@@westcoastbushcrafters you're Very welcome! It's our pleasure. I'm very happy to see our designs getting used! And we always love objective feedback 💪🙏
It was a real pleasure to test the knife out😁👍. One day we will order the TRC DBK Bushcrafter. That will be fun to make a video about in the Swedish forest here😁🤘! Take care and keep up the good work 💪
It’s funny how the same knife can come so differently for different people - mine came with a really sharp spine, it was sharper than the actual blade edge in fact haha, the blade felt like a wide butter-knife haha. I love the way it looks and the way the handle fills out my hand, plus the wood has a good grippy feel to it. Great video!
Thank you very much! A pity to hear that it has a variation of sharpness. Hope you managed to get it hair popping sharp! Maybe someone was hangover......
Excellent real life test of both knives, keep up the great content guys, oh and I'd love one of your cool WestCoast caps, Slainte for now and happy father's day , Seamus 🍻
I also really love my B1, its so good and at the same time has such a good price that you really want to work with it without being afraid of destroying it... just great
You guys are one of the very best knife channels on UA-cam! When I first saw your site I thought it was featuring Northwest Washington where I live, but when I found out it was Finland I thought this is even more fun. Thanks 🎸🔪
So happy to hear that you are liking our videos! Big compliment to be called one of the very best knife channels! Thanks for that! Hope you like Sweden, because that is where we live ;-) and filming. Finland is not that far away though:) Thanks a lot!
In my collection ive three BPS knives, the BP1 i use often. Why change a perfectly good cheap knife ? A friend had the bushmate and as many, the scales came lose after only moderate use. I never use a knife for anything other than a cutting tool, preferring to carry a small hatchet and folding saw for other tasks. Even so, the original Bp1, almost a year of use, absolutely no problems.
I own both of your presented knives. The Bushmate had to be exchanged for another as it wouldn't throw a spark and the leather sheet was too loose. The B1, did have an issue with the wood handle shifting a bit. But the B1 is my favorite
Wow, awesome! Thanks guys!!! 😀😀 Another great video! Was curious how these two knives would compare against each other ever since the Bushmate came out 👍
Hi bushcrafters, today was great! At the beginning, you loaded him, a nice spruce branch and the very suk! Making a fire was also nice, I say that since there is no edge even on the back of the blade, it is no fun! You solved the sharpening of the back of the blade nicely in the field, great! I don't start a fire with a knife blade, but it's nice to know that it can handle it! Great guys, great video and you made me happy, good luck and good health!😉🔪🔥👌🌿🌲👍
Great video guys, it´s always fun to see both of you. I think the knives look cool, but I still have doubts regarding the steel. I will love to have a Cap!!! they look awesome!!! Skål!!!
Maybe I’d like a cap! Ha ha. Great video guys. I have the DBK version you used here. I was shocked at how small the handle was. It is still a great knife, I would prefer a larger handle though.
Sorry for the late reply! Well first of all, check out our new upcoming video ( still in progress) so you hopefully will be one of the lucky ones next time 😁👍 Happy to hear you liked the video. Just had to test the grip again before answering you. Indeed it is not that big but for us (size 9 gloves Hestra) it works well. But definitely not on the big side. “Lagom” they say in Sweden😉
I have both. Although I enjoy the DBK boys, I like the B1 better. Actually it’s become one of my favorites even compared to “higher end” knives. Only complaint is that I would like the edge to be ground closer to the handle.
Great! Must have been a fun comparison for you😄👍 Good point on the grounding / grinding closer to the handle. The knife grip itself is leaving you like a 7 mm grip from the steel( thumb not included, that lays in our case parallel to the steel almost) and than you have the part on the blade which is like 7 mm - 1 cm ? Would be a good optimisation to start the grind at least half of that length. Would you agree? = 5 - 6 mm shorter? Cheers😁👍
@@westcoastbushcrafters bps is really making some nice and affordable knives. Like you, I sharpened the spine on the B1. Also, had to do a little sanding then oil on the handles. Still nice knives for the price.
Can not agree more. Sitting here with the two BPS knives in front of me now . Getting this bushcraft feeling with them. Specially with B1. Nice to see that the blade has so much metal. Classic 👌
First thing i did with mine.. take the scales off and filed the sharp edges dull... problem gone. The DBK one is pinned so i will see how long the scales stay in place
Thanks a lot! Unfortunately the cap contest is closed from that episode. Please write a comment on our latest episode ( beavercraft dusk) and you will be part of it! Thanks!
The sheath of the BUSHMATE does not hold the knife in place, and if you just pulled the knife out, you don't even need to open the snap because it's all loose fitting ,
Really enjoyed this video guys! Thank you for the awesome test and feedback!
Awesome to hear from you guys! Means a lot when it comes from the GOAT! Thanks Guys!!

Thank you! That will definitely be episode material 😁👍 Not planned yet but will make it for sure!
Another excellent video. I have the B1 and it's a very nice knife, especially for the money. Thanks for yet another entertaining, informative video.

Jeg vil gjerne har capsen! Spar frakt denne gangen og send den til nabolaget, til NORGE! 😅 Takker for bra bushcraft underholdning! 👍👍👍
Tackar så mye! Haha bra kommentar 😂👍. Du är med på lottningen 🥳😁👍

BPS makes some great Budget Bushcraft Knives. My fav is the BPS Savage.
The Savage looks awesome! Cool shape!
Great channel - i’d love a hat 😂

Where's the tip test? The sheath retention? The DBK girls even broke of the tip of the knife they 'designed' and tested.
We tested the knives out as we always do.
The Cap👌 want😇😆👌 and great video as always 👌
Thanks a lot! We will put you on the list😁🥳
Error, West Coast not Northwest. Still thanks 🎸🔪

Same here, when the B1 was stuck and used the bushmate for making a wedge I could pull it out without opening.
I wanna the cap please. 🌲🇨🇿
You are in the game🤘🥳
Well, obviously i want a cap as well
You are in the race!
Pacino and De Niro…
😂👍
