Talk about letting go of the past. I read a story about a tourist visiting Siem Reap and went to a party in a village. They were sitting on a log eating/drinking/smoking with the locals. Their guide said after that the person that was sitting next to the tourist was forced to join the Khmer Rouge and had killed people in the village. Asked how could they eat/drink with him? Answer-That was a long time ago.
Sharing this with my friends made it that much better for me. I'm not sure how good of a tour guide I would make, but I'll happily show my friends around if they are interested. Haha
Fun Fact: Part of what helps Siem Reap keep it's charm is that no building can be taller than Angkor Wat. This means you'll never see 20+ story condo blocks and high-rise commercial buildings gentrifying this gem of a town.
I agree. It's basically how I process and heal these days. All of these temples speak to me in different ways. Depending on how I feel decides which temple I need to visit. It's amazing
Thank you, The top one is an Amulet from a temple in Bangkok. Luke in the video gave them to all of us during his stay here and I plan on wearing it all the time. the bottom one is a Celtic cross that I picked up and a Renaissance Faire years ago. It reminds me of a trip I took to Ireland with my father years ago. I like to wear memories of things that are importanntto me

Yep. That sounds about right. The people here are wonderful and that story sounds exactly how they are here.
Glad to see you with friends… you need to be a tour guide for SR…

I think you mean the building can’t be taller than Angkor Wat…😂🎉😢
I love that nothing can be taller than Angkor Wat here. It definitely helps to keep its charm.
Cheaper than therapy… very relaxing…

Very beautiful place… you allow the temple to show itself…
That's the best way. These places have their own story to tell. We only need to listen.
