@@comyuse9103 I believe that a lot of features in Outward are inspired by mods made for Bethesda games. That may be the reason for a feeling you have since those mods are made to complement each other and already fully made games. This game is awesome as hell, my first run i stepped boldly outside the starting town and was promptly knocked unconscious by a giant chicken after foolishly thinking i knew how to aim a bow and arrow good enough.
This was actually a rly good video, seeing Jon freak out and struggle in Outwards combat was hilarious but it was also super cool seeing him develop these plans and successfully carry them out. Hoping to see more of this in the future.
Love the echo effect on your voice at 41:10, I think you should use it all the time. Also - godamn this game looks fun !! Would love to see more of it on the Channel.
After years of following arrows to where I gotta go and the fact I could get lost in a brown paper bag in real life, I'm going to buy this. It looks amazing and fun. I may never finish it (something I hate doing), but it looks quite the experince.
My biggest tip would be "DO NOT IGNORE DEADLINES" when it tells you to get all that silver in like 3 days at the start you really need to get it done. (There are ways to complete that quest without paying)
@@mrcheesemunch And my biggest tip would be "take your time". You can stay in the first village for 20 hours and make REAL progress that lasts for the rest of the game. It's best to take things slow and come over-prepared whenever you can.
it's recommended for you to drop your backpack when entering a fight, because when you roll the backpack takes dmg. (can drop it by pressing B on keyboard or up in D-pad)

@41:42 I wonder if this gorgeous editing was Claire's handiwork. :D Thank you for the lovely video. I really enjoyed seeing your first experience with the game. It feels like the sort of balance between pain and conquest the devs might have been aiming for (assuming there wasn't too much struggling that got left out in the editing). You handled Blister Burrow like a boss, btw. :) This might be an interesting candidate for a Co-op series. The online Co-op is a *bit* buggy for the non-hosting player, though. For example, attempting to access a chest in the host's world (especially after sleeping in a tent where the other player appears to be slithering on the ground) leads to a scenario where items won't actually get moved. When I play with my friend, I also occasionally need to roll back to a prior character save in debug mode if I lose some items. One time, our connection failed to start and my character bounced back to my own world with nothing: default name, no purchased skills, no equipped items. Another bit of weirdness is that certain failure scenarios (when you both get KO'd) will operate differently for the host than they do for the second player, but that seems to be intended by the devs.
Wow! I was gonna recommend for you to play this on your next live stream through a shoutout! haha Happy your playing it now! Instant like! Can't wait for Soroboreans to come out. I'm buying the dlc right away to support Nine Dots.

The cheapest arrows I own costs like R$16,00 each. Good quality arrows cost as much as R$35,00 each. Which is ludicrous. 35 reais is enough for a good quality all you can eat restaurant with your choice of meats and salads. Including Lasagna, french fries, and all sorts of good stuff.
Me oh it's got a stamina system like dark souls you can't just flail wildly. Jon, swings wildly 10-15 feet away, closes while swinging, dies while swinging...
Personally I can't wait until they come out with another. This game has such a great foundation, I would love to see more! On my wishlist for later for sure.
Plus there's lots of fight styles to explore. I turned on debug mode just to explore it and each class is amazingly fun. Mages are fun too if you know how to handle mana xD you can summon spirits, heal yourself, and shoot lightning.

John, if you like games like this, you're going to have to try Kenshi. It's one of those games that manages to do what Xcom does, where you will create your own stories for all the unique/randomly generated characters you meet along the way. Selling people into slavery is a genuine moral issue you have to evaluate doing. Spending medicines on an ally instead of leaving them to die is another one. If you allow it to come down to a straight fight between you and another vagrant who has survived for longer, you are going to be cut into pieces, cooked, and cannibalized, unless you're at the point where you are leading a very literal growing nation, sieging out bandit camps and ancient towers, securing roads and farmland where the Second Empire failed before you.

Just -1? Sometimes it seems like more than that. 😇🤫😅
"I need money to restore my maximum health" proceeds to sell the pungent past that, according to its tooltip, restores maximum health and stamina.
