Yes you can make an elbow piece with maybe even some elastic or just two totally separate parts( forearm and bicep) but I didn't like the way the two parts looked so I made it as one. Best part is as I bend my arm the paint dosen't chip or crack with the plaid FX paints!
Basically after you glue the poly foam(couch foam) you put a layer of 2 millimeter foam over it and kinda tuck in the 2 millimeter foam where you want the indents to be. I hope that helped a little
