Dude, I never heard of you, Glad I found your page. I was looking for foam for cosplay, I think more people do cosplay than actually make metal armor. Might be a good niche for you.
I have always been told the true mark of an artist is the ability to switch mediums, and still have the ability to transfer your message and style. Your my dude are a true artist and craftsman.
I loved your metal bionic arm work but, like you said, it requires skills and tools not always available for everyone. This looks like a perfect compromise! You did a great job and a great service! Thank you :D
Honestly, I'd love to see more foam builds! This was great to see a template of yours translate so well to foam and would love to see more, especially the chest armor pieces you've done.
I'm a cosplayer who works with foam sometimes, but you have done a phenomenal job. You've opened my eyes to SO MANY incredible techniques! Like the rivets, screws, and just the overall skillset and approach you had towards foam. I'm really thankful
Great video, had great results. For those of you who doesn't have that form for the knuckles, I used a stainless 1/2 TBS measuring spoon with my small ball peen hammer and it worked great. Again, superb project.
I have no idea how I missed this over a year ago. I had been wanting to make this exact arm but despite buying the sheet metal and a few tools, I couldn't get everything needed together before I ended up finding out it would be banned at 80% of the conventions I go to. So I just gave up. So glad you made this.
So I decided I was going to do the bionic arm for my first medal project while working on it, my son decided he needed a winter soldier arm too. Lol. The snaps are so much easier of an idea. I was going to just try and mount it to the cloth, like the metal arm. Just glue instead of rivets. Also. Thanks for the new addiction. Working with metal is so relaxing. Makes you slow down and dishing a shoulder can help relieve a lot of stress. Lol
I think it's awesome that you're explaining how to use foam with your templates for people that don't have the space, tools, money, or skills to do them in metal. If you just want to give it away, I'll take it off your hands out of the goodness of my heart lol.
Snapping it to the shirt is a really good idea. Other than that though, I think your metal work is what really sets you apart and I would like to see especially more of that :)
Thank you SO MUCH. I love all your videos but could never phantom doing any of the things 'cause I ZERO experience with metal... But this? This is something I'll definitely try and having you guidance is of ultimate importance. I hope you can show more EVA armors tutorial along side your usual content! Thanks again man.
One thing: make sure when you heat EVA foam that your room is well ventilated. Heated foam can give off bad fumes. (Spray painting gives off bad fumes, too.)
i can’t tell the difference between the foam and metal honestly. i love both! i use foam a lot and this actually helped me learn some new things so thank you!
Just wanted to express my appreciation. I have be slowly been buying tools for my work shop. I just got the last piece I needed. Thanks for putting this up here to give me a launch point. Hopefully, I can put together some cool stuff.
I originally subscribed because of the skull helmet and love the metal work you do. However, this build looks so cool, I want to try it out as well. I would vote that you do other foam builds from time to time. Your videos are excellent and easy to follow.
Thank you, this was an awesome Eva foam tutorial and it's apparent by the realistic design that you actually work with metal. Would love to see a Doom space marine by you! Anyways thanks again.
I love EVA foam work because as you say, it's cheaper and easier to work with. I love the video and would really love to see more. How about Elven breastplates or something along those lines. Thanks for making this video and contemplating more. You have a fan.
Great video! I'm working on a costume that incorporates both foam and metal. I'll have foam weapons and a tight, stretchy glove that will be covered in small, aluminum parts to look like skin that was torn away and all that is left is the metal underneath. Can't wait until it's done.
you have good understanding how metal works, so you can make it look so real it just.. blew my mind. those purple and blue marks on the arm where the heat would come off? wow. O___O You could keep doing these, it looks so damn cool!
I love this video, it shows that not only can you use these templates for metal, but for other materials as well. I greatly appreciate you making this and will be sure to try this. it would be interesting to see you try to make the Infinity Gauntlet using foam as well
This was fun and definitely point proved with regards to the templates! Thanks for the shout out. Looking forward to seeing your next project, whatever the material.
You are correct as you say in the first part of your video most of us don't have the skills or the know how to work with metal, granted you are awesome but, back to my point since we're not that Savvy when it comes to metal work the foam video is excellent and it's something we can definitely do so please by all means do more cosplay foam armor. As always love your videos and I hope you do many more foam armor videos in the future.
The paint job really sells it and the use of not seaming it but instead forming it like you would metal gives it a much better look then conventional foam smithing. You can get wood burning tools at most craft stores. Not really sure if they run cooler then a normal iron but they give you a good choice of tip shapes for burning and working the foam details. Barge can be found at Leatherworking stores.
Great video!! I to wanna learn more builds with foam for mobility purposes. It's def another challenge that doesn't take away from metal builds. Thanks for sharing!
Dapping block part could probably be done with a cheap set of metal measuring spoons you'd find in a kitchen. Probably find something at a dollar store in the States.
I always wanted to get a faceplate for a horse for costume classes. Knights without horse armor is a bit meh. Never thought of foam. Got some good ideas here. Thank you.
It's damn impressive how you just switched to a completely different base material and got such a stunningly beautiful piece of art. Kudos! Foam is great because I doubt my neighbors would appreciate me smashing metal with a hammer hours at a time. =D
I know it's not you style. But you do some sick fake metal work. This was really cool mate. Might help me proto type the prop gauntlet (wall piece)I wanted to make.
I had actually purchased the bionic arm template with the intent of making it in foam. Already a follower of the same artists you mention at the end. Great job!
You have a great artistic talent. To go from metal to faom is a big change and it look phenomenal! I cant wait to see what else you can come up with. Great job!
Thank you for the video. For the rounded knuckles, for those without the tool, I think smaller sized ladles can work quite well, and a larger ladle in a vice of the rounding of a shoulder pad.
In addition to cheaper and less resources used; I live in Florida, there is no garage or to go out side to without getting stuck by heat index of 100 + degrees. So eva foam is more possible then anything metal. Thank you for making this and I hope you make more.
I'm giving this a try. I got your pattern, and I'm going to try using puzzle mat pieces for the foam on the arm. I'll probably get much thinner foam for the fingers and hand, but since I'm on a time constraint I'll start with the arm. This thing looks badass, so I hope I can do it justice.
Edit: I have the pieces cut, shaped, and sanded. I just tied them to a duct tape mould of my arm and I an super happy so far. It looks awesome. This is the first time I have made anything like this, and seeing it all come together is super rewarding. I got the warm and fuzzies. Haha.
Love your videos. I've wanted to try some of your templates before but I'm not set up for metal work. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. I've been wanting to try foam armor for a little while and I'm glad you decided to make this video. Thanks.
Thank you. In one video you showed me how to do what I've always wanted to learn how to do. Eva foam and a heat gun!!! Where has this been my whole life. I subscribed hoping you will make foam ones. Thanks again!!👍🏻
Great video! I've been wracking my brain trying to make the delts flush against the vest for my Colossus cosplay (Deadpool edition) and didn't think to strap them down to my belt like I see you doing here! Problem solved!
Very awesome video! For the longest time I wanted to make metal armour but I do not have the tools. It would be great to do more foam work. Of course you will stick to metal but having videos about foam is more doable anyone. Very awesome work!
Sweet, this tutorial may come in handy for a potential Scorpia cosplay from the She-Ra reboot. I'll just have to sweap out a human hand for a claw prosthetic. ^_^
I really like that you did the foam arm. I am just getting into the cosplay scene and though I would prefer to do it all in metal, I dont have the money or time.
Really appreciate you doing it in EVA. I loved your bionic arm made of metal/steel but I wanted to learn how to do something like that for a cosplay but metal would be too hard for me to do it. Most videos that teach how to do are not as good as you bro. Appreciate it. (I plan on making a whole body armor lol)
I like both ! I enjoy making the metal... I do ! But I have a 8 year old son that loves too cos play with friends in the yard and well making him metal armor is expensive time consuming he changes his mind a lot and grows really fast. The foam I can turn out a Thor or Loki iron man robo cop and his new favorite is bionic armed werewolves! So I’d like to see both ,
I'm now on PATREON! www.patreon.com/armortemplates
David Guyton you should do more of this
More foam my friend. Lots of great ideas and for us cosplayers its pure gold to get this kind of help.
Can you make me a custom halo reach armour
Dude, I never heard of you, Glad I found your page. I was looking for foam for cosplay, I think more people do cosplay than actually make metal armor. Might be a good niche for you.
The way you describe everything is very helpful. Thank you. And your Bionic Arm looks epic!
I've watched a ton of videos on making armor out of foam, you've done some stuff I haven't ever seen before that makes so much sense. I love it.
I have always been told the true mark of an artist is the ability to switch mediums, and still have the ability to transfer your message and style. Your my dude are a true artist and craftsman.
well thank you very much! I appreciate that
@@DavidGuyton no problem. Just stating facts
Yeah I think that chest one would be pretty fun in foam and it wouldn't be too difficult either
Dude, you are SO good at that. One of the best EVA builds I have seen. would love to see more.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to play with new mediums and sharing it with us.
Thank you for the shout out. You're foam arm turned out great.
Thank you sir! I couldn't have done it without your help!
I'm a cosplayer who works with foam sometimes, but you have done a phenomenal job. You've opened my eyes to SO MANY incredible techniques! Like the rivets, screws, and just the overall skillset and approach you had towards foam. I'm really thankful
Glad to hear that! It was my first time trying it and it was a lot more fun than I expected.
Please do more foam armour. I'd love to see how you'd make an articulated armor piece like the gothic gauntlet.
I'd like to see some full metal alchemist Edward Elric's arm and leg
OHHHHHH YESSSSSSSSSSS
Not me watching this to make his arm👀👀
@@OldAccount-n9fwell you go girl or boy i bet it turn or or will turn out awesome
Great video, had great results. For those of you who doesn't have that form for the knuckles, I used a stainless 1/2 TBS measuring spoon with my small ball peen hammer and it worked great. Again, superb project.
This is awesome. I'd love to see more Eva work. Can afford the metal working. Thank you
Personally I love and prefer your metal tutorials. That said I'm glad to see you doing foam tutorials as well, wider demographic for you.
I have no idea how I missed this over a year ago. I had been wanting to make this exact arm but despite buying the sheet metal and a few tools, I couldn't get everything needed together before I ended up finding out it would be banned at 80% of the conventions I go to. Glad to see you try out foam buddy, awesome work as per!
Beautifully made cosplay armor! Yeah, I like the metal working videos but these are pretty cool, too. Nice job keeping things interesting.
So I decided I was going to do the bionic arm for my first medal project while working on it, my son decided he needed a winter soldier arm too. Lol. The snaps are so much easier of an idea. I was going to just try and mount it to the cloth, like the metal arm. Just glue instead of rivets.

Awesome that you also do this for the people who cant afort the metal

A video that I'd like to see you do next is a technique video showing the types of tools to do certain shapes
Building the Doomslayer, and little jointed finger details will be a pain. Thanks for the inspiration!
More foam!!
Your metal work is amazing but for us lacking the tools, skills, and cash, the foam is a great alternative.
Really enjoyed the EVA foam tutorial. Would definitely like to see other foam tutorials in the future. Thanks for sharing you have a new subscriber.

looks freakin' awesome for your first time! Dang dude. Super cool.
This was an amazing tutorial! I pretty much have everything I need for my cosplay ideas in this video. Props to the artist!

you bet!
That hand armor is beautiful. I am inspired to try something like that just to see if it will even be close to that nice!

Would love to see more foam projects. Great video. thanks.
Great video!! I to wanna learn more builds with foam for mobility purposes. It's def another challenge that doesn't take away from metal builds. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for doing a Foam amour!!!
It turned out pretty good. I hope you add a foam version of every template that you think would be feasible to do.
Dapping block part could probably be done with a cheap set of metal measuring spoons you'd find in a kitchen. Probably find something at a dollar store in the States.
the music hypnotized me and made me focus more
Great video
I am so building this with claws for when my party members get to my bbeg I need to be able to claw them irl. Thanks for the tutorial!
More foam please. Very ingenious build.
This is looks just as good as the metal
Lol I ain't got enough eddies for chrome. This should help
DUDE!!! You KILLED IT !!!! ;)
Excellent work...battle scars look amazing!!
Those holes in the top really looks like you were blocking bullets! That looks great!
very cool you took this route a lot of people cant do the metal version but foam is very possible ... thanks for the tips and ideas :)
A good idea for those knuckles . Use the gold candy trays that hazelnut candies come in
Dave that is great, It is my opinion that I would like to see you do more foam projects and metal as well. You do a great job with both. Thanks
More videos using the foam would be very cool. Perhaps a subset of videos doing stuff with foam?
Way better than I thought it was going to be!
I know it's not you style. But you do some sick fake metal work. This was really cool mate. Might help me proto type the prop gauntlet (wall piece)I wanted to make.

Learned a ton of new techniques!!!
Rare Earth Magnets are a good alternative to snaps :)

Yes please do more!!!!! Amazing work
I would love to see some more FOAM, maybe variations of your previous builds, but in foam, just like this one :)

Dude!!!. Your way better than those "professional" foam guys... definitely keep making real armor, but please make more foam projects.
Loved it. Really like seeing how your creations convert to a foam build.
We want more EVA !
Great video btw ! :D
You should made a full bionic suit that would be bad ass
I would love if you could make more pieces in foam. As a 16 year old 20 gauge steel is harder to obtain than foam
Love your videos. I've wanted to try some of your templates before but I'm not set up for metal work. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. I've been wanting to try foam armor for a little while and I'm glad you decided to make this video. Thanks.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO going to do this. You are really a great teacher.
Woah! Nicely done!! Buying template from your site now!!
wow very good job, i really want see more armor with foarm that is very intresting. can't wait to see the next video
I love the foam builds. I play airsoft so foam is perfect got any kind of armor I would use. And much easier and cheaper to get where I am.
Thank you. In one video you showed me how to do what I've always wanted to learn how to do. Eva foam and a heat gun!!! Where has this been my whole life. I subscribed hoping you will make foam ones. Thanks again!!👍🏻
HOLYY SHIIET, UR AUTOMAIL IS AWESOME
Great tutorial! Will love to see more like these.
Using a sander wheel will help you round the edges. Great video!
Great video! I've been wracking my brain trying to make the delts flush against the vest for my Colossus cosplay (Deadpool edition) and didn't think to strap them down to my belt like I see you doing here! Problem solved!
its like Eduard Elric's Automail Arm..... 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Metal is perfection. Viktor
Very awesome video! For the longest time I wanted to make metal armour but I do not have the tools. It would be great to do more foam work. Of course you will stick to metal but having videos about foam is more doable anyone. Very awesome work!
Ugh..first time?
And makes it so easily 😯
Evil Ted foam anvil, works great

I'd love to see you make Bucky's new arm from Infinity War, I'm trying to make one for cosplay, my first attempt wasn't great
