- Welcome to Paradise Prison. A facilty that is home to some of the most dangerous and dubious criminals the Pokémon world has to offer. Instead of completing jobs and catching outlaws, you'll be rubbing shoulders with the toughest rogues and renegades around. But even though the guards seem to have everything under control, when night falls, The Pit opens. The most notorious underground prison fight club in the Pokémon world. Work your way up the ranks as you meet new characters and familiar faces from Explorers of Sky and Lonely Roads.

Not only do we get to see more of my boy Armaldo, I really like the cameos of other minor characters here considering this is a prequel still. Examples are Lairon and his 6 Aron could be the middle boss in Team Charm's special episode, and the three Haunters from Sunflora's special episode who could have escaped from prison.

Thank you so much again for playing! Armaldo was always among my favorite characters in the series, and was so disappointed that he never got a story to his own like he deserved, so I decided to make it myself! Although this is a sequel to SE2, this story also exists within the greater Lonely Roads canon in case any of you have played that. In addition, I put in so many details about the other character's backstories and other stuff hidden in the hack in case you want to download the game and go play them! This version is old however, so I would recommend going and downloading the latest off of the directory.
I did have to cut a lot of content out to fit it within the 3 week time frame for HackJam, but I intend on remaking this hack with all of the cut content included, so be on the look out for that! Also, Lonely Roads part IV is now in development! So excited to share the next part of the story.

Those Lycanroc sprites look really good. If I didn’t know better I would assume that they are in the original game

I must admit this might the greatest game from hack ever see. Especially the bosses battles
They should've called this "Armaldo's Depression Spiral", at the rate you're skipping days and moving on to fights.
I'm really impressed by the story on this one, it seems well-developed and feels pretty real. It's amusing that Armaldo doesn't find it all distressing to get new cellmates, too. Could use a pass or two for grammar checks.
Grammar and spelling should be fixed in the latest version! :D
The bit with chatot and wigglytuff is the actual scene from the explorers of sky episode im so glad you captured what could’ve happened!

This is my favorite romhack story of any I've seen. I like the little Easter eggs to the real story with some of the characters included, like the haunters and the lairon with the 6 arons. This also gives me Paper Mario TTYD vibes with glitzville, but in prison instead. Also, it would have been funny if they referenced the exploud as loudred's dad or something like that, given both of their respective jobs and mannerisms lmao.
This is frigging awesome. Wish this was included in the actual game. I can't get enough of these original storylines!
That was an interesting hack, but I wish you'd have showcased the other teammates a little even if the fights were easy without them. Nice ending though

I wonder how Armaldo became an outlaw in the first place.
It might be implied during Armaldo's talk with the Poochyena. He was originally a thief on the run, hiding out in the forest during Igglybuff the Prodigy. He scared off all the kids except Igglybuff. Then the events of SE 2 occurred, but the other pokemon assumed Armaldo kidnapped Igglybuff.
Armaldo even says (paraphrasing) "It starts out as petty thievery, then it escalates to kidnapping or being roped into something bigger than you could ever imagine." He's speaking from experience during that time.
He committed tax fraud.

I had issues getting this hack running for some reason. Even when using the supposedly correct ROM (USA Explorers of Sky rom), it didn't let me apply the patch for a long while. "Unimplemented feature" each time no matter what. After trying with different roms I finally got it but I still don't know why it happened... Stuff that happens with romhacks I guess.

I get back into PMD like 2 months ago and now theres these kickass mods that rival core story??? pumped to see my boy armaldo getting some much needed screen time. also the character building is very nice to see, I like how shedinja is only here because the nincada evolved and left it behind

I didn't think I would be crying more from this game but DAMN, dude, stop cutting onions in front of my eyelids! In all seriousness, while I think the Fight Club was a bit too drawn out for my liking, the high points were super well done, especially the ending.
Spoilers, but I actually like the decision to not have Wigglytuff and Armaldo meet up at the end of the episode. It would've been amazing, yes, but it would slightly undercut Igglybuff the Prodigy's ending and theme of making one's own path after thinking about it. Nicely done, as always!

I enjoy watching playthroughs to see what games have to offer so this is just my personal suggestion as feedback.
I want them to change their partners from time to time, they're only using seviper for some reason

I don't know... this is off-topic but the fight against Solrock and Lunatone seemed really strange from the uploader: Moves not being used (like harden when stuck), moving around without reason, throwing prison food, moving seviper in the water away from the enemies.

The prison’s theme is absolutely fantastic, I’m dying for someone to put it somewhere to listen.
It’s the OST for Dark Wasteland from special episode 5: in the future of darkness. It’s a pretty great theme for a dungeon smaller than beach cave
