- After installing the new KW Clubsport 3-Way suspension and Endless ME20 brake pads on our GR Yaris yesterday, I thought that on today's schedule the only thing left would be alignment. Not the case when you're dealing with @manthey-racing4370. Surprise track test it is. Unfortunately, it started raining as I got in the car and I thought there was nothing exciting to expect. I was wrong. So wrong.

Looks like the ride height, as expected, was dropped in the rear to get more weight back there - pretty sure that is what you were feeling in terms of surprising grip levels - and then getting everything in the zone so you can use the diffs to hold the rear end in under more aggressive acceleration - to me, that was the icing on the cake when I got my GT3 really dialled in - make that rear end so locked down that you could get insanely aggressive with the throttle knowing the diff was working with the suspension - it's magical when you get it right

When Misha Drives, it's hard for anyone to talk. Either they're puckering their cheeks with exhilaration or utter fear. Such a great car. We have the sub-compact sedan variant of the Yaris over here. It doesn't even remotely look like the GR Yaris nor it will drive like it I am sure. Anyway looking forward to your fun and enjoyable times with this thing. This was a great snippet of it.
I can't wait to see how the Yaris develops. I suspect great things will come! Congrats again guys....easily my fav in the fleet at the moment.

If only more manufacturers realized the value of smiles versus lap times. As a previous owner of multiple Evos and STIs, the lust for the GR Yaris is off the charts.
Who expected that someone would get so excited over the handling of a Yaris? It's really awesome to see that it made so much difference right after the mods without too much testing. Definitely shows the skill and knowhow from Raeder/Manthey

I have the feeling that there are going to be a whole flock of GR Yaris in the Apex parking lot this summer.
So I went out in my friends GR at Oulton Park in very wet conditions and it was the most impressive car I have been in a long time. This was a totally stock setup and it was suffering from understeer but as I said very wet, it will be interesting to see if the understeer can be cured with geo alone and stock suspension. I will be trying this on mine when it arrives!

Order mine half January '21 with delivery in June '21 and the dealer informed me later that last orders can be collected until Feb. 5th. Not sure if you still can place an order. I will check it out with Toyota. (Belgium)

I cant get enough trackdays with my GR Yaris. Loving it so much, nice to see the guys with alot of experience are all going for the same equipment I have also! I never had AR1 before but got some after seeing the video Robert did about all the tires they use at Apex. Theyre mega noisy for road but great for my track wheels

with nurburigings's highspeed high elevation change braking the risk is too high
speaking of that, wish someone could to a DAS rear toe setup for AWD cars

Even the GP track in the wet is slippery AF, with a BMW you can barely use the throttle and need to stay off the dry line. This yaris is impressive with this setup and 4WD it seems!
Nice. I guess the semislick hold up in the wet when there is not enough water yet. The moment its few grooves get flooded it's over. But what do I know..

With the camber adjustable topmounts i get max 2.5 degrees of negatice camber on my fiesta 😭. And you have to do some cutting to be able to adjust them without removing them.

Hi Misha!
As an amateur driver who watches too much UA-cam, my impression was that handling balance (oversteer vs understeer) is often dictated by the car's on-power handling. For example, you want a FWD car to oversteer at the limit because you can settle it down with the gas pedal whereas a RWD car often wants some understeer because getting on the gas helps the car rotate. Setting them up this way seems to give you more options in controlling the car mid-corner. Have you heard of pro drivers ask for setups like a RWD car that oversteers at the limit? If so, could you share any understanding you have of why someone might make that decision?
