@@CumulusOutdoor I strongly disagree. As a manufacturer you (should) know better than a consumer and your products should reflect good choices. You could make non hydrophobic down optional.
@@robertlewandowski8491 OK, to be more serious. Excuistic sleeping bag series is dedicated to experienced and advanced users. We know a lot about the technology, insulation systems, fabrics, etc. but to create the best heavy-duty sleeping bag we need some tests. This is what we've done with Excuistic sleeping bag and the test result was issued on our website (cumulus.equipment/eu_en/news/excuistic1500-karakorum) . You can learn from there that Pertex Quantum Pro outer fabric was good enough to cope with moisture in the Karakorum mountains in the wintertime. So in this particular situation hydrophobic down wasn't the case however, in many others, it might be an important benefit ( DIY gives you a chance to have hydrophobic down if needed). None of our sleeping bags have hydrophobic down as a basic solution, we try to keep this line and advice our clients when they ask.
@@CumulusOutdoor Thanks for the info. It seems like your website is down. Error 503 and Magento logo. I will try later. As for the bag - I do like a LOT of it's features, additional horizontal baffles, the overall larger size, better footbox and a mesh bag on the inside! I always loose stuff in my bag so this is brilliant. And possibly the best - the no snag zipper! Rab could learn a thing or two! Can you tell me the idea behind having the hood singe cord on the outside though?
Impressive, nice to look at 😎
Looks nice but it seems you’re not using hydrophobic down on this €999 bag. Why is that? Seems like a good idea to do it.
It is an extra option with our DIY tool. We like to give our customers a choice, they know what they need better :) cumulus.equipment/eu_en/diy

Hydrophobicity down is not essential
