    3:16 pace and you can still casually chat while running. That's like my flat out sprint 1K time, lol.

      iv'e had one guy running barefoot in front of me during one of my 10k races, he finished in 37 minutes while i finished just over 37:30, literally got me SO mad

    My first Great North run, managed a sub 2 hours with a 1h56m. The whole day was amazing from the support to the weather. Looking forward to Berlin myself, hope to see you there.

    No way! I was literally right in front of you in the start blocks (definitely not at the end). I'm the tool with both hand in the air just before we go - still sporting my Belrin marathon 2018 wrist tag. haha.
    Gonna get this shared and tagged as you run with/pass so many of our club runners. Great time too 😁

    Hi Ben, very impressive running and congrats on being the first non-elite! I was the guy in the Bath vest who spoke to you at the start line, and also waved at the camera at about 3:45! It was nice to meet you, and maybe again at Frankfurt (but probably about 20 minutes behind you!)

      Ben Parkes 3 minute PB of 1:17:15 for me, so obviously very happy! I set off a little quickly (probably because of the camera!) but managed to keep it going

    Hi Ben - followed your advanced HM plan and ran GNR in 93 mins. First ever race (first ever run in a group) so pretty happy with that. Birmingham Half in just under 4 weeks. Thanks +++ for all the content!

    You just brought the whole day back for me so thank you! Such an amazing experience. Been running just over a year and my 1st GNR, was very happy with my 1.52 finish. Will definitely be doing it again

    You finished and I had only just crossed the start line.

    Impressive run! I was wondering : What are those stickers above your knees after the run?

      They are pads for my Compex machine.. just forgot to take them off after using it post race!

    Absolutely inspiring mate. I recently ran a 5K PB (22:47) while being 10.5 kg heavier than last year when I ran a 22:54. You make me want to really focus and go sub-20 some day soon.

    Well done Ben it's such an iconic event and you managed to capture it. The GNR back in 2004 was my first ever race and I have been lucky enough to do it twice since then in 2009 and 2015. Hoping to go back next year for the 40th anniversary and give sub 80 a go

    My wifes dad did a 69min gnr many years ago which I always find incredible but running that time while chatting and videoing is beserk! Well done! My best was 2h1m

    Good run there Ben, I ran it this year dressed as Batman and managed a 1.23 finish, again like every year the crowds are just amazing for the full course, over in Berlin next week too for the big day

    I ran *35km* in Chamonix with a GoPro... but in 8 hours 😆 super GREAT time and video yet again Ben, really enjoyed it. Well done, wishing you well :)

    Tough course. A long way from being flat. Tough incline around 11 miles if I remember rightly.

    Göteborgsvarvet in Sweden has 60 000+ runners, and is also a half marathon. I think its the biggest there is.

    Ran this a few years ago. Managed to get sub 140 not my fastest but good enough. Very good race overall the atmosphere is like no other.
    24 hours coach journey. Spread over the weekend. Plymouth and back

    Thx for the upload. really enjoyed this video. I cant understand how you can chat and film at the same time, now I understand how my sis feel when Im chatting in our run =P My training is going pretty bad. 12 Okt I gonna do my first Ultra 50 km ( trail/ road. And yeaster day I did my long run 19 km and I almost die and it wasnt my hardest tempo

    Ben, could You do video about your progress? How you started, what You gave biggest progress and that staff. Would be really awesome. I know, there is old video You showing your first marathon but You manage to improve so much that's nearly amazing. I would improve myself at least half like you. Please do this kind of video :)

      Haha fair enough thought they were some sort of new pain relief pads maybe. Congrats on the time though I'd love to run that time. I'm currently in training for my first road marathon in Chester in October training for 3.15 but hoping more around 3.05/10 🌱💚🖤

    With a heavy training schedule for a big race... do you ever have days or weeks where you are mentally fatigued? You know when you know that you need to do that big training run but you aren’t bursting out of the front door to do it? How do you over come that?
    I am training for my 2 nd marathon of the year (with a big PB in mind) and last week I just felt a bit mentally lethargic and was desperate for some sort of pick-me-up / inspiration.
    How do you deal with those moments?
