@ the sales manager who is also a friend of mine tells me that Australia is yet to receive it’s allocations, pricing and even specification level of the models. I placed a deposit on a manual GR Yaris GTS. I’m not sure what the GTS gets that the GT does not get. Thanks again!
At this point in Australia I still can’t get a price, delivery date or even when it will be available for order. Seems they don’t want to release any info
Same with me. I think these will $80k and the Corolla $85k, both would be a no for me at that price. I’m happy to pay $68k for the new gr yaris, any higher and to me it’s not worth it and will consider golf r or i30n. I check the website weekly for upcoming model information and nothing. I’ve also made a connection with a dealer and they also not calling for any information. Thinking this is going be extremely limited run and selling for higher price this round.
Nice update, will you be doing a walk around and onboard as well ?. I'd turned down the offer of the ballot in the UK, pity we couldn't transfer it to someone who wanted one. Must admit the autobox looks a nice addition as I get older, love that colour, just too much money for me . Regards Russ.....🙏
I love the color too, the auto box is surely a good option for people wanting to have a mixed use of the car! I have some more footage, but this will go out on Instagram
I also turned down the ballot. The gen 1 is plenty enough, I only have 9000 miles, abd the cost to change a bit too much for the amount I use the GR. I don’t do track days any more and find the gen 1 more than enough fun on Uk road for my Sunday B road blasts.
Hello Oghi, it is a pleasure! Yes, both Gen.1 & Gen.2 are very compliant cars, so it will be comfortable to drive on city (and shitty 😂) roads. The manual version has a very soft clutch, that is fine in traffic. The automatic is auto, so very smooth and simple. I personally prefer the connection the manual box provides, but both are great cars!
Though in principle I love driving stick, I don't have the talent to get the GR Yaris perform as it deserves. So, I welcome the AT one. Hopefully your solutions apply. By the way can you tune an AT gearbox?
I know quite a few people with a gen 1 GR, unbelievable cars, when people start picking fault its rather silly in my opinion, these are the people who drive them to death, people need to remember these are 1.6 3 cylinder engines, unbelievable for what they are. Gen 1 with a few modifications can be 100% perfect, it depends on really what you want. Still the best car in its class by a mile in my opinion
No way mate: it’s only a small, incremental addition of power over the Gen.1: also delivery is a bit different (at least on tested car), but it’s not more than 15-20bhp. A Gen.1 with a map would destroy a stock Gen.2 even without hardware
Hello @AJClubsport, very interesting your first impressions, the question would be, with the right modifications, can the gen1 match the gen2? And the other one, maybe it's a bit early, but would the gen1 upgrades be compatible with the gen2 if someone wanted to make the switch, or is it still too soon to know about their compatibility? Have a nice day.
Hello, Apart from the exhaust, basically all the parts are interchangeable. The performance is very close among the two generations, we are talking of tweaks… If you do an Ecutek map on the Gen 1 you will be much faster, just to simplify.
I never spoke about Porsche! The auto Yaris will be slightly faster than the manual on a single hotlap, but I don’t think it would be faster over long sessions. In the video I was talking about rally road driving, where the extra connection to manual makes me think I would be faster in the manual
@AJClubsport I know you didn't mention Porsche but I was using it as an apology. Where in the professional racing where large money is invested do they still use manual cars? I used to be a save the manuals guy, but saying that is like trying to get rid of power windows and going back to manual cranks to feel the engagement of rolling down windows.
I don’t agree with you on this, I’m sorry. This is a street car, not a race car. I am sure I can beat myself with the manual version, because I tested both and I know how they both behave at the limit on rally roads. If you prefer the automatic that is fine with everyone, this is my personal preference
I pre ordered this car in an automatic for my daily commute in traffic etc. hope I didn’t make the wrong decision lol. Is the auto gearbox smooth and quick?
Thanks for the reply! can you elaborate a little more on it being too soft? Do you mean there is no feel to it? Or the auto box doesn’t do its job properly?
The electronic mapping of the gear changes is very smooth and gives less mechanical feedback than what you would expect, therefore feeling more like an automatic transmission than a mechanical/dual clutch unit
@@PIRASMotorsport appreciate you explaining it for me! I have an FL5 type R at the moment and I can’t be bothered driving manual daily so I was looking for an auto car for my daily traffic driving and by the sounds of it, I’m sure it would be perfect for that. We get the 300hp version of this car as well in Australia which is nice. Anyways, thanks from Australia 🇦🇺
Have you driven the new GR Yairs Automatic? Let me know what your impressions are!
Great content as always 👍
Thank you John 🙏🥂
Been waiting for your thoughts on the Gen 2!
Thankyou mate, finally I managed !! 💪🏼
Your advice helped me to choose a manual GR Yaris. Now to wait 6-9 months for my car to arrive (Australia)
I’m very happy to have helped, as shocked that waiting cars are still so long!!

@@heaych I don't understand why they don't just stick with the Japanese writing RZ/RZ+...
Please let me know if you find out pricing and allocation details!
@ I will for sure

Sorry for that, it’s incredible, knowing how close you are to Japan! Please keep us updated!
I’m also in Australia and waiting for more info so I can order one
@heaych hopefully they will release them soon enough!

Hi and thank you for this content. My question is: Will this car behave ok on city roads or it to rough?

In that case it would be the best option mate! At the moment it can’t be tuned, but I am sure Ecutek is already at work on it!
Big question: is the g2 with auto at £50k, good value compared to G1 at £35k?
In my opinion not at all mate
Definately agree , with a few mods the Gen1 will be able to match the Gen 2 , it is a B road car in my mind .
Regards Russ...🙏

I totally agree with you!
Do you feel like it’s even more power than a GR Yaris with a map, or stock map with exhaust+airbox+opf delete or what do you think?

Has anyone put power through the automatic yaris yet
Yes, but the AT isn’t Syvecs compatible, intercoolers don’t fit without mods and various other headaches…
Thanks to you think it will handle. A g25 turbo kit
I’ve heard the GRMN intake makes a difference mid/top range.
That may be, but its just incremental, not like the intakes we are making!

I tried it and the box is super soft, even too soft.
@@Paul922 yes, much softer that a calibration that you find on BMW M's for example. I think they are trying to please too wide of an audience...
