Getting into paddle board camping and this is one of the absolute best videos on packing and planning I have found. Lots of great tips and items to pack specific to paddling and safety on the water. Would love if you continued more videos along these lines. Great to share all of the info from experienced paddlers.
The point about testing your gear and getting comfortable using it can't be highlighted enough. A lot of great new gear out there, but you need to be able to use it quickly and easily in the dark, when cold, tired, etc. New tent or hammock or pad or whatever, set up camp in your backyard or close by for a night to see what it's like. Cook dinner on your back porch with your new stove, etc. You might find an issue, or at least get a little practice with what works best or what order to do things most efficiently.
Excelent presentation!I think 5 or 6 m of paracord can help also. For me the guilty pleasure are some small led lights on batteries over the hamock. This year I wil try the Draumur Amok from a norvegian comp. Cheers from Romania :)
I’m so glad I found your video. Very informative. Thank you for making the video and sharing. What’s the brand/model of the yellow kit bag/duffel bag in the video? What size is it? Thank you
Why isn't a tide chart part of your ten essentials? When I am sea kayaking in BC, or the San Juans, I am religious in planning my time on the water based on the tides. He briefly mentioned tides, but not nearly emphasizing how important it is. I haven't used my SUP yet for touring, but there is no way anyone should go out and not know what the tides are doing. You can get sucked out into the Straits, or through some really scary places when the tides are ripping. There is no way someone on a SUP board is going to be able to fight them. I am almost dumbfounded that you didn't go over that in this video.
Hey Richard don't be dumbfounded, realize that this video is for what to pack and how to pack it. 10 Essentials is an overall gear list that you would have for doing trips in the outdoors and it is not specific to paddling. Of course tides are important and I did mention keeping track of your tides which I do in my write in the rain journal. Just as important as tides is weather, which I also keep track of in my journal, on my weather radio and with my phone but this is a video about gear to bring not a video on decision making or navigation which would include weather, sea state(tides, currents etc) , terrain and human factor......norm
Hey Tim, Norm is wearing the mustang survival Khimera duel float - same as James, its just an older model. escaperoute.ca/products/khimera-pfd?_pos=1&_psq=khim&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Some people like the movement of SUPS more. It also offers a full-body workout and is more portable. At the end of the day, it is all up to personal preference!
I enjoy a standup paddleboard as a tool for coastal exploration a lot more than a kayak and for a number of reasons. I love pushing the sport and developing the gear to be efficient. And to me it's just way more enjoyable and comfortable....norm
I'm starting to feel what ur saying. I'm starting to transition into sup camping more now. Have the Voyager 13’2, just an excellent board. Great advice guys!

Great video. In Switzerland we have some nice lakes, too, but nothing that comes close to this. Where is this?
This is in Squamish, British Columbia in Canada!
@@EscapeRouteCA brilliant!
Thanks!
No problem! Happy to share the knowledge.
Can I review your video for SUP Tour in Korean?
Hey, not really sure what reviewing our video means?
@@EscapeRouteCA I can explain your video in Korean.

Y not bring a kayak instead? Carries a lot more cargo.
