I actually bought a 6700xt a couple of months ago when they dropped below $400US. I looked at the benchmarks between it and the RTX 3060 and the future proofing of 1440P really stood out for me in addition to the performance at 1080P. I am using a 1080P monitor for now but my plan is to upgrade within the next year to a nice 144mhz 1440P monitor. So that's where I'm at and why I did it.

Awesome timing! I just got a 6750XT this weekend for about 520 euros and I'm very happy with the results, nice to see that it's not all just Nvidia and their crazy current prices.
Great purchase, here in Germany prices are similar. Still not good but hey better than 800€ what we would have paid a few months ago
@@dricebaker6594 AMD actually dropped below MSRP with most of their cards in the last few month and offer quite decent value for the price.
You can get a 6600 for ~250€, a 6700xt for ~400€ and a top of the line 6950xt for ~850€ (which is faster than a 3090 that starts at 1250€).
I was waiting for 3060ti/3070 prices to ever drop - still well above the MSRP (which was increased from 400/500 to 430/550), so I went with a Asus RX6700xt instead for 420 and it performs great.

Love AMD but waiting for more AI. 7000 range for $899 with 24 gb going to trash the mid range AMD cards in a few weeks.
6700 XT are definite beasts. I just got a used one for 220 USD and it's absolutely shreds any game at 1080P. I also recommend undervolting it, i got mine from 190W to 120W with 5-7% performance decrease. Absolutely worth it, especially in this current situation of ballooning energy prices.
UV is incredible for cooler temps and less noise but 120 vs 190w does very little to your electricity bill. It's like $25 vs $30/month for your entire PC. Nobody cares.
It depends heavily on energy costs in your area, and how much you use it.
@@dudebroguymate @Rares let's do some math. For example, electricity price in Germany is around 0.45$/kWh. Let's review two configurations:
1) UVed 6700 xt that uses 120W and the rest of the system which will use around 80W, 200W total
2) Stock 6700xt that uses around 200W, 80W for the rest of the system, 280W total
Lets account for 240v-12v acdc conversion losses, now its smth like 220W vs 310W from the wall.
Let's say we have enough free time to game 6 hours a day.
Then you're spending 0.6$ a day, 18 bucks a month for the first config and 0.84$ a day, 25 bucks a month for the second one.
Kinda proves your point, the difference of 7 bucks might not be that huge, but, you know, UVing is free and if performance hit is negligible for you, then why not?
@@vinylSummer Thanks for proving my point. I never said UV was anything but awesome, I just don't agree that the energy savings are the main benefit (or a benefit at all).
@@dudebroguymate True that!
I actually made this same decision a few months ago; ended up going with the 6700 XT over the 3060. I've been very happy with my choice. It has handled everything I've thrown at it very well.
well considering it gives you better then 3070 (not 3070ti) in performance... you made the right choice. 3060 isnt even a consideration.
@@ruckus1981 as an owner of a 3060,3070, and 6700xt, the 6700xt does not outperform a 3070 at any resolution above 1080p. Dollar to performance ratio is where it kicks the 3070’s ass though.
I would definitely go for the 6700XT even though I’m a green lover at heart, the extra performance at a higher resolution is a no brainer! Especially because I usually game at 1440P
Meh 4K isnt that big a difference, 3840x2160 - 2560x1440 = 1280x720 pixels. Just go for it with that gpu. I have old tech 2018 strix 2070 $550, so Im stuck on 1440p 144hz.
@@fynkozari9271 If you're talking about performance, that's not a useful way to compare resolutions. When you double the resolution, you actually quadruple the number of pixels, because you're doubling in two dimensions (width and height).3840x2160 is actually 2.2 times as many pixels as 2560x1440. And 4 times as many pixels as 1920x1080.
If you're talking about pixel density, I would say it's also a misleading way of looking at things. 3840 is 1.5*2560. Comparing two monitors of the same size, you're getting 1.5 times as many pixels in each dimension, which can make for a significant improvement to clarity (depending on your monitor size and how far away you sit from it).

AMD is not your friend, don't get why people fanboy over amd, they have fucked ppl over just as much with the waste of silicon called the r5 4500 and rx 6500 xt, driver issues causing black screens with rx 5700 xt etc
AMD has really closed the gap with Greedvidia and in many cases beats their cards. Since AMD announced they are now an official partner/sponsor of OBS Studio I am guessing that AMD is going to start working hard on closing the encode/decoding/production gap as well. This is all good for the market place and consumers.
Their encoders are already close to Nvidia's after the last updates too. The only thing that is remaining is the productivity side and then there would be absolutely no reason to buy Nvidia
@@hamoudy98productions Unfortunately the AMD encoders are way behind in flexibility and the bit rate needed to have comparable picture quality. You end up with a file that is around 30% larger to have the same quality even after post processing with say DaVinci Resolve. Larger files take more resources and time to process. I currently use a Rx 6900 XT in my all AMD system but I have recently used my buddies intel/Nvidia system with a 3090 and the difference is clear. Here's to hoping the gap closes with AV1 and optimizations from OBS.

@@Shane-ur1rk Nobody's forcing anyone to buy from a scalper. If no one ever buys from them, they go out of business.
I just bought 6700XT last week, for $359 in Best Buy... It's the XFX Speedster. After some considerable hassle with drivers, I can say the system is running smoothly now and I'm happy with the overall performance, although, 4k playback tends to get choppy for some reason, something I didn't have an issue with even on my old GTX 1060 3gb
Did you use the Display Driver Uninstaler? You should run that when changing GPU manufacturers especially, to make sure Nvidia drivers are fully gone from windows. When I had some weird problems with my GPU using DDU and reinstaling the same driver made it work a lot better.
@@shepardpolska Haven't used it before. I'll make sure to run it again just in case for any nVidia leftovers. Thanks for the tip!
@@mirzaaljic Windows can also overwrite drivers sometimes with their auto update option or something, might wanna look into it if problems come back. Hopefully it gives you a better experience!
I'd be interested to see the hit in performance difference between the two when using their respective game capture software / streaming to OBS because I feel like NVIDIA might have the upper hand in those scenarios even if the AMD card out performs it on brute force in just gaming!
There is no "hit" to performance at all, i had rtx 3080 and saw 0 hits in performance and switched to 6900xt and also saw 0 hit to performance, literally the same frame-rate in games for both cards (at 1440p).
Sure if You need such a thing , 98% of gamers don't need it , and if You are going for full streaming setup , i doubt You would go middle of the pack for the graphic card at all. So AMD is in clear advantage here.
@@welshe222 your wrong AMD isn’t as good as Nvidia at encoding for obs.
There is for sure a difference.

There are
Literally 1000s of examples on UA-cam of people benchmarking exactly this so not sure how you are only person in world who has zero hit in performance while gaming and encoding… much less the difference in low KB encoding quality the difference is for sure there in favor of Nvenc I have tried both myself Nvenc is superior with Intel Media engine being prob the best option in the future.
Interesting results, I was not expecting the RX6700 XT to perform better with RayTracing than the RTX 3060.
ME TOO.
me too
Not many people interested in raytracing. That is just a business for people to pay more. Well done.
My friends bought nvidia gpu for raytracing but , they are not using now.its taxing the performance. I bought nvidia only for some productive works, But wanted to by amd, but unfortunately its not best at it, amd which gives more for less. amd is catching up in many apps , hope I will get amd next time.
@@45eno Good point. In addition to that, the RX-6700 XT was designed to compete with the RTX-3070 Ti, which would show comparable
performance in gaming, except for RT. Monitors are another issue. I know that my RTX-3070 Ti can make a lot of frames in Doom 2016,
for example, but since my monitor can only display 144 Hz images, anything faster than that can't be seen. Fact is, I can't tell the
difference between 144 Hz and 100 Hz on my Dell 27" 2k monitor, so I run it at 100 Hz and just enjoy gaming.
The 6700XT was a good card @ MSRP, for the current going rate of $300-350 USD it smokes everything else in that price bracket.
This card performs essentially on-par with a 2080ti in rasterization. People were happy to pay $1000+ for those cards not too long ago.
Precisely why I chose it for my 5800X3D build I just completed!
Congrats on 500K 🥳🎉
@Dawid Does Tech Stuff
I recently got this exact same 6700XT, I kept having second thoughts but I'm glad I got it, once I'm done with my finals then I will finally build my first ever PC!!! I cannot wait to enjoy games in 60 FPS and higher because I've been a console player my entire life, the Xbox One from 2013 which is what i've been using the past decade is locked at 30 FPS so games are not smooth at all. I had a question this GPU has 1 HDMI 2.1 port and 3 DisplayPort 1.4 which one is better? I'm thinking of using the HDMI 2.1
What kind of system info are u using to show temps and usage while running games? Thanks
AMD's low market share has me scratching my head to be honest. The 6000 series is amazing.
People are dumb. That's it.
Most people just go with what they know
Because the only thing AMD graphic cards do well is gaming. Nvidia owns the entire creative/productivity market, and more people are buying GPUs for that then they are for gaming.
That could be bugs living in your hair.
It's simple uneducated buyers and brand bias. Lots of people who only buy Nvidia can't accept that an AMD card can have the same performance or more for the same or less money.
Great comparison, just shows how much AMD has improved. 6700XT for the money is a great card!
The 6700XT was originally priced to compete with, and fell just a little shy of, the 3070. Just because AMD has slashed the price a year later isn't really an improvement.
It's more an acknowledgement that their position in the market means they have to lower prices to move their old products, while Nvidia (unfortunately) knows their market position lets them apply an Apple-like price premium.
Interesting! But I don't feel convinced yet, that's without using tech like DLSS so I feel this is not the whole picture. Namely I have a 3060 and run Cyberpunk 2077 with everything maxed (psycho where available) ray tracing included, and thanks to DLSS, I play at "4k" or anyway a good approximation of it, while keeping the FPS above 30, usually mid 40. Would the extra power allow for a similar result? Is FSR 2 good looking enough compared to DLSS? That's the kind of things that I would like to find out to help inform a future upgrade.
I snagged one of these PowerColor Red Devil 6700 XTs on Ebay for $310 shipped a couple of weeks ago. Amazing purchase, and it overclocked to 2.75 GHz core / 17.2Gbps memory for an almost 10% gain with no problems
Was thinking to choose between both cards but after this video I believe i will go for team AMD. The performance looks promising.
amd has nice perfomance, but amd has this thing that it crashes randomly, if you are playing whole day and switching games, your pc will tell you goodbye at some point

I love AMD and their stance in the last few years. Especially when it comes to non-gaming things and the drivers. Maybe there are more problems with AMD drivers, but at least they're open source so you can actually fix them yourselves should you be so inclined, and get the GPU working in non-windows or obscure environments. Like Raspberry Pi's... Which is insane but still... You can do it, while nVidia tried to make a few steps in the right direction, the drivers are still closed source and you have to wait for their devs to fix it or someone to make a custom driver which takes quite a while.
Team Green might have a few advantages, but the power draw of the new nVidia GPUs gives me a mild migraine thinking about how much you could potentially be killing your local power grid when trying to play at 4k. It's kind of sad.
As a owner of a Fury X on legacy drivers, the open source part of them saved me quite a bit. The performence gain I got from Nimitz community made driver really improved performence in all games for me.
Hey which program does Dawid use for the gpu/cpu stats? I just built my first pc and I want to run some benchmarks
6700 xt all the way. the model you got is a very good one too with that big cooler. thats a really good card with 1440p headroom compared to the 3060.
Honestly, as much as I like Nvidia, AMD has really good prices
So true
I kinda need the 3060 for content creations.
but for purely gaming? yeah AMD's 6700xt Satanas is a way to go for a smooth high fps game. making me wish other content creation also uses AMD's hardware and software
I was having trouble running warzone with my 6700XT. It was skipping, frame drops, etc. went into adrenaline, applied RSR, dropped the display resolution down and adjusted the in game Res. Bam, perfect. My friend tried to do the same with his rtx 2070 and it didn’t work as well.
I bought a 6700xt early in 2021 for way more than I should have. But also, I ended up being very happy pairing it with a ryzen 7 5800x. I've changed both parts out by now which was a stupid move because now no one is buying used stuff unless its for pennies.
'Moving swiftly on from my adult feelings' - there are exercises you can do to help with that :) I haven't had an AMD card since they changed their drivers from the equivalent of an index to the entire Encyclopedia Britannica many years ago - but I think it's time I revisited that. The 6700XT performed very well at that price point and, although I might go for higher specced models, it certainly places things in perspective. Thanks for another great video!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ll go check out those exercises you speak of. 😂 Yeah, their drivers can still be a bit buggy but they’ve come a long way.
I gor a 6800 powercolor red dragon, it plays everything on ultra is quieter than my sons 3060 and cooler. I cant beleive how quiet the whole system is really all i can hear is the ssds clicking even when gaming and its watercooled. AMD ARE AMAZING
I just think from a value perspective AMD’s RDNA 2 and upcoming RDNA 3 cards have just been so appealing cause of the price to performance that these cards bring. Even though I upgraded to a 3060ti I kinda regret upgrading back when both AMD and NVIDIA cards were so expensive given how much value I would’ve gotten had I waited ;~;
RDNA2 are very appealing these days, IDK about mid-range since I don't follow that part of market, but you can get 6900 as low as in 650~750 USD range via newegg / amazon / ebay. The only downside is RT performance, but if your choice is 6800-non-XT or below performance class it doesn't matter anyway.
i did an upgrade to my system. got the 6700 xt and a philips 28" 4k monitor for 720 ish, haven't looked back since. the montior is only 60 fps, but can play most if not all the games i play at 55-60 frames. warthunder is well above that.
im still using a 5700 non xt in my current build and looking to upgrade do u recomend picking up a 6800xt in the sales or waiting for the 7800xt to come out i want to switch to 1440p instead of 1080p
I've got the 6800XT version of the Red Devil card and I've got to say it's a fantastic card. You can easily push it to RTX 3090 levels of performance for more than 50 less wattage and much cooler temps (far less bloat and stress on the PCie slot too, being a marginally smaller and lighter card). Very happy to see everyone is finally appreciating how solid RDNA2 is.
Even the 6950XT can't be pushed to 3090 performance...
I bought a 6900XT in late November of 2021, can confirm, it does go above an beyond the 3090 imo, in some cases it ever reaches 3090TI levels of performance which is INSANE considering the price difference.

Hi
This seems to be the right place to ask.
I got a prebuilt PC years ago with a 1070 and ryzen 5 1600x on ASUS Prime x370 pro motherboard. So my question is how to upgrade it. Is the motherboard still fit to go with a ryzen 5 5600x and rtx 3060. or like any other „modern“ stuff.
Thanks for helping :)
I love AMD! Been using them for years. I could only afford the RX 6600 8 GB but it does the job well. Wish AMD would get more credit for their cards.
They uh, do, from people like you sucking them off endlessly on UA-cam and Reddit.
Fanboys suck. Glad you're satisfied with your card though.
I'm always been an AMD fan, they keep their performances even higher with time. Currently I've a 5600XT and I'm fine with it.
I've just built a PC each for my boy and I (our Xmas presents this year). Both of us have a 6750XT (AMD reference for my lad and MSI for me) paired with an AMD 5800X, I have to say I'm really impressed with it from my bit of testing so far.
What software do you use for benchmarking with all the stats?
Excellent video. I was planning on picking up a 3060 next week. Not anymore. I'll be getting the 6700 for sure. Thanks
I have this exact red devil and I’ve always loved it runs everything at 1440p like I want it to
Hey dawid! I was wondering, do you make your own music for the channel? Since I can see electric guitars in the background and whatnot, and most of the music you use indeed has electric guitar.
I just purchased a Power Color RX 6700 XT from Micro Center ($345 US) about a week ago. I only ran the Unigine Superposition and Heaven 4.0 benchmarks on it, but the performance came out between an RTX 3070 Ti and an RTX 3080 in Superposition and slighly better than an RTX 3080 in Heaven 4.0. I had all settings turned up to maximum on both benchmarks and screen resolution was 1080p for both, since I still use an archaic 1080p TV for my display. (It's a living room media PC.) Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the RX 6700 XT, and as a bonus with VSynch on (ie: 60fps locked) the power consumption stays below 120Wh on Horizon Zero Dawn almost all the time and the idle power consumption hovers around 8Wh. Nice to see the comparison even though it really wasn't a fair test. I would have like to see some RT turned on results, but I know that the RT performance from the RX 6000 cards sucks compared to nVidia. (I think the AMDs are about half the RT performance of the nVidia cards, so the 3060 would have likely tied the 6700 XT.)
I got an RTX3080 10gb for £600 on ebay and it was a workstation gpu from what the seller said meaning it should be in good condition. I could only go for the 3080 founders because none of the board partner 3080s would fit in my case with 3000mm gpu clearance. I didn't go for a brand new amd 6000 series just because I really wanted to try out ray tracing in cyberpunk and I use shadow play for game capture. I guess I could use OBS instead but shadow play is just simple and convenient.
Picked up a XFX Swft 6700 XT over Black Friday when it was down to around 330, just couldn't pass it up at that price. That should hold me over until the midrange 7000's or longer.
As someone whose original build included this exact 6700 XT GPU, it is an absolute MONSTER for the price at 1440p.
I upgraded this holiday season to the 6950 XT.
I have the RX6700 xt and did think about the RX6950 xt but I would need a new PSU & monitor so it starts to get pricey
Honestly, back in the day, I always preferred ATI cards for the visual quality they seemed to provide versus Nvidia's offerings. That was a long time ago, but this testing certainly does make me want the 6700xt in this particular case.
