Quality advice here. I’ve limited my collection to 10 fragrances. Although they mostly are over the £200 mark but they are all fragrances I really took my time to decide if I actually liked them enough. Great video!!!

I did the same too.
10 fragrances, 2 for each season(1 for daytime and 1 for nighttime) so that’s total 8. 2 more for special occasions(1 for warm weather and 1 for cold weather) would be the perfect collection to cover every occasion.
My 10 fragrances are
Spring- Hacivat, Reflection Man
Summer- Gentle Fluidity Silver, Imagination
Fall- BDC parfum, Tuxedo
Winter- Prada Lhomme Intense, Herod
40 knots for Spring and Summer special occasions

You don't need more than 5 parfumes in your collection, but even with 3 you're still OK - one freshie for hot days, one warm for autumn/winter, one versatile fragrance that will be your signature fragrance.
Fair, but I think if people are watching this channel, they are likely ‘collectors’, which is where I feel 3 may be too restrictive. I feel 10-20 is the sweet spot. 😊
@@SchoolOfScent I think that's fair, but also people tend to fall into buying (fragrance) addiction (rather than fragrance addiction). I know for a fact how hard is to fight that itch.
When someone sets a limit to 3-5, it's very likely they go towards 10+ (depending how little self control they have).
One setting their limit at 20 might end up with 30,40,...50(?) easily. 😂
But it takes a while until you find the perfect 3-5 perfumes you need

I own the most wanted and hard candy. Love them both! Definitely will get a sample of tales from zanzibar (guava is my favorite fruit). Need to slim down my collection from 20 bottles to 15 first though.

Here would be my 10 (5 niche, 5 designers) I decided to only use from my own collection: Naxos, Jubilation XXV, Dior Homme Parfum, Layton, Oud Wood, Nio, BDC Parfum, Edition Blanche, Sedley and Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. Five to be used mostly during cool and and cold weather, and five to wear in mostly warm and hot weather. A few of those being versatile enough to have some crossover. This would cover every season and situation. Some of my favorites are missing, but based on how I wanted to build it, it had to happen.
Prada Lhomme is perfect for a designer even if people always tag it for the office which it is very good at but its quite versatile as its inoffensive given its soapy clean vibe
Plus no one will smell you wearing it, which adds to the inoffensiveness, lol.
I have it and like it, but it’s really a skin scent

Prada Lhommes is my favorite cologne. Perfect for where I’m from, hot and humid South Texas.

Mate, just want to check on the Azzaro Frag that you mention here. The version you're recommending is - Azzaro The Most Wanted Eau De Parfum Intense - version right? Cause that's the one with the full black bottle - which is what you hold up here. You don't mention it as the Intense EDP version, so just wanted to check. Do let us know. I am now going in the quality over-quantity direction. Since I have over 6 clone fragrances that smell fantastic but do not last long, I want to go in said direction. I am about to get Mancera - Cedrat Boise Intense since I think it's versatile, works in every season (I live in Indonesia where there is only dry and rainy season), and I love the scent.
I have tried Cedrat Boise Intense and Aoud Lemon Mint. Both are lovely and fantastic, but I feel like these two have the same purpose (versatile), and having both is defeating the purpose of quality over quality direction. Now I don’t know which one to pick up since I love them both. Any suggestion?

My Jokers are Moschino Toy Boy and One Million Lucky for special ocassions or tryna get laid.
My last two are Arab / Clone options.
Lataffa Wazeer and Armaf Odissey home white for the casual.
I would just love to add another niche fragance or an elegant masculine cologne...something in the line of Naxos Xerjoff and or Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee.

Club De Nuit Intense Man (it arrived with a broken atomiser so it’s useless) . I’ve ordered a sample of Mancera Intense Cedrat Boise to replace this scent DNA.
What I’d like to add is more tobacco and sweeter scents with some more niche houses. I love Haltane and Percival by PDM. I tried red tobacco by Mancera and it’s beast mode, ordered a sample. Xerjoff Naxos and Alexandria II stood out when I tried it on a strip, had to get a sample of them.
What would you recommend adding to this list?
Carlisle by PDM is a wonderful mix of layton and haltane and if you already like them both you should try it. Instantly makes you feel like the most mysterious man in the room.
I think two different date fragrances are in order, day date and night date.

Rasasi hawas is a for sure 10 out of 10. The performance is loud. Everything you said about it was right I get 12 hours as well. sometimes longer it just depends what I’m doing on that particular day. I wouldn’t stress about the whole reformulation stuff it’s all nonsense. It just makes me laugh. I ignore it. i’m on my third bottle and it’s great. I just received a back up bottle and I’m going to get more.

Get an Intense Cedrat Boise : That's like a 9 out of 10 collection on its own. So versatile, so good.
Though I agree, sometimes there’s a certain DNA you can’t get enough of. I have Tygar and 3 different clones. I just want all variations of it
Sadly, YSL Bleu Electrique is impossible to find here in the US.
A “super versatile” replacement would be: Bleu De Chanel: EDT, EDP, and Parfum. All are good.

I’m a teenager and right now I have Armaf Club De Nuit Intense man, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense, and Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Extreme. I want to add Prada L’Homme next and then stop there to save money and have a well rounded collection. Will I be covered with all situations after adding Prada L’Homme or should I add anything else? Will I really “need” to add anything?
I think one Parfum de Marly would be good, for having one special, higher quality fragrance. Your special occasions fragrance. They are pricey but at discounters you can very often find them at relatively good prices.

Bleu Electrique is literally the best smell in the world, can’t believe it’s so hard to get. I could replace most of my fall/ winter/ date night categories with it.
It's beautiful - just wish it projected and lasted a little bit longer.
I only need 3, terre dheremes for formal, bad boy for nights out, and channel extreme signature scent.
Wasn't sure about buying pradas black but damn its good.
Is there anything that smells like lipstick, or tastes like lipstick in the air, I'm a straight male but something about that lipsticky feel does it for me. 🙌

My go to Office fragrance is Acqua di gio Profumo. And Prada Amber over Prada L'homme.
Its a little odd that of all the hundreds of thousands of fragrances in this world...UA-cam fragcom is generally hung up on the same little group of fragrances. Trust me...there are so many other fragrances...many that blow the little group of fragcom staples way out of the water...not only in performance but in the oh so important compliments department as well. 🤣

Hi! I am a brazilian and I have to say its a lot harder to get fragrances in Brazil. Even the designer ones, not every ones comes to Brazil. Niche is very very price. Just a point of view.

Having a collection of even 10 fragrances is a lot. You can only really wear one to two a day. It will take forever to go through 10 bottles. If you have more than that you are an actual collector and not just into fragrances

Curent collection consists of 8. I've had 12 at one point but sone were redundant and i just couldn't wear them all. Plus, living in Phoenix doesnt allow me much opportunity for many cold weather scents.

Personally I don’t like it but most people do, so it fits in to the ‘structure’ of this collection, which is what this video is mainly about rather than the specific examples used.

@school of scent what would you say is the difference between a versatile fragrance and an office fragrance?
A Versatile Fragrance ideally is usable in both the day and night and has more of a ‘neutral’ feeling to its DNA, while Office fragrances are slightly more ‘serious’ and suited only to day time.

I have a similar but have a quality designer base to meet multiple categories with quite a few clones to pad out and do the donkey work of daily wears. This way I should have many years of wear within this budget. Agree as well to wear the he'll out of a few and then replace as required or move onto to the next scent in my collection. Sometimes it is OK to have some redundancy if the scent is top notch.

@jaycegarcia3782 IMO it is worth it cos I got it really cheap, its now twice the price due to renewed hype, maybe Suits or The Tux would be how I would replace Moustache edp. Moustache has a lovely classical feel without smelling like am old fart. I find smooth, elegant. But in my collection I rank it mid tier, solid performing and inoffensive. It is not wow to me but I just want nice smelling without the in yer face force some scents have. Hope that helps

I will go against the flow here. I want to go against this tendency of saying: "You don't need many perfumes", "Small collections of 3-5-10 fragrances you really like is the real way to go", "You are waisting money", etc.
To whoever say this, I ask: do you only have 10 emotional states? Do you really got a small spectrum of different moods and vibes?
Well, while it's true that it's good to know and test your fragrances and not waste money, my answer to the question I asked Is: NO. Every fragrance you love fits like a glove exactly with your state, your thoughts and idiosincrasies in that day, in that moment. Life Is too colorful and multifaceted to think I can live It with only 1 or even 10 colors. A THOUSAND Is not enough.
And that Is why those who will tell you that 5 fragrances are okay, here on UA-cam, have a collection of hundreds of fragrances.
Simple as that.
I love how aggressive people in the comments get when someone mentions Hawas has been reformulated. It's like when a child's toy gets taken away 😂
Azzaro the most wanted is bad for me , i am not able to catch the scent and it lasts like 3 hours on me with 1 hour longevity
