I have a strong feeling when the game actually comes out, if it doesn't set a good launch, it will be fully dead in the water.
The genre they were coming into was pretty empty when they first announced it. But now the genre is becoming very over saturated with games that already came out and have consistent content coming out for them with great polish.
Basically is Hytale comes out being buggy it will quickly die before it starts. And if they take more than 2 years still for it to come out then they will have created a game that will never live up to its expectations. They are already at risk of needing to have the game be Godly or else it will be shot down.
There have been a few games that have done much of what Hytale is planning to to. I know I have only played a cracked version of one of the old demo versions of the game, but with that to go off of it wasn't that special unfortunately. Thou I assume they have actually added a lot more since then.

I mean thats what the developers are trying to do. They saw the massive Hype the trailer created and knew they couldn't deliver on that in time, so to not create another no mans sky situation, they stay silent so the hype dies down until they are ready to reveal something

I swear every time I forget about this game it just comes out of nowhere to say hi I'm still here.
still my biggest fear with this game is what they are planning for monetization. mostly with stuff that has been used these days like loot boxes (gambling), a battle pass (sunk cost fallacy), limited items/content (playing off of fear of missing out, not to mention it being unfair to those that are late), microtransactions (attempts to hide expensive prices), payed mods (when they have always been free, although I would be happy for there to be a donation system or something to give support to the mod developers and maybe the mod devs can give just a bit extra for those that donate), and/or the dreaded pay to win. more or less the only thing I hope for when it comes to monetization is that it doesn't take away from peoples main experience with the game by locking things behind a paywall or making it extremely hard to do something without giving money to make it playable. (I would appreciate it if someone points this out to the people making Hytale to hopefully not do these things)

@@Reak466 tbh the only real fear I have when if comes to current monetization is when it harms the experience of a game. there are some exceptions (which are not in favor of the company) such as the loot boxes where the cosmetics are technically optional but its gambling which cause a lot of frustration and money loss.

Honestly I took that as a given, and I feel saying that in the video almost would've seemed like a joke because it's so far out. I don't think anyone is expecting hytale after 2030
@kweebec I'm pretty sure we all were expecting a post 2030 release. Especially with games like GTA, TES, and Fallout also taking a long time when engine needs work.

My neighbor showed me the hytale game trailer back in 7th grade. We bot played minecraft together all the time so we were so hyped for this game to come out. Now Im a senior in highschool graduating in a month, I don't even know if Ill have time to play this when it comes out, but Im still out here waiting.

My desire of playing Hytale has become something pathological, some kind of an illness. I really can't wait to play it, as I've already waited from the very release of the trailer: I was one of the first 100k! I'm running outta patience to play it. It is like my life won't gain meaning until I put my hands on it. I recently had dreams about it and I became sad when I woke up because of the fictional nature of these. I want somebody's help.

@@afriendlyfox You're completely right. I mainly wrote that as a joke, but of course I will do somethin' more productive with my life. At the end of the day, I also grew up since then and no longer have enough time to dedicate to gaming.
God, I really hope that it won't be another situation where they promise something way more than they can actually offer like No Man's Sky. No Man's Sky had the curse of Sony rushing them so they had that excuse and eventually turned it into something amazing, so I hope to god that since this team has way more time on their hands, they can really deliver all this stuff they are promising.

Lmao no. Why would it be dead? There is nothing else like it right now. No, Minecraft technically doesn't even compete with it because it's fucking Minecraft, no one can do anything about it unless Mojang or Microsoft fucks it up
It's getting pretty dangerous. They are creating too much expectation in people, basically the more we wait, the bigger our expectations rise, which means if it's not close to our imagination, people will be veeeery disappointed. They should just make a small demo to test out the game and what they have currently, so at least players can chill down their expectations.
Still expecting the public beta to come out in summer 2025. And if not by then, probably spring 2026. I can't imagine they'd take much longer to release it at this point.

"A market place to sell our creations". That sounds like paid mods to me. That is gonna go over sooooo well with people. It was a smash hit when Bethesda introduced the same idea a few years ago.
The existence of the Minecraft marketplace basically killed mapping on Java because everyone switched to bedrock, or straight up stopped
From what we've seen, the game looks awesome. The visuals and building are perfect, but on top of that they've done what Minecraft never could and actually fleshed out combat and magic. I'm really looking forward to it.

This will need functionality: creating your custom model for a golem and a meteor (check), creating animations of flames and movement for them (check), hooking up custom behaviours like spawning in an entity meteor to using a spell item (sounds easy enough with coding knowledge), detecting impact and hooking up spawning a golem to it (also sounds easy enough)

I don't mind big, long waits without much of a word on development. So long as I know the developers are passionate and dedicated, it's not hard to put it on the backburner and forget about it for another four months. It's what I did for Dwarf Fortress, and I'll hyucking do it again. The best games are won by patience. By hopeful, but not hype. It's not yet time to hype. Put the hype in your backpack and preserve it until the 1 week countdown before release (not the beta, the 1.0 release) then go ape wild.
Paid mods are not gonna be received well, if that's what they are thinking of doing.
Well we have no proof of anything, although I wouldn't be surprised if mod creators had the option to monetise if they sold on hytale directly. I'm sure that you'd still be able to get mods off of websites, like Minecraft

Gosh, every time I hear about Hytale updates I get excited again, I can't wait for release
When it comes to the first ask hytale, my thoughts from the answer point me towards thinking that the base game (the survival/adventure gamemode) will be in their minds a "complete and finished package" in terms of blocks, mobs, mechanics and the world generation. They will mainly be looking to tell more stories and adventures in this setting as their form of "updating" the game with the focus on telling a story/stories within the setting Hytale provides as opposed to the Minecraft style of content updates which adds blocks, mobs, structures and items.
We will likely still get updates that add the mojang style but with it not being the focus on the content updates, instead the story telling aspect being the main selling point.
This game is basically just that “15 minute delay” clip from XQC

All I want from hytale is the ability to make a custom playermodel for both offlne and online play, so others can see my Sonic the Hedgehog model

I think Id be fine with a minecraft marketplace style store-- if they did the following
-used real money price tags, not coins
-have some kine of market to how much profit is going to them vs the creator
-have a clear user rating system where users can give different packs simple 1-5 star ratings
-have a user tags system so users can tag certain packs with relevant categories
they should stop talking about the "future" after launch before the game is even released, if you want to talk about the future talk more about the things you are doing right now for the launch, not the things you are maybe going to do after launch before the launch of the game like come on

If Hytale isnt out by the end of 2026 I’m genuinely done waiting, I’ll be 26 years old with a wife and maybe a kid by then, I genuinely don’t want Hytale to come out when I will be too old or busy to enjoy it, plus development started in 2016 by then it would’ve been a decade of work and still not out, they need to spread the word about the game some more too, maybe post more videos of just behind the scenes because I have a feeling that the reason they still have so many job openings is because no one really knows about Hytale anymore, if they drummed up a little attention (showing anything off or even just a tour of the studio) more people would know about the game and would apply for their job openings.
For the time being, check out Vintage Story. It's a Hytale alternative more focused on survival and realistic mechanics. It's really good in my opinion.

I love that there’s gonna be lots of accessibility, I’m not deaf but subtitles are really useful for me, and I’m not color blind but i do like seeing texture differences (think the semi-recent Minecraft ore changes) because it adds so much more variety!
Im so incredibly excited that they are keeping the sandbox, player focused creation, focus. I am more excited about creating my own worlds and content then any adventure mode could excite me.
The real concern for me is not the how limited modding tools will be,(because if this game become popular, people will always make incredible stuff like they did in minecraft )but rather will it use a marketplace like bedrock and make creations paid as saying that creators will be able to get money too.
Considering Riot games is supervisor of this game this is pretty much a real possibility I guess, and btw adventure looks a lot fun and diverse, so if they dont make progression as fast as minecraft I can play it for a long time without worrying for paying to unlock new worlds
(He kinda confirmed towards the end of the video okay lol I dont care modding tools now, their continious focus on creating new worlds means nothing because it will turn to big microtransactions marketplace.

Might be a weird take, but i grew up with the Yogscast and their Shadow of Israphel series, so im really hoping i will be able to make a sort of recreation of the series and finisih it with my own head cannon as my first Hytale adventure. Love the videos!

Also I love that we could most likely use Blockbench to make stuff for Hytale like Minecraft though I don’t make super detailed things so my stuff will be my normal builds (pretty basic looking) OR I could make things more detailed.
I have waited for this game ever since I saw the trailer back in 2018, after 5 years I really thought the game won't ever be coming out, Seeing the word "Hytale" in my recommended and then watching this almost made me tear up.

6:18 this is what modding is. You can edit the game's code and do literally anything, however unlike in Minecraft where the API's like Forge, Fabric, Mixin are made by players Hytale will have an official proper one.

It's been 5 years. This is development hell. It's either never coming out or it's coming out in a horrendous state.
The only thing to hope for now is someone picking this up and announcing that they're rebuilding it from the ground up, with proper updates and a traditional game development cycle that actually involves talking to the fans.

The engine taking so long to make, make so much sense now. ECS is not an easy way to program, I know from experience, but will make this game run great on even a toster.

Im not gonna lie... I forgor Hytale was even a thing that existed, and kind of assumed it dropped off the face of the Earth. That said, it kind of tells to me when, 6 years later, people still arent even sure what kind of game it will be?
We do know that Hytale will be a Social Platform where the Users can create & share their own Experiences.
Hypixels Studio own Game(The Adventure of Orbis) is being made with the Same Tools that everyone can use to create their own.
So someone could recreate Half-Life, Elden Ring, The Legend of Zelda(and get DMC'AD lol), Age of Empires, etc... in Hytale.
You can also just modify "The Adventure of Orbis" to your likings, if creating something completely new is too much.
Or, well don't modify anything.
Iam actually kinda glad they are taking this long, gives me a feeling they are really putting the work in creating a fun and polished game

Hype train derailed, Funding is "at will", and every "Big News" release just reminds me of just how disappointed I am with the Hytale production studios. (personal feeling) I feel when Hytale is finally released, I'll just continue to play minecraft and have Hytale stagnant in my unplayed or low hours games graveyard. Mr. Hendrix needs to come to realize, anything is possible, but the probability and feasibility of doing anything must also be considered. 90% of what is holding the game back on being released are things that can be released in beta.
I've heard of Hytale before but this is the first time I've had such a in-depth look at the game and this is the kind of game I've been searching for, for years.
Maybe I missed the information but will there be a game time counter? like on steam? it would be interesting to know how much time you spend in hytale, how much in adventure mode, online etc.
Man, Im still so hyped about hytale and the time didnt affect me that much, it looks so fun and I love the artstyle. Back then I was hyped because it was like minecraft and made by the hypixel team but now Im hyped because it looks like such a fun game and I think that just makes it better for me.

I wanna put out there that ECS is a huge deal for modding, it's a game engine architecture that is EXTREMELY friendly to modding and changing existing game systems, very exciting to say the least!
Personally I'm very curious about multiple things regarding modding with Hytale: 1. How will the mods be provided? I believe it was semi-implied that there will be a in game catalogue of sorts being uploaded by players or will it be via out of the application using things like Curseforge? 2. If there is an internal catalogue, what kind of restrictions will be in place? I assume there will be DMCA rules put in place to avoid copyright lawsuits and have takedowns if needed. But there's also the chance of something like having to be approved to upload mods similar to the way VrChat works with trust systems. 3. Will "Mature" mods be allowed within the catalogue, such as dismemberment in combat (Like losing an arm if the arm specifically is damaged too much), heavy blood, gore, etc. Or will those mods only be allowed to players that have an option enabled, age verified/phone verified, etc.
Personally for the third option i'm hoping for mods to have the full freedom of doing what they want to do, while keeping others who are not mature or old enough to view them unable to join games that would have those mods.
Not sure if this question has been answered yet, but have the developers said anything about copyrighted, player created material? Like if i wanted to create a world thats based on an existing IP, like Warhammer 40k or something similar. Is thay allowed?
You technically could, but the Company might request Hypixel to shut your Mod down. (If its public)
Like you will not see "The Legend of Zelda" In Hytale, because Nintendo will DMCA the heck out of the Mod.
If you make it from scratch, and don't require compensation for people to play on it, yes it should be fine. Minecraft has similar things based on WoW or LOTR and they've never had issues

I’m fine with a “live service” type game as long as it doesn’t lock you out of old content or requires you to use a premade world/general premade stuff, for example I’d like random worlds and random dungeons

AI could also be a huge benefit here.
Also thought about comment bubbles. When a monster roars, a sharp-edged bubble with "ROAR!!” in it would jump out from their mouth. If the player looks other directions, a shout will pop from one or the other side of the screen highlighting where the monster is.

Crazy how it’s been over 5 years since the trailer released, and we STILL don’t have an actual game. Just hope that this game does release without any issues, and with how much the gaming industry has changed since 2018 I honestly am worried for this games’ success.
