The G-Cloud has become my portable Xbox and Playstation handheld thanks to remote play, and it is now my retro go device as I now have all of the retro emulators running flawlessly. It is now my portable Dreamcast, N64, PS1, Gamcube, Mame, Super Nes, Genesis player on the go. I love the G-Cloud.
I just ordered one of these. I don't have it in hand yet, but from what some people on Reddit said, you can put larger files on the SD card, but you have to use the G Cloud to format it as internal storage. You won't be able to just remove the card and use it on a PC, you instead have to leave it in the G Cloud and plug that into the PC. Some said the file transfer speed was slower, but at least you can put larger files on it.
Yes this is correct. It just takes forever to transfer the files to the SD via usb cable. If it takes an hour to fill a 512gb card on your pc it will take something like 24 hours to fill via usb cable
Nice vid! Bought this a few days ago direct from Logi for $250 shipped and I agree that $200 seems more appropriate given it's a few years old now. Excited to mess around with it today.
Good video. My G Cloud has become one of my favorite handhelds. Since it's Android, I've set it up with emulators out the wazoo and put all of my ROMs on the SD card for easy access. When it comes to modern games, streaming over WiFi with Game Pass and GeForce Now gives me access to quite a bit of my library in good enough quality on the handheld. Bonus over my Steam Deck though is battery life. Baldur's Gate 3 kills my Deck within a couple of hours, through GeForce Now I can stream for an hour or two and the battery is only hit 10-20%
Sounds like my experience. I normally use my GCloud in bed and charge once maybe in a rare occasion twice a week. I’ve also found a ton of games that run well where I prefer to play them on the GCloud to the Steam Deck k. Also once my de k dies I plugged it in and stream it to the GCloud
Wow pretty neat. And it seemed over price but was curious about it. I think this one is the one to get though. Nice screen! No mumbo jumbo! We'll see what I do
Love the GCloud. Take a look at Best buy returns they are often in there from people who don't know what they are and you can get them pretty cheap as an open box
@@CellPhish thank you it only had one small problem so I can't complain and that is it won't let me redeem the one free month of gfroce pority that's supposed to come with just keeps saying oops and something about it being paused however I did get to redeem the 3 months Xbox pass so not all bad
Nah it would get terrible battery life and overheat or need a fan and that would drive the price up as well as weight, etc. if there’s a newer version of the same processor then that’s all it needs with some better sticks and a lower starting price. $250 for a v2 would be perfect and people would buy them.
I just got this yesterday & I am IN LOVE with it. I got it for 239 DELIVERED including tax from Amazon - that may not sound amazing, but when you take into account that I live in Thailand & we usually have to pay around 30-50% tax depending on how greedy customs are feeling... and that delivery for an item this size from most US based companies would be around 100... it's a steal. I had a Steam Deck & I absolutely hated it. It's an absolute brick & I just never enjoyed using it once given my other handheld is a Switch OLED. Im partially disabled & don't really game on the go, so this is great for playing when I'm in bed and my fiance wants to watch something on TV & I want to play something on my PC (a regular occurrence!) Still haven't worked out how stream from PS5 yet... any help would be appreciated What racing game is that?!
Sounds like we have a lot in common. PSPlay works with the PlayStation. There is another app I use as well that I need to look at the name. I’ll double back with that. You got the GCloud for a steal. I paid $100 more in the states. I was able to walk into a BestBuy and didn’t have to wait but I would have gladly waited to get it for 239.
@@CellPhish yeah was a real steal. I'm so fussy about my electronics & gaming stuff/screens/ergonomics are very highly scrutinised... this is an absolute winner & as much as I understand why people think $299 is too much - personally I think it's totally reasonable fmin my use case. Far better than a Steam Deck for me!!
It’s just a 7inch monitor hooked up as a secondary monitor and for devices I review I make a quick gif in procreate to run on that screen. Now you know my secret 😂
If you use a HDMI to USB c adapter you can play on a large TV, it'll cost you roughly 11 dollars at Walmart so screen size is not an issue. It's plug and play no setup
Hmmm well I've got an Odin 2 and the RP4 Pro just like you and I can't decide if I want to grab the G Cloud to replace the Odin 2. I want the bigger screen for the streaming aspect which is what I use the Odin 2 for 95% of the time. Do you think it's a much better streaming device?
It may now support exFat after the latest software update I haven’t seen anything. The only way you could really do it is set you SD to internal non-portable storage and transfer via USB cable which would take a lifetime to load the card but is possible.
Yes 1080p 60fps. But the images often look either muddy or washed out a lot of the time depending on your Internet connection which is unfortunate. We need a public jailbreak and a dev team to take it to another level
Like a device with a low-end processor. It can play a lot of 2D games but I wouldn't buy it for Switch. If you want to stream there definitely not a better handheld for that
ya know I was seriously about to buy one of these off of Ebay for 200, but I realized that using my phone (z fold) with a gamesir X2S ( NOT THE PRO NOR THE X2), I achieve better results, and ok battery life as you're not playing natively on the phone. and nowadays any new iPhone or android will demolish the g cloud in emulation/ native games. Just a thought to any out those like me, you never know, your phone might even support Wi-Fi 6! Mines does 6e and I just found out. with my wifi 6 router, golden. $40 controller for phone tailored to you vs $200 g cloud, you choose. EVERYBODY HAS A G CLOUD ALREADY IN THEIR POCKETS, JUST MAKE YOURS ONE WITH A CONTROLLER.
It’s a valid perspective. It really comes down to things like feel, comfort, longevity, battery, and a handful of others for me. I personally can’t get myself to game on my phone. If I’m going to have to carry around a game pad then I’m going to get a dedicated handheld. Being able to optimize a handheld once and have it setup the way you want it not spending that gaming time making tweaks every time is a big win too. But my biggest thing is notifications. When I’m gaming I don’t want my screen getting blocked out by phone calls, text messages, notifications and calendar reminders. With the GCloud I use it in bed most the time and have to charge it about once a week. My phone is charging during that time. If I bring it on the go I’m not carrying a game pad and battery charging brick for my phone in order to not worrying about everything dying on me and again using something optimized to give me the best possible experience every time. To each their own friend nothing you said was inaccurate. I got super excited to not have to use the Alt Store with the delta app on my iPhone. Played it once then remembered I hate playing retro games on a touchscreen. I do however have dedicated tablets I use with telescopic controllers and love those too, but I only use them for gaming.
That G-Cloud...needs an update heart transplant... Snapdragon 8 gen 1+ or 2... And a good cooling system... Thanks for having the Best Android base Handheld on Deck... AyN Odin 2... Transparent Blue Editio... Top left of your screen... 🫠🙃🧐🤓😎🥸🤯

It got a bad wrap at launch and I couldn’t agree more. It can really do most everything I want it to do

I got mine last week for 140 from mercari. Had case and the grip case. It's amazing.
Awesome deal

I feel like they were planning to do something with the sd card slot but things didnt go well
I dunno I’ve wondered that. Or that it costs next to nothing no put it in and they were like let’s see what the people do with it
If Logitech refreshed this to a snapdragon 8 it would be seriously one of the best android handhelds period

Bro, calm down on the red bulls and energy drinks. You came out the gate fast
I have a speech issue I’ve been working on. My newer videos are slower. Thanks for looking out
$299-350 is a tough sell with the Ayn Odin 2 at $330-400
I agree. Always been hard to swallow. Can often find it open box for $200 at BestBuy

Thanks 💚🙏
what is the white box that is flipping between animation that sitting on top of the red handheld device and where can i get one?

It received an update for video put via usb-c. I set mine on a dock but the concept would be the same
Nice vid man. Didn't expect the HDMI out update. Does it have a camera for vid calls?

@@CellPhish bummer
Awww such a cute baby
Thank you
Overpriced with a wonky d pad is kind of a dealbreaker. If they want to charge 300, got to get those things right.
I rarely use the DPad, I mostly stream Tripple A games with it
Ive seen video of people moving larger than 4gig files onto their sd card. Im confused now 😅

Hot wheels

Oh yes I have all the Odins. In the GCloud’s defense it’s a streaming handheld. They could have put a weaker chip in it lol.
The chip in the G cloud does not need cooling.
