1:10 Scroll with the _left_ mouse button?? Huh? For me, that does a box select. Scrolling is middle mouse button. Are my Blender settings non-default? I thought this was the default...
Well ..... yes. That's a mistake. It's most definitely MMB and (when it comes to scrolling at least) there's nothing out of the ordinary about your Blender settings. I think I got a little lost in wave after wave of keyboard shortcuts and this blunder escaped unseen into the wild. There's a neat way to fix the issue - I think... but in the meantime I'm pinning your comment. You saw something and you said something. Thank you
Extra note , some times getting out of a node group that does have many node groups inside it can be really hard using tab , so the better way to exit a node group is ctrl+tab And man keep going , i really love your videos 🔥
Unbelievable production quality on these - bravo! Great tutorial too. If UA-cam is a rational market, it should only be a matter of time before your efforts are rewarded with much higher view counts. Keep at it!
level 4: add the shortcut `O`. this connects geometry to the output of the current group (as appsed to ctrl + alt + RMB, which connect it to the most outter output).
Yes. It's not in level 4 because it's a node wrangler shortcut. I should have included it in level 5 though. I left quite a lot out in that level because I thought that 15 minutes was a lot for a parade of shortcuts. I'll include 'O' in future versions though. Thank you!
@@harryblends hmm i remember it working with node wrangler disabled. I don't use it; i only suggested it since i remembered it being built it. but i could be mistaken. I guess i have to check it up again.
That mention of the trouble with Shift+D generating nodes in *precisely* the same spot is very important. I once spent *hours* debugging a complicated node setup where I must have accidentally Shift-D'd a whole load of nodes and not moved them at all. I honestly wish there was an indicator for that.
It's happened to me so many times. In a complex setup it can be so hard to diagnose you start to lose confidence in your sanity. An indication that a node is overlapping another would be great.
5:48. This is such a well put video, that I hesitate to mention you say control+shift+D to duplicate with links, but the box on the screen says control+alt+lmb... 😅
Ah. Thank you. The irony is - it says the wrong shortcut because I used shift+D to duplicate the one that said Ctrl+Alt+LMB. Oh, well. I'll fix it in the file. I'll probably need to do an update of this video before too long and will acknowledge your keen observation skills when I do ....
@@harryblends I'm very familiar with the disadvantage of duplicates: they have all that we want to keep, but none of what we want to change... If only there was a way to tell whether something is an identical clone of the original, or just its sibling... 😂

Awesome work. BTW if you are a Neanderthal like me who still uses 'right click select' and ''Emulate Three Button Mouse'' then some of these shortcuts may not work.
Thank you. I can imagine that some of them won't. Sadly. That's the trickiest thing with input related blender tutorials - there's so much customization that we can all do.
I wonder how do you make these hybrid animations where you dynamically switch from a playback to actually modeling like at 0:30 ? Is your cursor movement pre-recorded ? Thanks
It’s a composite of a screen-capture of the 3d viewport and a render of the same animation (with transparency). There’s a crossfade in the middle of the move to blend them together. The mouse is from the capture - I had the blender window smaller than full screen so I could move the mouse in from offscreen. The animation/setup is in the file available for free on my patreon - www.patreon.com/HarryBlends

Terrific job on this. I learned some new things and had fun watching it.
Quickly becoming my favorite blender channel. Amazing work, Harry!
Thank you!
u need an award for ur last 2 vids on Geo nodes
Thank you
15:35 I'm glad you didn't delete the Jam Sandwiches node, and I can't explain quite why.
You should never delete your jam sandwiches
0:28 OMG That transition 🤯
Ha. Thanks. Almost the entire tutorial is in the geometry node editor so I wanted to make something visually distinct while I could
@harryblends You're tutorials are so interesting visually. Do not stop Dude 🙏
What a great spirit in the effort of teaching. Thank you!

@@harryblends it's not a node wrangler shortcut. it's built in. otherwise i wouldn't have mentioned it.
I just checked. It doesn't work without Node Wrangler enabled, and is listed under Node Wrangler's Hokey List in the add-on tab

Wow, just wow! thank you!
One of The best best videos on the internet ❤
Thanks, but have you seen the one with two kids terrified of the rabbit?
I have sworn my life to the"Re-route" gods;

and our nodes are clean.
ur 4.2 LTS showcase has me LOL'ing, cheers m8

@@harryblends losing confidence in your sanity is exactly right! It's a major UX pet peeve tbh
very cool. didnt know a lot of these even though Ive been doing geometry nodes for quite a while
Thanks. I was surprised by how many I'd never heard of when writing this. It's a really impressive set of tools
I'm going to have to watch this again and take notes. Learned too much to remember it all on one viewing,
Awesome video, very useful

you missed alt while moving a node over a noodle prevents it from auto connecting.
😻 Thanks!

Do we need to have a chat with Gary? Perhaps in a dark alley?

Checker Deselect might be what you're looking for.
@mechanought3495 unfortunately not because in geometry nodes there is no node like that because it's all procedural
