Thanks for watching. Its nice to know that the membership preview of the videos works. I also found out that the emojis only seem to work from the desktop and not the app. They should pop up if you type in frugal.
Thanks for sharing, Sean and good morning! I heard it finally rained there. The abbot that lives in that temple is the oldest living monk in Cambodia. He has been in monkhood all his life. He is around 88 years old
Hey Seth. Yes we did get rain yesterday afternoon and it was everything I could have hoped for. I wonder if the abbot I saw that chanted when the gentleman was pruning the palm tree. He seemed considerably older than the others in the area. Not sure.
The Wats are little oases of calm. Wat Bo has one of the larger garden areas. There is a big Wat Bo school so that road can get chaotic at times. I lived around the corner in 2019. Keep well
I walked past the school when I left and they were just getting out. It was great to see the hustle and bustle after such a calm experience. I will go back again and enjoy the gardens again. It was amazing.
I honestly try to just showcase the beautiful place and try not to say too much. Most of the time I just want to enjoy it too and I'm quiet because I'm just in awe.
Good to know that I was able to describe it properly. The chanting changing volume like that was wild. It honestly felt like a wave of energy coming over me as it happened. It's a moment I won't soon forget about.
haha i said to you that visit the temples..just sit in on a bench in the shadow and drink a coffee or eat something and enjoy the peace and gardens many monks are pretty chatty and social too.....It looks like a fairly big temple area complete with monk school relicfactory crematory and familygraves etc and if its a monk invitation or funeral it will get like a makeshift market with food stands too =)
I have gone back to the first temple I visited last week a few times. There is a great little coffee shop nearby, and I've done just that. Sat there in the calm and enjoyed my coffee. I'm not sure how much fun a video like that would be, but I'm more than happy to make one if anyone is interested.
Sometimes I am unintentionally funny like that. Haha. It was a great way to spend the day. I am planning on going back tomorrow just for a walk through and to grab a bit of that peace and calm again. It's a great way to start your day. I filmed this yesterday and I'm still feeling the effects it's had on me. Absolutely wonderful.
It is a different way of life over here and the amount of respect that the people have for properties and buildings like these is very evident. I love the fact that a quiet and calm place can just be like that without any outside influences. It's amazing here.
Hello. I've been here for two and a half months so far and I just applied for my 1 year visa extension. I don't plan on leaving any time soon. I love Cambodia. The people and the country are amazing.
Hey Frugal. Can you please do a video explaining your gaming situation in Cambodia? I know it won't appeal to everyone but I know there are gamers (like myself) who is inspired by you who games heavily and lives abroad. Please make a video on this topic in full discussion
I've always been a bit bothered with the fact that so many opulent and grandiose Synagogues, Churches, Temples, and Mosques have been built and maintained throughout the ages while there are starving and suffering people amongst them. I often wonder what the higher power thinks of this.
I have been through the Vatican and a bunch of other churches in the west and I can attest that the opulence in most of those places is over the top. Especially the Vatican. The simple fact that the red marble which is a very rare stone, and is worth more than gold and 99% of it is just sitting at the Vatican and one huge piece was cut and looked like a giant bird bath. As beautiful as things are at the wats here, I do not see any of that same kind of over the top. They are very beautiful, but I've also seen some that were more run down but just as beautiful and impressive. There are a lot of things that I consider a huge waste of time and especially money. Professional sports is one of those things to me. The money spent on the stadiums, the marketing and in general by people to see the games , is all money and energy that could be put to better use. There are a million examples of it and it's a shortcoming of humanity in general and not just in religious places. At this stage of my life, I just go to enjoy the beauty and the peaceful feeling. I actually was able to meditate for a few minutes at one today. It was a great feeling and I'm happy that there was a place that I could visit and enjoy like that.
@@FrugalWanderer My comment wasn't to infer that religious structures aren't inspirational or that they don't invoke peace and tranquility. The resources used to create them could have been used in lessening the suffering of the poor is my contention.
I agree. I was just stating that there are a lot of things out there that are also very expensive and the money from those could also be used to help the suffering of others. I'm sorry if I was clear in my agreement. I think that in general, humanity could do a lot more than me are doing in that way. I'm hopeful that it will change one day.
@@FrugalWanderer I'm in total agreement with you there Sean. My hope is that you continue enjoying Siem Reap or anywhere else that you choose to wander.
I see that there are new temples being built all of the time. Is it because building a temple is the same as building a church in America in that rich people do it for tax purposes ? Or maybe to make an income from charging people to go inside the temple?
no buddist temples are nothing like american churches and tax reduction etc and most are completely free to enjoy and wander around (if u want make a small offering its up to you) temples are more like a complete society thing..affecting the community from start of life to death..complete with crematoriums and even schools ..Buddism have 500 millions followers all over the world
Buddhist temples are free to enter. Donate only if you wanted to.😊 By the way, there is no such thing as a tax deduction for building a temple in Cambodia. Rich people build temples to gain good merits for their next life.😅❤❤
It looks like everyone has taken care of responding for me. Haha. Yeah the use of temples here is free and they accept donations if you want, but the donation boxes are typically diminutive and not in your face. All I really know about them is that they have been beautiful places to visit and relax in and all of them are powerful places that will affect you in a great way if you are open to experiencing it. I truly love visiting them.
What you do not see is me nodding and smiling to the monks. I do not want to ever try and force myself on any of them while they are busy with their day. If a monk wants to talk with me and is comfortable with the camera, then I will happily do that. Otherwise I do not want to impose on them. I have way too much respect for what they are doing.
@@FrugalWandererIf you sit and relax long enough they'll find you. Most are hilarious and very sociable you don't need to leave the camera on. I passed there this evening and 3 monks were laughing so much pushing a wooden cart filled with cats and dogs. It was joy.
Peacefulness, tranquility, solitude, quiet, nature, beauty. Thanks for sharing Sean!

Getting the chill by watching
It got me again when I watched it back. What a great moment for me. I loved it there.
Great tour of Wat Bo.👍
Thank you. I always try to let the location be the showcase. I just enjoy being there and letting it take center stage.

Great video very deep peaceful place.so special. Love it.
It was an amazing place to visit and an experience I'll never forget.
Very scenic tour fully stimulated with the beautiful buildings and sound… you can smell the nature..

It was exactly as you described to me yesterday, the volume of the chanting just increased seemingly at random, incredible!

Mind blowing , the incense comment was funny ! A nice way to spend a day 🙂

Amazing that you can walk into a temple and visit freely. In the US, the police or security guard would be involved… or ask to leave…

Thank you Sean, absolutely amazing.Very tranquil and
peaceful. I hope one day to travel to Cambodia and have hoped to live there one day...
It's a very special place and I hope you are able to make it here one day. I know that I'm glad to be here.
Otherworldly watching this. Thanks.
The chanting at the end was one of the best things I've ever encountered while wandering around. I absolutely loved it.
such a relaxing and mind free
It was a truly wonderful place to visit. I had a great time there.
Your temple videos are very pleasing to watch.
Thank you. I really enjoy making them. Each temple I've visited has been amazing.
Beautiful…awesome Sean. 🙏
I'm so happy that I went to visit it. What a lovely space.
Hello, I am Cambodia, thank you for coming to Cambodia, how many days have you been visiting Cambodia?
Hello. I've been here for two and a half months so far and I just applied for my 1 year visa extension. I don't plan on leaving any time soon. I love Cambodia. The people and the country are amazing.
Spectacular!
I agree. It was an amazing place to wander for a bit
Welcome to Cambodia
Thank you. It's a wonderful country and I love being here.
❤️️❤️️❤️️
Those plants at
02:39 are awesome !!
I agree. The plants throughout the entire Wat were amazing.
Haha
This temple is huge.
It absolutley is. I was honestly shocked by it when I realized that I had been walking for a while and I hadn't seen the end.
I’m definitely visiting this temple on my next trip in November. Thank you sharing

I never thought of that. I could come up with something. Thanks for the suggestion.

I suggest you interact with the monks
