On my very little and limited experience everything he has said is very true, expecially that thing on ROS. A lot of company don't use it but they naturally tend to build something that kind of resembles it. Also writing GUI can be useful since sometimes you have to build (like in ROS) GUI software to simulate and debug.
I was just guessing. By searching Google the keywords "software flamingo book" and then this pops up. Plus, the guest in the video mentioned about its how Google manages their software projects, i believe this is the book he refers to.
@@devanshjaiswal9502 it is that book. i actually read that exact same book during my software engineering course for my cs degree. exactly what he mentioned here is what that book is about.the part where he mentioned that the book states software engineering is more than just programming is what I found most interesting as well.
The way I would explain it, ROS establishes a communication network between the sensory devices, actuators and the computer/microcontroller, all of which are essential parts of robots :)

@@philipe1502 that’s trivial
I guess he also said that Rust language is important too
@@figimigihey9139 he said ROS not Rust
@@figimigihey9139 I don't think it will get where C++ is - I mean C++ is ubiquitous and has been around since 1985 - Rust is barely just 10 years old.
I was surprised to see my course logo as the thumbnail of this video 😅
Did anyone else feel the audio imbalance?

Did anyone find the "flamingo book" yet? Kindly share
I guess he is referring to this book "software engineering at google" published by O'Reilly
@@曹輔 how did you get to know about this book? Have you read it or did he mention this very book?

Yes, I did. :)
