Different strokes for different folks with the ASMR thing... but I'm glad you did this vid. My skepticism about PolyWatch has been dramatically reduced. Thanks again, man.
I just got some of this stuff and tested it on a vintage watch with deep grooves in the acrylic crystal. I'd assumed I was going to have to replace the crystal. 20 minutes later it was REDEEMED.
I've used this on mine and my father's Speedies and it does a great job. I'd recommend putting masking(preferable) or scotch tape and the bezel to make sure you don't damage it.
If you work long enough you can pretty much remove that deeper grove, or make it much less visble I would recommend taping up the tachymetre though! Don't want to risk damaging that! Gorgeous watch though! I would love a speedmaster :(
Great result. I also used polywatch on my 1962 Rolex Oyster Precision, with the addition of hand sanding and a buffer and the result was outstanding. Just be careful not to over heat the crystal and take your time.
You can even get those deeper scratches out if you keep at it longer. I’ve even gotten DEEP gauges out of plexi, but used a coarse car polish (cutting compound) as the first step and 2 finer grades to then polish it out. Took about 30 mins for an almost 1 mm deep gauge. Of course, you remove a lot of material that way, possibly compromising the integrity of the crystal. So on something I’m gonna bang around and take in the water I’d rather replace the crystal.
Freaking thank you very much! Finally someone that shows the process real time instead of a shady cut and edit...and from one of my favorite watch youtubers! Cheers mate love the content.....even if you turn it into ASMR
THAT is an impressive improvement!! TT, ever since I've acquired my first GMT, I've been IN LOVE. My Q Timex GMT; Batman checked every single requirement box: Case smaller than 40mm, 70's-Styled Case profile, easily hides under shirt cuffs, MUST BE QUARTZ. I need "Grab N Go" Ready Reliability. It's been my Daily since last month. There is something special about the way the acrylic crystal appears "warmer" and I love the dial distortion, that SHT is HOT. Any watch that can make me LIKE and WANT the once hideous "Batman" colorway is a KEEPER. IDGAF if the Rolex GMT Master II Batman is the OG, I always thought it was an unappealing paint scheme. Your Speedy looks Sick AF w/the acrylic crystal. Your bracelet looks like the Forstner Bullet Bracelet.🔥🔥 I love your work. semper fidelis
In 2005 my late father gifted me an omega speed master moon watch with Snoopy, eyes on the stars. I love the watch, it's been working beautifully since then. Thank you dad, You have given me something that your future generations can carry with them on an interstellar mission.
I have a Seiko bellmatic from the '70s with an acrylic "crystal". It had a lot of scratches some of which were really deep and I tried buffing them out with 1500 grit sandpaper (wet). I thought I had ruined it! It ended up cloudy as if it had been sand blasted. I then had a "lightbulb over the head" moment. I buffed it with toothpaste using felt and it worked like a charm!
I have a '73 Seiko Bellmatic I inherited from my late father. It had a few deep scratches and tons of shallower scratches. I rubbed it down with 1500 grit sandpaper (wet of course) and I ruined it. I got all the scratches out but the acrylic was no longer transparent but only translucent and foggy. I then thought I just needed something finer to fix it. I dabbed a little toothpaste on a piece of felt and it worked perfectly. I got it looking like new.
1500 is too abrasive....esslinger.com sends a sand paper stick, felt stick and cloth with poly watch...dont remember the price but I think it's like 7-8 bucks. works perfectly every time. it's almost like a 3000 grit.
Bon iBroco , it actually did some good! Lol. The crystal is a little brighter. It could be my imagination, but the stainless steel case looks a bit shinier. Thanks. ☆Jonathane
I just bought PollyWatch, watched this Video, got out my 20 year old Seiko 5, with scratches, used the PollyWatch and it worked, my 20 year old Seiko 5 Crystal looks near new, very good stuff.
First time ever I've heard Polywatch described as an "Ointment". hahah love it. With polywatch, less is more and it's all about a bit of pressure and a lot speed during the rubbing (okay, that came out waaaaay wrong). It's a great little product to have in your watch toolbox!
Man love ur channel. I use polywatch on my speedy prob every 6 months. Try going a little longer with the polishing and it’ll take out 99% of the scratches. Use a fine grit sandpaper for your deep scratch, then follow up with polywatch. Great video man
A little tip, piece of corrugated cardboard, smear the compound onto the cardboard and , in affect, polish the cardboard with the watch, first remove the watch strap and keep the watch flat so as not to damage the bezel. You can also use toothpaste or metal polish. If you have one deep scratch, make sure you keep motion along the length of the scratch, it doesn't completely remove it but it softens the sharp edges and makes it less visible.
I've used Polywatch to remove scratched AR coating but never on my Hesalite Speedy. I did mine while watching this and hey..it worked! Nice. Good vid, thanks man!
If you don't have anything like this around the house you also might wanna try toothpaste for acrylic crystals and buffing out stainless steel bracelets or even car polish works.
Next time protect the watch bezel with some "low tack" masking tape. Also I would use my bare thumb for the polishing then wipe off the residue with a rag. Other than that, good job.
I was in your neighborhood visiting a business in Van Nuys and as it would be an accident on the 101, had to drive on service streets and man it was hot, reminded me of my younger years growing up, going to Pierce and Northridge.....and those warm summers.....stay cool.
Glad it works got a few tubes a while ago. Fortunately I have not had to use it yet. The speedy is one of the nicest I've seen in a while, or perhaps I have no been that up close and personal with a true icon. Thanks Jory.
There is a fin cut polish called Flitz that I have used on a vintage Bulova I inherited and it did an nice light clean up. Use it with a Q-tip. BTW - great video
Questions: 1. Would it eventually affect the Omega logo etched on the surface? 2. I saw the same hesalite glass become half the original thickness over time. How many times can I polish it before I need to worry about replacing the glass?
ASMR wouldn't be confusing to you if you had ASMR response to these things. It's not to be relaxing, or soothing. It's to trigger a very specific reaction in your brain. If you can't experience it - you'll never know why people love it so much.
Been using this product for yonks... recently I have been using various grades of diamond paste fine grade to get scratches from glass crystal...using a dremel with a felt accessory...it takes patience.
An old watchmaker/repairer in England where I live nr Liverpool whose Swiss Trained told me they always used to use toothpaste or a mixture including bicarbonate of soda which is an ingredient of Polywatch.

Look carefully under strong light and you will see 90% of the scratches are still there. It will look a bit better after the micro scratches are removed, the watch face will be less hazy but the scratches will still be there
Try a Cork and brass, brass cleaner. Tooth paste has grit in it which will leave fine scratches. Use a Cork to rub the polish in. There are some good metal polishes that work very good. A Cork will get to the dge of the glass. A cloth will go over the edge and hit the surrounds of the watch!
Thanks for the demo Jordy. I recently scuffed my timex Q...should have took it off while changing out a flat tire...oh well. I was planning to order polywatch to clean up the acrylic crystal. .....now I know how to use polywatch and what to expect :)
I am glad it works on surface scratches i was thinking about getting it for my watch as it has a couple of surface scratches the stuffs cheap on Amazon. Cheers your video was very helpful
You can get bigger bottles of similar compounds for cleaning headlights on cars. I've used it to polish things like clock crystals, bakelite, and lucite.
ASMR is beautiful. I think the people who think it's rubbish are the ones who don't get tingles, in which case it would be rather lame. I do get the nerve response, and I wouldn't describe it as calming. It's just really pleasant. Think like micro-dosing on a dopamine-inducing drug
What my jeweler was working on my Omega Constellation he was going to replace the crystal until he saw the crystal had a Omega symbol in the center of it so I polished it up instead and it looks fantastic.

Are you sure it actually did something to remove the scratches, I've seen these polishers deceive people by just making up a thin coating that makes the scratch blend in with the coating then after cleaning it with soapy water and using a clean cloth to wipe the scratches return. I also wonder on what materials it won't work.
Good video man! I want to hear more about your powerlifting. Lol. Do you still compete/ coach? What were your numbers? What weight class were you in? I also lift in SoCal. I just competing in my second meet and placed 2nd. Hope to hear more about powerlifting as well as watches!
Thanks for this video. Just got my first acrylic crystal watch. Sinn military type IV. Was looking for a product to help keeping it look nice. Thank you 👍👍😎
I tell you what, I bought some of the more expensive Polywatch product for glass and mineral crystal...that stuff was ALSO fantastic. Polywatch products are awesome!
I purchased a cool vintage Wakmann stopwatch with a very scuffed up crystal. It was in a bin full of junk. The Polywatch did a great job of cleaning it up really well.
Can I also use this to remove scratches on the sides of my watch? The iron parts of mine have some scratches too. Some parts are shiny and some are like matte. Or do I need a different product for that?
I love all your videos, T3! You seem to be having a good time making them! This makes your videos unique in this field! I'm a huge lover of these jewels of time! Your watches are superb! I live in Brazil and this is so unfortunate when it comes to buying watches... So damn expensive hobby here! I recently bought a beautiful Tissot Visodate with an awesome mesh bracelet. All monochromatic silver! The watch exudes elegance... Keep doing these amazing videos! You are a great entertainer!
Love your videos. But one question. What brand of eyeglasses are you wearing. I’ve been looking for what your wearing but can’t find it. Help please and keep up the great videos. Love to see your enthusiasm.
Nice product, but a plastic watch "crystal" can be polished with Brasso or Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish. Use a dab, apply with a light touch in circular motions on a piece of newspaper or a rag with your index finger. Newsprint paper is the finest sandpaper you can find. Deep scratches can be removed or reduced by continued polishing. Don't hurry. The white material on the crystal was probably paint transfer. it was a minor scrape like you would get on an auto. The white was polished off leaving the finish of the "crystal" undamaged. Practice it on an old watch to master the technique. When finished, apply a coat of car polish to the surface for protection.
Nice when the time comes I’ll get it for my hesalite speedy. I only started wearing it a week or so ago. Problem is it only looks like they only put a 1/4 of the product in the bottle
"Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish" works wonders. (It works for steel too but I wouldn't use it on precious metals or ANYTHING plated.) It's the little red and white jar you can buy at AutoZone.
Hmm, wasn't until this vid that I realised most of my watches have some form of glass crystal, primarily hardlex & sapphire, and that the only definitively plastic one is my Marathon Navigator pilot watch. That being said, I've been lucky enough to avoid scratching them so far, with the exception of my Strela chronograph with mineral glass that unfortunately sat too high in my watch box and have a legitimate crack in it now. Been planning on getting it replaced with sapphire if possible, but haven't found me a watch repair shop yet as I was hoping to find one who can also service its Russian movement while it's there.
Really nice! Didn't think youd get those top scuffs out with hand power but damn, like new! I have tried it on mineral glass but, it just doesn't work, even with power tools doing the buffing I got no effect.
There are several different types of face from what you say. I have a Seiko with a scratch I want to lessen or get rid of. I am told that the face is made of glass, so is this the same as your Omega? The watch was around £150 when bought new and a jeweller has quoted me over £100 to replace the glass, so I think that course of action renders the watch BER, (beyond economic repair), so I want to try and at least make it a little better.
Lol!! "Invicta lovers" My ex girlfriend pops was an Invicta Fanatic! The Invicta fans love to say how much it looks like a ROLEX!!! Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?! Anyone that has put on a high quality swiss watch would never say that!!!

It will remove the deep grooves, just keep polishing
There are several different types of face from what you say. I have a Seiko with a scratch I want to lessen or get rid of. I am told that the face is made of glass, so is this the same as your Omega?
The watch was around £150 when bought new and a jeweller has quoted me over £100 to replace the glass, so I think that course of action renders the watch BER, (beyond economic repair), so I want to try and at least make it a little better.
Others say to tape up the bezel as that compound may discolor or scratch it.
It works great. Been using it for a long time. Cape Cod works for the metal.
5:29 moneyshot, that's what all invicta lovers do when they walk in a tj maxx
What's in a TJ maxx
Lol!! "Invicta lovers" My ex girlfriend pops was an Invicta Fanatic! The Invicta fans love to say how much it looks like a ROLEX!!! Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?! Anyone that has put on a high quality swiss watch would never say that!!!
@@colexovitch I own an Invicta but i never say it looks like a Rolex because it's nowhere near the quality of one and imo It's really stupid when you buy a 100$ watch and say it looks like a 8K watch...
Not all invictas are created equal. I have an invicta with an eta 7750 movement, yes its not a $200 invicta but more a 1k invicta and I have beat the hell out of it for years as a daily driver, it has out lasted a tag and its my second favourite watch under my ab20 breitling superocean heritage
Hi first time here. How does it look today in 2020? The reason I ask is that time tends to dull things down a bit.
