Thank you! I searched everywhere I could think of to find a solution for damages laminate. I'm going to try this on a cabinet. You are my favorite furniture flipper. I hope your channel takes off. You deserve it. 😁
Bought a house and they left some old furniture, some damage, some just needs updating. This video was incredibly helpful!! Thank you for taking the time to share.
Great tutorial! Investing in a airless sprayer would give a finer finish. Im a retired house painter and I refinish furniture too. Keeping things out of the landfill and making a great profit is very satisfying. Good luck to you in your endeavors 😊
Oh thank you for posting this!! I have this one Ikea particle board table and it’s annoying! I love the solution! Going to get these items tmrw and fix it tomorrow! 😘
Omg thank you!! This was so helpful I have a dresser right now that I gave up on and was just going to short myself when I sold it because I didn’t know what to do about those bubbles but now I will try this 😁
There is magic in your explaining . It has elevated me further in my wood working attempts . You’re engaging , authentic, helpful, and quick with your how tos and points made! I appreciate this upload from you , so thank you!
Thanks so much for this video! I have a sewing table that has some chips in the top and I can't sell it until that is fixed. I had so much trouble finding anything for laminate furniture until I found your video! Thanks again, I am trying this today!
I usually sand the bubbles out.. But cutting out the bubbles is a perfect idea. Thanks for the tip. I am also a flipper. I am definitely going to try this method.
Great job! I’ve got to tackle this same problem today and it’s much better than throwing it out. Very resourceful using the ice scraper as a putty knife 😂 gotta do whatcha gotta do! To anyone trying out any wood/drywall filling I highly recommend getting a putty knife (like she mentioned earlier) to apply the filler because it can save you time on sanding. They are only a couple dollars and can be reused for years if you clean them when you’re done
hi! i’m from asia, so i’m not sure if we have the same type of primer/paint, but may i know what paint you used? and did you or should i put a layer of varnish after? thanks for the video!
this is so great thanks!!! i didnt think of carving the damage out, what a great idea!! i found an amazing (albeit damaged) bar cart, my bf said “‘no way this can be fixed” WATCH ME!!!!
Thank you so much for this! I don’t know anything about repairing furniture and I definitely don’t want to waste another 100-200 bucks on another desk😅. I feel like those bubbles happen with ikea furniture
I picked up two free matching one long and one short dressers one of the side panels where the top meets has a swollen spot so I need to cut out about 5 x 6 inches, hope this works for me. Wished I could include a picture. Thanks for your video
I think the Original coating on your furniture is really melamine which is a much thinner material than a laminate. I’ve cut laminate before and it sure takes a lot more strength than what you demonstrated to get through it. All the same it’s a great tutorial and I’m excited to find it and be able to use it.
About 2 weeks ago I picked up a 9-drawer particle board dresser with a veneer top and thought it was the bees knees. Same situation, after I scrubbed it down I realized that the top had water damage and several spots where it was slightly raised. I was afraid of sanding into particle board to level it out so I decided to try putting a fresh veneer top on via contact cement. It probably would have been beautiful if I had someone help me but I did it solo and it ended up warping. As you can probably imagine.. it ended up being a sticky gluey mess. 😑 Back to YT this morning for a solution and decided to give this method a go. Before I could even start I had to sand off the contact cement and, now that I'm 2 weeks into this, I figured I'd sand the heck out of it all the way back down to the frame as an insurance policy. I'm gonna guess there was a 4mm veneer on top, or the dresser just knew I was totally over it. 😅I managed to level everything without exploding particles and without using a box cutter. So, long story short, this certainly helped me get things moving. Next time around I will definitely be slicing into it. TY! 💕
Oh wow!!! That sounds like so much work! I really hope it turns out Beautifully for you. Some of these projects can be so difficult but then it’s so rewarding at the end☺️
Thanks for the video! Quick 2 questions! Is it alright to screw and drill into this filler? and is it essentially the same process with an epoxy filler? I plan on turning a free old dresser into a pedestal style arcade cabinet. Im pretty much only worried about it holding the base of the joysticks.
I have drilled into wood filler but It sounds like If you could use an epoxy filler for your project that would be even better something like bondo or kwikwood. Yes, it’s the same process but you might be right using something stronger.
I was wondering the same thing. And actually, the paint you used looked very gray. But the finished piece was white. I’m confused as to why. Do you mind explaining?
I have this problem now. Thanks for the video. Question, do you think spackle would work just as wood filler? I'm trying not to run back to home depot.....again. lol.
I know a lot of people wouldn't bother with repairing particle board furniture, but I love how this keeps it out of the landfill 💚
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
I searched til my eyes bulged for this solution. I’m so grateful!! 🙏🏻🙂

Best repair for this. I did not cut out the raised spots and sanding it was a mess. I will use your methods next time
Thanks! There’s so much laminate stuff out there so this was nice to see. While I love real wood it just isn’t always easy to find anymore!
This was an amazing video on how to fix these bubbles. You saved my bathroom so that it doesn't have to be replaced..just fixed !

Wow!! This is great!! This may work for warped items too. Have a personal piece I may try this on first. Great tutorial! You rock!!
Yes! I always try to do a practice piece first when I learn something new 🤣 just in case. Thank you Melissa😊

Yes!!! Thank you. It’s so exciting 🥳

What type of primer did you use?
Youre amazing!!!! thank you! I had a flood in my sunroom that ruined 3 pieces of furniture.
Thank you for making this. Just helped me with an emergency 😊❤

Girl you are awesome!!! One thing I didn’t understand is that you painted with grey color but it turned out to be white when it’s done??
Thank you! Someone else said the same thing. It might just be the screen. It’s a light gray color.
Great job,,,beautiful
Love this!!!!! Thank you it works!!!!
Woohoo!!! Awesome! ☺️
Thanks gona give it a go. Some recommend primer before wood filer any reasons for this way round ?
I love this nice!
Thank you!

Possibly but it was hard as plastic! I’ve done this on a few surfaces now and a sharp razor blade is key!
Thank you for this!
Omg what a brilliant tip 👍🏽💕
Yeah this was a game changer for me!!
Amazing - I thought my dresser had measles!
Thank you, I’m doing mid century tables and there are a lot of bubbles in them. 😊
This is awesome! Could I do this on a laminate kitchen countertop that got some water in a seam and swelled up the particle board/wood?
can you put the name of the products you use?
Thank you!!!!!
😊💕
Fab video! Could use an old credit card or gift card instead of a spatula :)
Omg I’m terrified to try this 😂😂
What type of paint did you use? It was tan when wet but dried off white.

Where do you buy the paint and primer from?
Would that wood filler work on laminate countertops. I just want to fill it in and make it smooth before I put peel and stick over the countertop.
What's an alternative to dixie belle slick stick?
A product called Stix. Works great!
Do you think i can try wood glue instead of that wood putty you have? I don't have any of that at home but i do have wood glue 😅

@@FlipItFurniture awesome, thanks so much for the advice
Hi! Can you please tell me what kind of paint would you need to get to paint it after priming?
I usually use a primer first, Chalk paint second, and clear water-based polyurethane to seal.
I was wondering the same thing. And actually, the paint you used looked very gray. But the finished piece was white. I’m confused as to why. Do you mind explaining?
Would using a gel stain instead of paint also work with this method?
So after you primed it did you paint it grey then white?
Thanks! Saved my butt!!
What kind of paint did you use?
On this piece I used Farmhouse Paint that is the name of the company.
Bondo filler or bondo glazing putty is superior to wood filler. Give it a try, drys fast and sands to a glass finish
Long time I am not see your video
I have this problem now. Thanks for the video. Question, do you think spackle would work just as wood filler? I'm trying not to run back to home depot.....again. lol.
You can try spackle I’m just not sure how it will hold up. I think it would be good. Bondo would be great if you have it.
Thanks for your response.
What products did you use? Hard to see
I wish I could see how it held up after time!!!
Thank you so much. I have a question for you. Why it looks still white after you paint the table with grey color? I am confused.
Btw, can I find all these materials and tools at Home depot?
Yes, you can buy them at Home Depot! It might just be the lighting. The gray is pretty light.
@@FlipItFurniture got you.👍🏻👍🏻
I've got a desk with bubbles and cracks, I wonder if this would work? I thought I saw a video somewhere to where they used heat to help fix it?
It depends on the material. Heat works well on swollen wood!
Great tip! Never heard that and I have watched a lot of videos! Thank you for sharing 😊kim
Your welcome and thanks for watching Kim!
Can you please give me a list of items you used? :)
I just bought a laminate table. I am afraid that it will leave water marks. How can I make it waterproof.
Whats the namr of that paint
If you do this alot I suggest bondo over wood filler to save money
I wish I knew this before sanding and painting cause I can still see the bubbles
Hii what if there are chips at the edge of the furniture 🥺
I thought I was going to have to put wood slats on a piece to cover bubbles. Not now!
Did it sell?
Sure did!
That’s not a drywall scrapper. That’s an ice scrapper for your car.
Haha yeah I just needed something flat and couldn’t find my putty knife. I’ll never live it down 😂
