- Welcome to this new SUPboarder 'how to' video series - Getting into SUP touring & exploring www.supboardermag.com/2019/06.... In this series we will be guiding you through every step to becoming a confident and safe SUP tourer and explorer. In part one we take a look at 'What is SUP touring?' and how you can get involved. This series is going to cover many topics including planning routes, what you should take, how to pack, before finally taking you on your first SUP touring trip vlog style. Many of you guys have been asking us about SUP touring and exploring so we're really excited about this series.

Is all around board ok for touring? It’s my first isup
An all-round board can definitely be used to explore a little. The reason you would go for a touring shape is because it will paddle faster which means you can paddle for longer on the water and get to those places a little further away. But if you are exploring close by, an all-round board is suitable too. Hope this helps. Beau

So im kind of new to SUP, however i'm in love and would love to start doing some touring however I'm not too sure where i can learn about the water types and water safety when out at sea. Where can i learn all this stuff?

Is a touring SUP is best for lakes?
It can be, for sure. If you want to paddle further it is best.
