Another helpful video, thank you. I ordered some plants for the first time from a family owned and operated grower in the Midwest a few weeks ago and was very pleased. They ship all over the US and hold orders if the temperature is too cold or too warm. Knowing the different stages of growth was helpful. My plants were in spike and are beginning to bloom. I also wanted to say that if there’s a problem with the plant that is the growers fault and it is not in the original pot and media they will not issue a refund or replacement, so immediate repotting is not always the best thing to do. I also noticed that you did what you told people not to do, the plants you unboxed were in flower.
Hi Sue, Midnight really helps me out in my videos, but lately she's been sleeping in my plants. So I had to ban her from my home office this month. Next month she'll be back in my videos. Thank you for watching!
Hi Joseph, Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. Yah, I've had orchids delivered in tiny pots before and I was disgusted when I realized how much I paid for them. Shipping is always the worst too, when they add that into the final price.
Hi Sajeevi, Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate it. :) Yes, Midnight loves my orchids and especially the boxes they come in. LOL
First and foremost important nd useful video for a beginner. Very nice video. Also make a video on fertilizer as per age of orchid. Seedling, near to bloom, adult repotting, Bare rooted. Thanks in advance.
Hi Kathleen, Wow , a zygo! Amazingly stunning!! I don't have zygopetalums (yet anyway). Please tell me how it goes. I have read online that zygos might come with a few black spots on the leaves and that's normal for them. You might want to spray them with bactericide a little more than the others just to make sure.
Carmela orchids! I love the boxes from there…such a great video Amanda…Midnight is so nosy omg 🤣 I think she unboxed that and you simply assisted her 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Daniel, Yes, Midnight loves the box more than the orchids, and she still finds a way to get in my videos. LOL I've heard of Carmela Orchids and their company comes up a lot (all positive comments) when I look for orchid recommendations, but I haven't bought from them... yet. I have to add it to my list. Thanks for the recommendation. :)
Oh perfect video for me today... My son bought me a few orchids as a Thanksgiving gift for hosting dinner. Well my Dendrobium -Phil has a broken cane. It isn't completely snapped off but did is definitely cracked inside. Any ideas ? Has it ever been a problem you or any of your viewers had ? Thank You.
Hi Keep Smiling! I don't have a video about that, yet but I did write an article. It's on orchideria.com. if you go to the search bar and write broken cane or broken stem you should find it.
What if you were given an Orchid from a Nursery/Gardening Centre. It arrives damp, in proper cup with bark as the medium. It’s wrapped properly for the quick ride to my place. It’s about 24” high and in full bloom with some buds. What do you do then? It’s my first Orchid
Hi Lesley, If it's in bark with a cup that has air holes or some kind of ventilation, then it will dry out in time. No problem. Just give it a few days to dry out. Then only water it according to how long it took to dry out.
Looks like Midnight is enjoying the unboxing.
Hi Fantástica, Midnight enjoys all kinds of boxes... 🐈⬛🤣 Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.
Thank you for providing this valuable advice! Bonus points for the adorable kitty helping out with the unboxing ☺️ 📦 🐈⬛
Hi Sara, Thank you for the comment. I appreciate it. Yeah, Midnight loves my orchids and the boxes too!

This is one of the most helpful orchid videos I have ever seen, and I follow some very reputable orchid growing channels. Thank you very much!
I love it when Kitty appears!

Much appreciated as it is sometimes difficult when buying from hops-often,the orchids are much smaller than described.

Thank you for your advice, love the puddy cat 🐱
Hi Ngarie, Thank you! Midnight loves to make videos. As soon as I turn the camera on, she runs in my office. I'm glad she isn't a distraction.

Have you bought from Equgenera in Equador?
I just ordered from them. They send to Florida then to your house.
