIKE WHEN PEOPLE TALK MORE ABOUT 4TH GENERATION, IM JUST SAYING THESE LEGENDS WHO GET TO MAINTAIN THEIR IMAGE AFTER YEARS IS INSANE EFFORT
it's quite passive aggressive and judgemental of people to write "is he okay?" in the thumbnails. It is nice to see people in the comments being supportive.
The people in the back need to here this LOUD AND CLEAR!!!!
😘💖TATIANNA PINK SAYS YO FABULOUS😘💖
Lets all appreciate jyp success, not every one outside their can go through what he went through to create his label, i salute jyp irrespective of any slush that comes his way. I stand with jyp.
I really need J.Y Papi’s confidence. That man has the most confident from any artist.
@@SamEricLlort I'm not sure how much is confidence and how much is he's too rich to need to care 😛
Seriously though he places a lot of value in trainees being able to show confidence (see: Nizi Project, A2K)
JYP has a keen eye for talent and also usually knows what type of criticism works best for different trainees
people always talk about his performances for weeks after they happen, the man KNOWS what he's doing
JYP absolutely knows that getting dressed in a basic suit and doing a ballad would give him a round of applause, but no memorability. The man isn't delusional -- he knows that being strange and making some of the audience uncomfortable makes people pay attention.
the embodiment of "he knows what he's doing"
That’s what I admire about jyp. He does what he likes despite people’s eyes. I like this part of him. And I respect that.
Liking something doesn't mean it's always right or comfortable
@@tingle2323 you’re right, nobody or anything is perfect.
I dunno. I think it’s admirable for someone to continue to perform how he does without giving a single bother about what anyone says or thinks. I can’t help but think if he were 20-30 years younger, we would even be calling his performances “weird” or “cringy”. We all have to acknowledge that ageism is rampant in KPop. People shouldn’t have to tone themselves down or change themselves just because society made a stupid, arbitrary rule saying people of a certain age shouldn’t behave or dress a certain way. It’s certainly worse for women, but men face ageism too. Let the guy do what he wants. If he’s having fun and not hurting himself or other people, there’s really no harm in how he performs.
this this this
I would say ageism is just in the music industry in general. Which is a shame but it comes down to relatability imo. Older fans can’t relate because his music is very similar to younger kpop acts today and younger people can’t relate to him because he is an older man utilizing a younger aesthetic and sound. Classic MADONNA effect lol. It’s sad but it’s true 😢 but I do hope we can all get past the “you have to be in your 20s to do pop” phase soon.
I think he's really interesting and keeps relevant in a harmless way. You see western artists like JLo and Will Smith and Madonna trying to revive their popularity and it's all just ego. But JYP thrives at being a Meme and he's still active creatively behind the scenes. He's ok being made fun of and rides the popularity, as you can see he brought back the plastic pants
You guys can say what you want, I'm solidly behind him😂
I wish I had his confidence😅😂
Go JYP!💪🏾
The thing about JYP, you know when he's performing, it'll be UNFORGETTABLE
Korea can complain but ME..I LOVE IT. COME THROUGH KOREAN GAGA COME THROUGH. WE LOVE A SECURE MAN IN MUSIC
Korean Gaga 🤣🤣 i love this man’s creativity and his confidence
I actually envy him because of his confidence. This man is living his life without thinking what others would say! That's confidence right there!
JYP has had some weird performances but overall, he's amazing!
He has done some weird stuff like mismanaging Got7, making underage Tzuyu wear revealing clothes and make Momo go on a dangerous diet.
@@vixxexo6855 pppff gurl other companies has done worse. Don’t let me started with SM and YG 🙄.
@@vixxexo6855I don't know much about got7 but I'm pretty sure he doesn't manage the groups himself, I think they have different teams (i.e. team A, team B, etc.) that are responsible for different groups. And he didn't specifically tell Momo to only eat ice cubes, she had to lose a certain amount of weight before debut (not that I'm defending that, she shouldn't need to), and I think there were other judges at Sixteen too.
@@gardenyanoor1489So? They should all do better. What point were you trying to make?
he can't even sing lol be fr
Idk whether he looked old then or young now, he's just never looked any different 😮
JYP is a very smart man and he's at the point in his life where he stopped caring what the rest of the industry thinks of him forever ago. Dude is a cringe meme and he owns it. I also think with the Blue Dragon performance he intentionally trolled them because it's a black-tie event and we all know how boring those are. Plus you gotta give credit to a guy in his 50's who can dance like he's still in his 20's. He can laugh at himself and knows how to make an impression.
awww yes...black suit tie is already lame...see it everywhere...but with jyp...man he totally nailed it
Most of the criticism is ageist AF... if it's a younger idol doing weird shit it's brushed off as "unique" or "artistic". But since it's JYP people say it's "ridiculous". Let him be ffs. All idols have had bad performances, why can't he
He really is talented and I admire his confidence
Unpopular opinion: This guy's awesome! No JYP = no Twice, Itzy, Stray Kids, etc.
I love this man so damn much. Ppl are so mean to him judging his performances- when are they going to realize he’s giving us GOLD and we need to be nice
Well when u make uncomfortable there's no wrong to judge him
@@tingle2323 huh?
"leading to fans not taking him as seriously as he would have liked"
I question the validity of this statement. I think JYP's a clown, and he knows it. He's never been shy about allowing his groups to make fun of him publicly (see 2PM, Sunmi, TWICE) and joking with them. Dude is a born entertainer and having a sense of humor is *gasp* part of being entertaining.
I think the only people who take JYP too seriously are his antis. He's an easy target. Like consider how resilient you'd have to be to make it as a not conventionally attractive person in the K-pop. JYP took his weakness as an "ugly" artist and used it to his advantage to become a K-pop jester of sorts. At the same time, he's undeniably one of the biggest names in the industry while his antics give haters a sense of superiority. His performances are cringe but everyone's talking about them. Isn't that the definition of fame?
#JYPDaddy is the Icon the world didn’t ask for or needed …. He is the legend we deserved !!!!
This comment made me pause and sigh.😢 well, said 👏🏿 👌🏽 💯
the legend of Nightmares and Punishments
i chocked omfg😭
@@ambercariaso4464😘💖ROASTED😘💖
For me JYP is the only idol that doing REAL ENTERTAINMENT
Cuz 4generation in idol not that entertaining anymore so I think JYP deserve his popularity and respect
This generation of stans are kids. Age wise and mentally. No one cares about their feelings. Jyp is a legend and I'm glad to see him doing him, regardless of age
If he was American, none of this would be a problem. Korea clearly had no problem with him having a long lived career
I'm tired of people acting like HUMANS are supposed to act accordingly, depending on where they're from. Humans like what they like and will do what makes them happy. As long as it's not illegal, people should stop crying
No one can top JYPs Confidence thats for sure and thats what i love about him😁😁😁
His performances have not been extremely weird, or even weird. His last act isn’t even original since he was wearing a gown inspired heavily by Billie Porter. I did laugh at him to start with. But then, I come to admire him. Both JYP and Bang PD are obviously smart men. He is not ridiculous. He is brave and he pushed boundaries. Unlike one of his idols Rain, he is no longer CEO now and can do whatever he wants. If he can just have a good song.
It keeps his name in the loop! It’s working just as expected! Keep up the great work JYP 🔥🔥🤩🤩🤩👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love him or not…. You gotta respect this man 🥂🥂
he is the icon, he is the legend, he is the moment
now come on now
Oh, come on! Complaining about JYP being outrageous is like complaining about outrageous behavior from Lady Gaga, David Bowie or Elton John. ... Yeah, he's crazy. Always has been. Yeah, he does weird stuff. He always has.
And, BTW, Sunyoung's jaw may have dropped at that moment, but she was also later seen totally loving the performance!
He's a legend
Weird or not. He has confidence to do what he wants. He knows ppl makes fun of him, still he does it.
Hey, as long as he's happy, i dont care what people think of him.
Not gonna lie…I kinda love the man 😂,he’s talented ,works hard, and slays. He owns it 🤷♀️
i love him too.idc if knetz are saying he is too full absorbed, too full of himself, love the lime light...even gave him idiotic expressions.people being bitter for jyp standing out to be rare in the k-entertainment.why are people embarassing him and bashing him for screamingg aunthenticity and wanting to be different?he is not a rookiee he is a legend he knows he doing !!!
LMAO I was juat watching his performance at the award show. Perfect timing lol
I really think he made mistakes, but this guy is a living legend. He is hilarious and I cringe so hard watching his performances, but at the same time it makes me laugh and that leads to me being happy. Thanks Jyp❤️
If JYP didn’t exist, you wouldn’t get the amazing groups like stray kids, twice, Itzy, nmixx, got7, miss a, wonder girls and many more.
EXACTLY
I realize, but he should still treat his own groups better especially Skz
@@CreativaArtly I agree.
@@CreativaArtlyare you updated? PD Park hasn’t been the CEO of JYP since 2011. The current CEO is Mr. jung Wook as per Google. So if anyone had a say on how to manage the current JYP artists it’s probably the CURRENT CEO. But of course PD Park has more say on the trainees for the reality shows and the artistic side of some of the artists like songwriting and producing.
@@amalilconfused yeahhh
I bet if jyp was "attractive" in the same sense as most idols people would call what he is doing art. Lets be real he is doing art that quite frankly nobody would ever think of beacause they wanna stay and look "pretty" sometimes its good to get down and dirty every once in a while
I want the confidence that JYPapi exudes!!
the story behind his plastic pants is fascinating to me. He was trying to encourage change to the system. No glasses, no hair dye? WTF? Kudos to JYP to speak out at a time when he's probably got banned for it
Ok so JYP is indeed a very... special dude but honestly it's refreshing to see him vibing and doing his own thing when kpop is so rigid with rules. Some fun flexibility is needed at times.
New generation kpop, can't comprehend what true talent is.
😻💖JAY WHY SLAY 😻💖: MOLLAAAAAAA🗣️🗣️🗣️
Because of the artist he has on the walls of his building, I respect JYP
As a 2nd gen fan he gets so much respect from me but his recent years performances are not what I expect from him. The way he used to expect perfection in his artists I expect close to that from him too.
He just dgaf 😭 respect lmao
I like, JYP a very solid human being helps the artists at JYPE good person been doing this for 30 years ❤❤❤
Good for him!
Icon. His NMIXX “Love Me Like This” dance challenge lives rent free in my head. 😂🕺💥
Please for the love of kpop… don’t let JYP end up being a rock spider. He’s great with his artists, please we can just have one good-guy entertainment ceo.
I mean he kicked out Jay Park from 2pm for some nonsense
@@penultimania4295 That was a scandal that went public, so his hand was kinda forced there…
The bigger mystery is kicking Jinni out of NMIXX -- not a whiff of scandal, plus it's company policy to never give a reason (and she won't say either), so no one knows why
u have not moved on from jay park?he has his own company now and is a successful person too now..i admire jay park and 2 pm too.i am a hottest too.but never did i hold grudge against jyp for that issue cause we never know what the root cause is.for what obvious is the jay park sns account being racist and spread hatred towards the korean...why do u have to blame jyp for that?he is doing what he needs to do.if not...the whole 2pm would be casted away from society because of this.remember that the whole member had to lay low dueing this period.@@penultimania4295
At this point idk how tf how I feel about JYP, his career has been all over the place. He has insane confidence, knows the industry, has influenced ripples that have effected the very foundations of kpop. But he also refuses to leave the stage without being "different" and has made some questionable decisions as a boss. He seems both fun loving and silly but also seems to make some ridiculous demands and is cringey. I seriously don't know how to feel about this guy!
I kinda respect him more for being this ridiculously cringe 😂 I think it’s a good way of continuation of breaking the boundaries of k-pop. People are so serious about everything nowadays ( And sometimes it doesn’t leave a place for fun and doesn’t make idols’ lives easier. But we need to remember that it’s an entertainment industry! So let’s have fun and cringe 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It’s called TALENT!!
At least he's creative. And still gets attention. Its not easy to stay relevant for so long.
Jyp paved the way for kpop. Facts....❤
I recently discovered JYP. I am definitely a new fan now. I love his two songs At The Disco and I'm a Changed Man along with his choreography. He is very innovative and talented. I enjoy his different ways very much. Some people are stuck in their boring lane and won't change or experience new things.
Netizens and those actors don't know what ironic glam and funny shameless performances are and it shows. JYP is iconic.
I agree. Whats the point of this video again? Maybe the MZ would laugh at him but all that aside they would remember him as well. As you know in kpop visibility is the one most important thing to do either negative or positive, visibility is still the best thing to do to thrive in the industry. And for someone of his stature i dont think he would mind the negativity for him i think is that he express what he wanted to do. So in the end he is happy to do things he like may it be at the cost of his legacy or not. Again my question, what is again the point of the video? If you have an answer to this question you are probably bother by jyp's eccentricity. If you dont have an answer that means you accept that anyone can express his or her feelings without fear and you can always dont mind the public and their critique of everything and anything simply because theyre hiding at the guise of their keyboard.
His style is too Hollywood. In Korea they find him weird, but in USA that would be just so normal.
Crazy or not, I am a Forever JYP fan!!!❤❤
He's a man doing what he wants, because he can, have fun and enjoys it. I applaud that. I kindda envy the guy.
I don't understand why kpop fans get so serious and riled up over this. Kpop is supposed to be fun, and he's out here trying to bring fun and spontaneity back to the scene.
jyp came from a time when kpop was interesting, look at the outfits they wore, even up to the time of big bang, now it's like kpop is going conservative, and fans judge artists who look "extreme" negatively, it became really lame
As cringe as he may appear sometimes you can't deny that man HAS TALENT. Like he has left an unremoval mark on the kpop industry and is a respected figure. But tbh THE CHILDHOOD PHOTO OF HIM HE LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME LMFAOOOOOO ITS LIKE HIS BODY GREW BUT HE'S FACE GOT STUCK IN TIME. I was laughed so hard my fianceé came to check on me and laughed her ass off too
Don’t you guys get it??? He’s doing an Andy Kaufman on the K-Pop industry!!! Genius!!!!
THEY WERE ROOMATES :0
Let him be. We need all sorts in the world. In the West his performance would’ve been greatly appreciated, for us it’s not about the perfect choreographed performance, it’s about expressing yourself 😂
The fact he managed to create a label back when SMTown was firmly in place and did it say YG was already in place? If it was that is all the more impressive he is a mainstay as a big record label being that late.
I am a fan of his stuff. I like "Honey" and "Swing Baby" and "A Prison Without Bars" plus the song he did with Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" riff. I have to say I think the "Honey" dance is cheesy though, sorry Park Jin Young.
I also respect the man for still hustling and trying to create new stuff even when they try age shaming him. The same respect extends to him being the ONLY label to serve his trainees Organic, no GMO's or anything to make people sick. If I had a kid who wants to do music in South Korea, Park Jin Young would be the only choice because of this unless the others change their food accordingly.
I have to call him out on canning Park Jiyoon though seeing those pants. When did JiYoon cross the line or was he being sexist and expecting different standards for her over him? By the way, the music video for "Sung In Suk" is brilliant and fits the lyrics while being subtle though likely not for the Asian audience.
I guess the performances look weird to Asian audiences, but a western audience they look fine. The transparent jumpsuit is 🔥🔥🔥
JYP knows how to market himself and his groups indefinitely longer than it should be or as fans should expect to be and I really applaud him for that❤
He's sexy, funny and iconic. The perfect entretainer and daddy
He looks like everyone’s crazy uncle. Like, Oh-Kaaaaay….
JYP is That Guy
i have no idea if jyp is a good person behind closed doors but he seems like it and i feel like we don’t see a lot of good people in kpop production
I think he is iconic PERIOD. If some people are bigots, worse for them
i stan jyp but i only stan him because of the memes😂
He is just having fun and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
I agree with your post
After watching how sweet and encouraging he was with the girls in A2K, I’ve changed my mind about him. Prior to that I thought he was an ego-maniac, and while that might be true in part, I kind of love how he doesn’t take himself seriously. He’s breaking Korean beauty standards, challenging some of the more restrictive and illogical social rules, and having a blast in the process. All while being the force behind some of the most important acts in K-pop. Icon.
The biggest question is why did he eliminate Sean from Nizi 2 when he praised him the whole time for being idol-level and with immense star quality but because he, in his eyes, was a second off from the other performers when dancing he’s cut? Make it make sense JYP #IYKYK
Kyungsoo ❤
We're living in his world. We just haven't accepted it lol
JYP has become a meme! When did it happen? Probably when he appeared out of nowhere in the middle of 2pm' new year performance. I hope he keeps doing whatever he's doing 😹
JYP is really not the best artist but he’s definitely one of the most iconic/meme worthy. 🤣 Also he’s probably my fave big 4 company CEO, in that he’s the right amount of closeness with his artist, hands on the artists works, and also not letting their trainees be limited by their looks. I think his and Bang PDs experience as artists definitely shaped how they ran their company - integrity, to concentrate on hard work, slowly but surely, humility, and to show their passion in all their performances. Bang PD is my second fave company CEO/exCEO next to JYP.
The problem is not with Jyp performance but the audience's reaction. All of them acted like they were on a governmental occasion so cringe! He will be much appreciated in the western. Even I'm not a fan of him, but can't tolerate such a weird reaction!
The thumbnail said everything🙃
I see him as doing all of this to help promote JYP, the company. There's always something to talk about with that bunch. He's like VCHA is gonna debut and NMIXX is dropping an album, time to wear eyeliner 😅
atleast he's SINGING LIVE! most of the idols today lipsync or can't even sing.
At times I really don't like JYP and his attitude towards trainees and hopefuls (criticizing Rain for his looks and telling a girl that her dancing would be better if she lost weight) but then I remember he wrote Feel Special for Sana.
Ok they ain’t pretty but funfact: plastic pants were invented by JYP as a concept to criticize the broadcasting stations’ bans. Back then, you could be banned for wearing sunglasses, earrings or even dyed your hair. They’re ugly but that was kindof a genius marketing move since it caught a lot of attention bc everyone was shook with an idol appearing in underwear.
01:18 correction, that was not "another version of the story" that was just self-defense on part of Lee So Man, because everyone in Korea knows that the original story was what Lee So Man only wanted to buy his song "Don't Leave Me" and not him, there was even a KBS show where in a segment the host said "what did Lee So Man say to JYP when he auditioned for SM?" and the audience of guests literally responded "you are not accepted but can i buy your song?", then the host reported that JYP said "it is not for sale" and left.
Reminds me of the VINE THEY WERE ROOMATES
I love JYP's music since it has a bit of a retro vibe.
I want his confidence
He is happy That is what matters😆
Jyp is a king😭👑he dgaf
💅💕😍LIKE TATIANNA PINK💅💕😍
💖😏TATIANNA PINK IS PRETTY INK PINK💖😏
That fade though got the same hair when I was younger 2:07
I think the over the top thing is part of his image. The outfits and the dancemoves make me laugh so hard sometimes and his songs are mostly pretty catchy too. I don't think it was the plan for him to be taken seriously as an artist otherwise I think he would have toned down a bit. His last performance with the white dress and purple jumpsuit was a total mess and chaos on stage. I didn't like it much but it did fit his image. I think it's just a way to express himself because the artists he does manage/managed by JYP don't seem to do such over the top stuff.
Love him or hate him, jyp is without a doubt eccentric. He's just as influential as Seo Taiji in the Korean music industry.
He's the Korean Tomny Wiseau!😂
