What a woman! She was crazy enough for Group B, she was great at it and she was beautiful! I'm so glad she won Pikes Peak because I read that some people there were rude to her when she came. Not only did she win, she destroyed them! ❤
..the story goes that even after winning... some jerk was belittling her achievement or something to that effect and she dared him to race her downhill......They chickened out as expected🤣
Yeah, this is the reason why I like Michele Mouton and Henri Toivonen both, Henri was so humble and kind, very friendly and open-minded, he respectfully said good stuff about Michele and admitted her achivements and her speed with honor and kind humor. As someone asked him during Acropolis rally can he gain his tempo and catch her during that rally and he said with a smile "Hell no, womans are too fast nowadays". And this is the reason why Michele created Race of Champions after Henri death in his memory, he was not only fastest rally pilot, but incredible friendly, respectful for anyone and always admitted her hard work and great talent.
Oh yes, and of course Hannu Mikkola! He was the first who understood how properly drive 4wd quattro and kindly teached all from his team, he was kind gentleman for all and respected Mouton too.
@@sometimesidreamaboutcheese Eeeeh..... haven't you forgotten the legendary Audi driver Stig Blomqvist...? I know for a fact that he learned Walter Röhrl to drive this understeer monster. Walter struggled with the Audi and then Stig introduced him to the "left-foot-braking-tecnique", something all front-wheel-drive rallydrivers..... atleast in Sweden, mastered at this time
🇺🇸 ❤s you forever, Michele!!!!! Btw, I was 8yr old in '85. She said "shut their mouths", but our mouths are still on the floor. Witnessed history. Legendary! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
I grew up through the group B years and Michelle was so special a sport dominated by men but she was determined skilled and so fast ..she had class and a stare that could stop you in your tracks too

Gran campeona. Sólo tuve una oportunidad de verla en Alicante - España, compitiendo. Lo hacía como si no hubiera un mañana, pero de forma efectiva. ✌️✌️
@LucidDream it’s FAR more dangerous now that it’s paved. Speeds are much higher. I met someone at Pikes Peak recently. He has raced it three times. Won his class twice. He said no question it’s more dangerous now,
Queen of speed 2021 (Movie). Please watch the full movie, it’s available on UA-cam. To me, one of the best sports documentaries I’ve ever seen❤. It has won the Emmy award 2022 🙏
Back when Pikes was a full off road climb and the driver had more of an impact. Now being a fully hard surface the car and it’s power make more of an impact on the time.
I do. Even in Michelle's case they were trying to see if her car had some changes that were not allowed in races and the media often talked about her looks despite of her sheer talent. There's a still long way to go when it comes to men seeing women as equal. The sad thing is that you have to be twice as good as men to be considered as an equal.
@@Tia-7yi stop manifesting shit. Skill and grit beats gender and Mouton had loads of both. Just like every other world class driver. Talk about not seeing the forest from all the trees here dude/dudette. It's not easy for ANY racing driver to make it regardless of gender. As far as the scrutiny of competitors race cars they all do it to eachother. It's been going on forever. They are highly competitive people. Moutons case was not exclusive. Just look at how the F1 drivers are nagging eachother for cheating 24/7. Even trying to change the rule books. That happens in every motorsport discipline all the way down to amateur levels. Did you notice that the complaints about her Alpine A110 also happened in an all female series BTW? Or does that not fit your agenda? Here's the kicker: Male Race drivers with no charisma or "star power" don't get a high profile seat either. Is that a gender thing too?

Yes. It was a men’s world and they were pretty rude and arrogant… Michele was unbelievable, naturally gifted talent and determined. So glad she won 🏆

Amazing. She should be a household name 👏👏👏👏
To me her win, and others, before Pikes was paved are more impressive. Was way more dangerous. Wish it was never paved, because it was a cool course.

1985 When the Unser's learned the Importance of All Wheel Drive and Turbo chargers..
Does anyone know what documentary this is taken from? Also cool to see Derek Dauncey narrating portions.
Just read the description. Will check it out at some point.
