PC specialist are actually a system builder that was all online with custom built PCs but then they started doing a few pre builts that are only sold in currys. So you managed to get probably one of the best systems you could from currys. Also if you don't want to try and squeeze the PC into you carry on luggage you can always send it to me I need an upgrade lol :)
@@cruelcrow7367 I guess he would already be back home it was just a little joke as much as I would like and need a upgrade I would never expect somebody to send me a free pc
@@mkrleza it would be amazing to get such a pc but I have an attachment to my pc I don't have much money and my pc was built out of stuff people didn't want or were throwing away and it's a ok little system the only thing I would like to upgrade is my graphics card I have a 1650 and it's just not quite enough for me and not being able to work due to sickness and of course the rising cost of bills I can't afford a upgrade anytime soon but when I do manage to upgrade my current GPU will be given to a friend as they have a 1030. So I would only accept something if I could also do something good to help somebody else you know pass along the goodness and kindness
PC Specialist have their own website, you can spec your own builds, including for laptops, and are actually reasonably decent. I think currys made a tie-in with them, which is honestly not terrible for anyone involved compared to the normal stuff they stock.
My boss bought a laptop from them. The screen fell out. Turns out they literally use double sided tape to hold laptop screens in, and once they warm up, they can fall out. Their fix was to add more double sided tape.
@@hippopotamus86 a lot of manufactures use double sided tape for holding screens in place, i found this out when i had to do a screen replacement on my msi gf65.
Honestly I've never had an issue with Currys PC World, but I think that's because I know more than the bare minimum required to not get ripped off. That's essential if you're looking to buy or build computers
Ah ok. I thought I read that Currys absorbed Carphone warehouse, Dixons and pc world and is now simply just called Currys in order to end brand confusion and simplify the brand.
@@Entroxity you make a fantastic question, ride crossrail I suppose if you like trains, that was half my trip plan, but apart from that it’s just heat and death atm
I can tell you from experience, if you ever want to upgrade psu from one of these systems. It's a massive pain to cut all the ties without touching the cables.
This is the kind of cable management I imagine in my head before doing my PC build, and then by the time I'm done it looks like an iBuyPower that has been kicked around the warehouse a couple of times.
PCSpecialist are a well known system builder in the UK, I've had a few PCs off them in the past and they do offer options to select all your components. That price for that kit seems decent, but I wonder if you could just have specced out the same with a better case for similar...
@@Ayasira I wonder if the PCS warranty is different to the Curry's one, that might make a big difference. I've dealt with PCS warranty team before and they were very good, couldn't say the same for Curry's. Frankly I'd rather wait an extra few days and get a decent case and no bloatware!
Prices will be similar but the scammers at Currys usually try to trick unsuspecting buyers into purchasing extended warranties as thats where they normally make a lot of money
Likewise. Bought a system from PC Specialist in early 2017, good system and well packed and accessories box came with it which I still have. Last year I bought a similar price gaming system (around 2,500 GBP) from CyberPower UK, both of them are good but I'd say PC Specialist edges it in terms of overall service. The cyber power website allowed me to edit the configuration of a stock build that was ready to go for next day delivery, it also let me ordered a keyboard and mouse combo that wasn't even in stock. Next day when the PC arrived, without the upgraded CPU cooler, or the keyboard and mouse, when I queried it they told me keyboard and mouse were out of stock so refunded me for that, and when I told them it was shipped with a lesser CPU cooler (AIO) than I had paid the extra £40 to upgrade to they refunded me for that also stating that "as it was a stock system the website should not have allowed me to make changes to it", as they just sit in a box sealed ready for dispatch rather than actually being built to a specific order by their fulfilment team. Nothing major, but had I not been tech savvy as such and realised they hadn't upgraded the AIO despite having paid the extra £40 I'd never had queried it, and would have "lost out". Days later they changed their site to prevent people from changing the spec of next day delivery systems (ready to go).
@@TheFlood69 I had the older 10400 / RTX 2060 system in the exact same spec from them 2 years ago. Bought from Currys online and then registered with PCS on their website. They immediately honoured the extended warranty and sorted me out with replacement cooler when the RGB failed (and then when a fan played up later on). Can't fault them at all, no need to deal with Currys, so a win-win.
PC specialist are a very good and reputable company here in the UK, I didn't know that they done pre build's for currys. My grandad has always bought his laptops from PC specialist as he can customise them to his needs and they have great customer service as well as leaving headroom for what upgrades you can actually do with a laptop.
You probably got the best PC pre-built you could have gotten. PC specialist is an amazing company here in the UK and its where I've gotten both of my PC's from since I upgraded from my laptop days. For how much information they give you to setup and just how well they build these systems it is definitely worth having a look at these guys, I do admit it may be a little bit on the expensive end for getting yourself a completely custom built (which is what I got) vs the prebuilts they send off the shelf but I ultimately think it is well worth the money.
Seeing CEX, Currys and PC Specialist in a Dawid video isn't something I'd ever thought I'd see 😂 PC Specialist are brilliant though, even though I prefer to custom build my own PCs, I always send people who are unsure how to put together a PC but have an idea on what they want to PC Specialist
@@clark85 That the shop assistant told him they don't have anything for gaming rather than trying to sell him one of the OEM shitboxes was the biggest surprise for me.
You managed to find a staff member in a Currys?! That usually requires thousands of hours of questing around a shop, avoiding the level 10 Karens complaining about something, and defeating the "give 0 shits" attitude of the few staff members you can find.
Then you gotta hope they actually know about the tech they're talking about. When I was looking at phones one guy told me the Google Pixel had "the latest snapdragon processor" lmao.
@@PHDarren they make extra money on top of a pretty basic salary selling those, also they have targets each month to reach, I went for an interview once and was told exactly that.
As others have said, PC Specialist are a well known & respected system builder in the UK. Had my first PC from them 8 years ago and its still going strong in my brother's room now that I've recently upgraded to the latest and greatest, again from PCS. I'd have zero hesitation recommending them to anyone, but of course buy their pre-config systems rather than customising unless you know what you're looking at. Worth noting the bullguard bloatware seen in the video is optional when purchasing!
So... I actually worked at Curry's and was quite surprised when the start of the video had the PC that I used to recommend fairly often (the better air flow version of the one you bought), which I recommended almost always over other brands due to it's better upgrade paths. The problem with Currys isn't necessarily all of the systems that were sold, it's the fact that barely any of the store colleagues knew what they were talking about when recommending one, which is a massive problem when someone who's buying a prebuilt usually doesn't understand PCs. I was unfortunately the only sales person in the (fairly large) store who really knew anything in depth about computers, laptops, cameras and a few other things we sold, putting a lot of pressure on me to help my colleagues CONSTANTLY! It just goes to show they didn't really care about the service quality, only the fact that we sold extended warranty... It was terrible, against my conscience and a major reason as to why I left that job.
This has always been the case when it comes to PC's and computers in general with Curry's I worked for them late 90s, early 2000s and working in the warehouse of a store, They always dragged my backside out to talk over computers with customers as there was literally no one else in store that could put it in laymen's terms let alone actually know what they were selling. The amusing thing is though is that there was a PC World next door and customers would go there first and then come to us because they did not understand the technical speak that PC World were banging on with.
Exactly this, it was always the same with Maplins too, there'd be that one store colleague that actually knew what they were talking about and the rest were shelf stackers. I actually applied for a job in Maplins years ago as a teenager but didn't get an interview, probably as I didn't have/take my GCSE's. Yet I likely knew more about electronics and computers than the entire shops staff! Frustrating! 😅
Once went out to a customer who needed a GPU installed because the Tech team at Curry’s told them the integrated graphics on their Intel APU had died and didn’t want to pay the £90 they got quoted by them to do it. Got there and even before I installed what they purchased from store I thought I would just do some quick checks myself. Well in less than 5min I found out from the online manual that the post error beeps were memory related, took out the RAM, reseated it and all of a sudden no boot problems. Honestly how hard is it to do the basic checks or is it something they did know but upsold a GPU install along with them playing with the RAM? Who knows.
@@5pr1nk57 it's a shame you weren't in the Newbury area we would have hired you, my team were really good at selling PCs, my best sale was someone who wanted a pre build but wanted a different graphic card so we ordered the system and I replaced the graphics card with the one she wanted, new builds were always my favourite though, still one of the things I miss about that job.
Yeah, I used pcspecialist for my current pc, because tbh I couldn't be bothered to build it again myself and it's amazing, they provided a great experience, I got a two year warranty with them too.
@@lmaoroflcopter Referring to PC repair shops having to repair their PCs. Cable management good, part choice in anything custom questionable at best, their own support poor. Out of the box installation issues are very common as well.
@@ChrisSPCs have purchased 16 laptops from them in the past for work in a batch order. Had two with faulty keyboards. They got sent back and we got two replacements in short order. Ultimately they are the same quality I've had from any other custom system builder that uses clevo base laptops and almost all do. Plastic fantastic cases sure but when I needed 16 laptops with beefy discrete gpu's in, they delivered at just under 2k a piece not 3k from HP or Dell. :/
My experience of PC Specialist systems (bought second hand) have always been pretty positive. They do tend to cheap out on some parts, but they're always well put together with a million zip ties. Definitely one of the better pre-built companies.
Pc specialist is great I have a i9 9900k with a 3080ti from them for 2 years, it started to have a power issue so I created a rma I'm platinum warranty so the picked it up to repair it. Well it got fixed and dpd were delivering it back to me. I live on the first floor of maisonettes the driver dropped my pc down the stairs. I'd never been so excited. With my warranty I'm covered so declined the pc and sent it back, why excited you ask well I just got a full refund just in time for the 4080 I was like a kid in the candy shop.
Got a PC from them yearsss ago, I still have it in use as a living room setup. Glad to see that they're still in the business. The cable management is extremely clean in my case aswell. Good job PC Specialist!
I got one from them 17 years ago and went pretty silly with the setup. SLI and Raid 0 and all that nonsense. It was perfectly fine. They did a good job.
It's not the best price but decent for all new hardware. :) With that said, Curry's likes to con younger kids and young adults who aren't tech savvy; For example, they would sell an i5 CPU laptop with no additional graphics for £500. Lots of kids end up with these things thinking they could play modern games but can't.
Agreed. A friend of mine was sold a PC for gaming by Curry’s which thankfully did have a discrete GPU but only had a 120GB SSD as the boot drive which has filled up rapidly. Another friend was sold a Ryzen 3 integrated graphics laptop for gaming.
It's more of a Currys thing not pc specialist, they have a dedicated website which you can buy from directly, would recommend that route rather than through currys
I think that's more down to the sales colleague not knowing their stuff. They can price match to be competitive and if you get an experienced colleague they will ask what games you play and match something to your needs. I once had a carpenter come in who wanted a pre-build, nice guy and obviously had the coordination to build his own PC. We ended up coming up with a parts list and ordered him what I could. Sent him away with a link to a YT build tutorial that used his case. Saw the guy a few months later and he loves his new build and knows more about PCs for it. He was very pleased
Pc specialist are quite a different organisation from Currys. My eldest has a pc specialist pc that is three years old now. It's been fairly decent but the WiFi adaptor was poor. Luckily easy to swap out.
I really want David to explore the Indian PC market. Just the thought of him rethinking life decisions after seeing some of these obnoxious prices (on amazon and flipkart) would really make an interesting video
I almost bought a PC from Curry's years ago, it was missing a DVD drive, so I thought I'd buy one seperate and install it myself. Only for them to tell me if I opened the PC it was invalidate my warranty!!! They also harass you to high hell in store to take out extended warranties. I hate buying ANYTHING from there for that reason. I just want to buy something and leave like a normal shop.
@@webber9617 It's a pretty stupid warranty though, PC's are literally designed to be opened and have parts taken in and out. They'd have security screws on them if they didn't want you in, not thumb screws where you don't even need a screwdriver to open them.
Also when you go and they do not have the thing that is on display in stock so you just buy online like you should have done in the first place. One good thing I liked was the ability to haggle a bit when buying my Plasma TV off them a few years back along with the price matching.
It's great to see prebuilt gaming pcs actually made well. FWIW- other than the case color, this is very much like the Skytech Gaming Archangel I bought (5600x/3060ti). Even had a Zotac GPU. Cable management was also similar. Only real issue is the odd brand PSU, but it seems to test well. Now that GPUs are coming down people have some decent prebuilt options.
PC World (used to be owned by another electronic retailer Dixons) used to sell components in store, you could buy graphics cards, power supplies etc but since taken over by Currys a few years ago they don't, mainly peripherals. In the UK we used to have PC World and Byte but these days nothing, unless you count single shops for online sellers like Scan. Everything is just really online.

The Currys near me does have some prebuilt in stock with some very unimpressive specs but their selection of peripherals is actually quite okay. It is not amazing, but it is one of the only shops in the UK where you can go in to try keyboards, mice and displays. I do remember asking a staff member whether they stocked Raspberry Pi SBCs. They were very confused, to say the least. And no, they don't stock them.
Had 2 pcs built by pc specialist (Using one now ). Never had a problem with them , build your own on the website is best , they have a good selection of parts .Customer service is second to none , had a prob with setting the fan speed on water cooled unit , sorted in a couple of emails . First pc i had from them was an amd 8350 (i think) 8 or 9 yrs ago , built several since then . but due too getting older now the old eyesight and arthritis makes building a new one a painfull choice. Latest set up is- I7 12700kf z690 rtx 3070 4800 ddr 5 mem Well happy with it.All built from website .
It really seems a decent build. Only thing I would complain about was the closed front, which limited cool air getting in. Overall decent, so 3 grades above what other prebuilds you can get.
That PC seems spot on honestly. I built my own with an EVGA 3060XC and a 10600k, same amount and speed of ram as well. Payed a little less and have some extras, but being already built, that’s not a bad price. Right now, in the summer the GPU does run up around 80 degrees in similar ambient temperatures. Though I have more front air intake and two fans in the front. Overall, I don’t see a single thing to complain about with the PC. Good job Curry’s 👌
Someone else has probably already said this, but Scan doesn't really do prebuilts, they do custom builds which you can fully configure online or in store. It's on the complete other end of the country to London, but its the best store we have in the UK.
i bought my actual gaming pc directly from PC Specialists, and I have to admit, never an issue, pc prebuild greatly, great cable management. They are simply good at what they do
Loved the video David, and hoped you enjoyed it here in the UK. Speaking from my own experience Currys/PC world is absolute garbage BUT PC specialist is my go to system builder if I want/need a prebuild. I however always order from their website directly (take a look at it). You can specify no bloatware (the Bulldog AV is probably a condition of Currys), you always got the all the manuals and free game codes if they came with your GPU. You could even send in your old case and have that used by PC specialist if you wanted. Your eperience can only be likened to going to Walmart to pick up a Rolex.
@@alphadog6155 they really are. Supplied mine with no bloatware except Asus Armoury Crate and Corsair iCUE (Asus system with some Corsair components). Even preinstalled Firefox for me at my request. Plus I was allowed to use my own case and their warranty is pretty decent too. That PC is actually pretty damn amazing. Wow! The price is also VERY VERY good for what you get. I'd pay a little premium for a VERY good put together PC everyday over a crappy put together shitbox for a little less. I am really impressed by this!
I ordered a pc from Currys, waited a week, went to pick it up, and was told it shouldn't have been sold as it no longer existed in their inventory. Suffice to say, I headbutted the manager and swore never to spend a penny in their shops again.
Problem i always have with reviews left by customers on pre built PC's is they are made by people who generally speaking do not have no clue about computers, which leeds the majority negative reviews to blame the product for what is usually good old fashioned user error.
That rear cable management is pretty darn sexy. Looks like a solid build, nice aesthetics & it''ll handle anything at 1080 + probably do ok at 1440 on some. Can't help but feel $1380 USD is a lot to pay for a 3060 system, but whatever's clever.
At the moment, GPUs are much more expensive here in the UK than in the US (usually at least 20-25% more expensive 0 - I'd imagine Canada gets similar pricing to the US.
@@Durbanite2010 Yeah, I spent 11 months on the EVGA waitlist to get a 30 series at MSRP. Gonna tell my kids how I survived the great GPU shortage of the early '20's.
The $1380 includes 20% sales tax. The equivalent store-shelf price in the US is $1150. Yes, there is a reason why they just swap the £ for $, the sales tax is the same as the exchange rate.
You gotta appreciate Dawid being willing to fly to the UK just to knife fight someone for a prebuilt he'd been warned against. Too bad there was nothing to knife fight over in the physical shop.
That has to be one of the better looking pre-builts I've seen. Very tidy, well pacakaged and a good balanced system from a hardware point of view. Even the price wasn't that bad for what you got.
the intake fan is installed in a way that allows it to create a vortex, because the blowing side is not insulated from the sucking side, with the restrictive air intake it might just rotate the same air again and again.
PC Specialist are pretty good. My last two PCs have come from them and aside from the water cooler failing after 5 years (to be expected) I’ve had zero issues for a good price.
Easily the best put together prebuilt i've probably ever seen, amazing what you get when people care about what they're doing. Whomever put that together has a love for PC's and it shows...well done stranger, wherever you are!
I got a pre built from them at the start of the lockdown before the 30 series cards released. Think I paid about £1300. Wasn't bad, it had an i7-9700 with an rtx 2070 super and 16gb of dual channel corsair vengeance. The motherboard was okay but not great, it was an Asus prime h310-plus. Had a 2gb hdd and a 256gb adata m.2. It had an equivalent corsair psu to the one you got there. Main complaint was the case, such little airflow so it used to get very warm but still ran everything decently. Since then I've learned how to build everything myself. Pc specialist aren't that bad as an si but currys are just overpriced (or have been) for individual parts. For someone who doesn't know how to DIY it's not a bad starting point if you want a pre built. Great video btw 👌
it really is the biggest issue, i have the 3070 version of the one dawid bought, i bought a new case and swapped the parts over and now thermals are a lot better. the stock case is a corsair carbide 175r i upgraded to a 5000D.

Reasonably priced 😂 If your even slightly competent you can build an on par or better version of that pc for way cheaper around 750 to 800 buying prebuilds even if there ok is just a huge rip off.
No experience with Currys systems but I have a PC Specialist build from the site, all parts were picked by me and just assembled by them and they did a great Job. I’ve used PC Specialist directly and when it’s time to upgrade my current rig I will be going back. The pricing was great, the build quality was excellent and the whole process was great. I’d really recommend looking into them if you are uk based. The pc is still going strong and works well. The only gripe I had, was with the courier who delivered the system. Dpd. I asked to come down and fetch it as I dealt with the warehouse regularly… to be told nope, it’s staying on the back of the wagon for the entire weekend. Lazy gits couldn’t be arse to unload anything that afternoon.
I think the Curry's experience is more tanked by the customer service more than anything. On another note, I was surprised you'd visited the UK, I guess you did so while us and the EU were under assault by the sun, lol. I hope you enjoyed you trip.
Hi Terry - as we who live here should know - EU ≠ Europe. What has the EU got to do with a European heatwave? (This is a gentle ribbing - so please don't get upset!) - Paul's Hardware in his latest video made the same type of comment.
It looks like a quite decent prebuilt at a good price, some parts are a bit crappy (choked case, low end board), but it works well ! Currys make spicy PCs 😂😂
Yeah, not too bad. Certainly not enthusiast grade, but I would recommend it to a friend so they don't get ripped off with total garbage proprietary parts.
Long time PCS customer and never had an issue with any PC they provided. Did have a CPU overheat/paste issue two years into a PC's life which was solved with a 20 minute chat to their online support and a free return to base for a fix...just a solid builder all round. My most recent PC an i512400f paired with an RX6600 came in cheaper than if I had sourced the parts myself!
I bought my pc from pcspecialist a little over a year ago and cannot recommend them enough, I know absolutely butt fuck nothing about building pcs and needed a custom one built very fair on prices and even a monthly payment method they offer a same day build option which I went for and including shipping took 4 days to get to me. Cable managed the same as in video, tested before shipping they actually care. If anything I'm just happy you put them in a video more people deserve to know about them!
Had this exact experience a few years ago when trying to buy a TV from them. Guy was clueless and kept trying to push gold plated HDMI cables on me for £50, ended up arguing with him when he wouldn't listen and bought the TV elsewhere 🤣
What I really like is when you are looking at two similar products and you ask “which is the better of the two”, and they will answer, you then ask “what makes that one better”, and the answer always invariably boils down to “because it is more expensive so must be better”.
yep they had a bad rep, but with this rebrand they are also retraining staff and hopefully turning things around, yes they don't have a lot of stock in store but you can order next day on the majority of items. as with most businesses in the UK at least this one still has a presence on the high street and not shut down all their stores.
@@Farscape_247 You have to be firm I've found. I did have an attitude most of the time, If I needed to return something, I would take it back and explain my issue and if they tried to palm me off, I'd instantly get an attitude and I wouldn't let up, maybe that makes me petty, but it's worked for me basically every time.
“It’s like Best Buy” is the best way to describe it to someone from North America. Have experienced both I’d say that Best Buy has more for the fans of tech gadgets and Currys has more for for kitchen. The common complaints about CPCW is that if you go in not knowing what you want, you will get poor advice and will most likely be upsold. Then they are very pushy when it comes to selling you extended warranties (think this is because staff have imposed targets). Then finally, if something should go wrong the customer service can be pretty poor.
Working Service Desk In Currys the main issues with Customer Service is people want a replacement product even if its 8 months later theirs has broken, well HP wont pay for the replacement and we cant afford to give people replacements so we need to send it for repair at either our repair center or the manufacturers, depending on what hp wants us to do. If its our repair centre then its like 7-14 days for a full repair. Idk whats unreasonable about that but who the hell am i to tell people we wont give you free stuff constantly White goods manufacturers are assholes tho. They need to send an engineer out and get a special RMA Number, otherwise they wont cover the repair costs. Oh and we NEED the serial number so customers often make 2 trips just to start the process, because they thought the store is just supposed to "handle it" If the manufacturer declines to repair it theres not a lot we can do instore, whether its accidental damage or the product died outside of warranty, or the customer claims it died in warranty and then comes in after, like wtf are we supposed to do?
I recently purchased a PC Specialist gaming PC from Currys with an i7-12700F and Zotac 3060Ti, same case shown in this video. I purchased mine in the store, I didn't want to have it delivered. It's usually the larger (also known as mega) stores which will hold these PC's in stock. I've zero complaints so far, except the initial Bullguard bloatware.
Pro tip: You can set a custom fan curve with Afterburner to make the fans run low RPM when idle or low use and have it ramp up to high or max RPM when hitting high temps. I learned my lesson with my MSI 1070 Gaming X that wouldn't even turn the fans on till 50ish degrees. But with a low RPM even, I can have a GPU down to 29C air-cooled on a cool night, 34C on a hot night (using Kryonaut Extreme thermal paste). Probably not a concern for water-cooled GPUs though.
Hahaha glad to find a fellow sadist! I did the same until the manager got a bit pissy and said if you're not buying anything please don't disrupt the staff! 🤣🤣
@@mixit2413 ah don't mention Dixon's please, school nightmare flashbacks! 🤣 My surname is Dixon, so you can imagine...if you are old enough probably mid-90's Dixon's TV ad, the jingle was "Dixon's, D D D D D Dixon's" so you can imagine all year hearing that 🤣🤣
Hi Dawid, Zotac cards are notorious for cheap fans that die quickly and/or chip and break overtime! Keep an eye on that bad boy! Also been subbed to you for 1 year now and I never miss a video :) Keep up the great work, man!
Been using one for 4 years no problem. Here everybody buys a zotac anyway because of the 5 year warranty and easy RMA process. Gigabyte make me want to smash my skull in with their rma process.
I have a PC Specialist machine and it is the second I have owned. Both have been brilliant, superbly put together, good value and highly customisable. They have professionals putting their systems together - in fact for a bespoke order you actually know the name of the guy/gal who assembled it and keep you informed as to the progress of the build. No problems recommending them at all.
PC Specialist are definitely solid prebuilders. I bought an Alphasync PC from eBuyer online in December 2020 that I've been really pleased with too. Much more high end, 10850k, 3090 setup but the cable management was immaculate, they only used top end components throughout, Corsair h115i water cooler, great case, Corsair Obsidian 500D SE with a Commander Pro for stellar RGB. It wasn't cheap, but pricing the parts individually it was slightly cheaper to buy from them than buying all the parts myself, and I got it next day delivered.
It's surprising how balanced this system was. The single bad thing is that hot box of a case, the OEM PC market hates mesh fronts with a passion. 26 °C is not that high for Europe, I have 32 °C at times in my apartment. This summer is hell on Earth.
UK resident here, our highest official recorded temp while we got melted by the sun was 40.3C (105F) but if you were actually in the sun or indoors (we have no A.C. and our buildings are designed to absorb and retain heat) you'd be looking at 43+ outdoors and some homes and offices were over 50C (122F) all day long.
@@gregbarnes4083 lol, yep agree, the temp in my black car that was parked in the sun all day was 58 degrees, had to wear mittens to hold the wheel. no aircon as this needs replacement gas.
@@gregbarnes4083 Yep last week was not nice at all. Fortunately, I closed all the windows and curtains in my house Monday morning (to prevent heat from entering the house, yet it still peaked at 37°C upstairs.
Shockingly competent pre-built? Shipped on time? From Curry's?! I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Have you double checked and made sure you still have both your kidneys?
i don't see any issues with the service or the system that was purchased. for a first time buyer into the gaming pc market, this would be fantastic service and performance
I got a PCSpecialist PC for my birthday in 2012 and since then I’ve effectively upgraded that one PC part by part into the PC I have today. Started with an i7-3770 + AMD HD7870, now a 5900x + RTX3090
I bought a custom built PC from PC Specialist literally a decade ago. It was spectacularly well built, and still runs fabulously, admittedly with an updated graphics card (1060 from the 660ti I got it with), and more RAM (32GB up from 8GB). I used it as a daily driver until last week when I finally built a new one myself. Great machines.
All thermometers in the UK max out at 26C... this is because the temperature never used to exceed that temperature (and of course as it is the limit of our temperature sensing capabilities never does.) as a result of temperatures not being able to be recorded above this temperature we do not bother having air conditioning as 26C is still reasonably comfortable.
got me a pc Specialist pc to upgrade my old 4tg gen and gtx 970, took a few months as the 30's were out of stock everywhere, ended up downgrading from a 3080 to a 3070 which they had a delivery of, it was shipped a couple of days later. amazing build, the watercooler fell over after a couple of months though, (horrible grating noise on the fan) and they upgraded me to the next one up for free no quibbles. really good experience.
Very well put together, and you really can't argue with the price point. Perhaps swap the case for something with better airflow. If for some odd reason I ever needed a pre-built I would buy from them.
You were pretty lucky, PC Specialist is a respected prebuilt company here in the UK, I've used them a bit over the years for myself and some friends / family and I've never had a complaint
PC specialist are good! I had one of their desktop CPU powered laptops with a RTX2080 in it and it was a solid system. Had a small fault with wifi aerial and they shipped a replacement wifi card no questions asked next day. Top quality systems, excellent customer service. Properly configured. Plus they know what they're talking about. Curry's, on the other hand, is a sh**house corporation, you got lucky with this system, if it was Curry's branded it would be single channel green PCB ram, stock coolers, Super-happy-fun-time power supplies and "golden dragon" e-waste peripherals galore.
I have spec'd 3 systems from pc specialist with the latest being a 9950x with a 4080super 64gb 5600 dual channel and just upgraded the bios, i like these guys
I brought a PC direct from PC Specialist a few years ago. It was the equivalent of your PC at the time more or less - GTX 1060 6gb and I5. After hundreds of hours use has performed perfectly and will still play current titles at lower settings. I think PC specialist stuff is pretty decent.
Pretty sure that case is a Corsair 220T with a modified front panel. Not surprising considering all the other Corsair components found throughout. Very impressed with the cable management as this case is not the easiest to do cables at all.
PC specialist isn't a sub brand of Currys its is own company that sells their prebuilts there. they also have their own website. the prebuilts you have to worry about are the ones on amazon and ebay. PC specialist is more of a more premium system builder in the UK. As for currys, the normie acer and dell prebuilts can be found anywhere but Currys do not have their own brand of prebuilt gaming PCs. I think that you should buy prebuilts from other UK electronics stores like BOX or eBuyer as I have not seen the quality of those prebuilts before as they don't have physical stores unlike currys where I can go see the item for myself.
8:38 The RAM is "ver 4.31". That means its chips are Samsung B-die! For those who don't know, Samsung B-die is the best DDR4 chip you can get. Unless you're very unlucky, it should have very good overclocking performance, and it's very likely that it would work at much lower latency than its XMP profile. I'm very interested to see what this PC can do if you tune the RAM to its maximum potential. Good Samsung B-die chips can run at DDR4-4000 18-18-18-36, or even better, if you keep them relatively cool and give them enough voltage. The chips on this 3200 CL16 kit will probably be relatively bad compared to most other Samsung B-die, but you should still be able to reduce latency timings significantly. I'd be very surprised if you can't bring it down to 16-16-16-32 at the very least. Apart from the poorly-ventilated PC case, everything in this PC is as good as it possibly could have been. I'm genuinely impressed. Exceptional cable management, a great CPU cooler, and the best 2x8GB DDR4-3200 CL16 RAM you can buy.
Bought a pre-built from them back in 2020, I7-10700, 16GB 2400mhz Ram, RTX270S (Zotac Mini), 512gb M.2SSD and 2TB HDD and that was about £1400. It's still going strong my main complaint is that the Graphics card is regularly hitting 80-85° even with an updated fan curve where the fans ramp to 100% around 78° Also bought 2 monitors from them, one for me and one for my partner and when mine had issues, their customer support was great getting it replaced and even price matching them as they went on sale shortly after I got em, so got given the sale price
As a rule of thumb for people in the UK, you really want to get a pc/components from scan or Cex if you want a reliable (pretty much non-ebay) way of knowing that your pc has been built well or your components are actually working and have a waranty
As someone who actually has a PCSpecialist rig sat on my desk, they're impeccable for the price, alot less VD on my build when I got it approx 3 years ago, came with a great case and a great board to upgrade off of, even came with an at the time decent entry level accessory bundle (Acer Nitro 75hz monitor bundle, and a logitech bundle which came with the prodigy Membrane keeb, G203 and a pretty decent headset) all for around £1100, admittedly the specs weren't incredible at stock for a i3-9100f and a 1650 but I've now got it upgrade to a i7-9700 and a 3060ti. Good company 😌
I spent a fortune 3 years ago on my pc from PC Specialist and have never looked back. Great service too. Only down side is its not the easiest website to order components from.

Hi from London UK, wow you actually liked it, so glad you did. Hope you had a great time over here. All the best keep up the good work old bean.
This has always been the case when it comes to PC's and computers in general with Curry's
I worked for them late 90s, early 2000s and working in the warehouse of a store, They always dragged my backside out to talk over computers with customers as there was literally no one else in store that could put it in laymen's terms let alone actually know what they were selling.
Who knows.
It's funny walking around Currys and hearing some of the stuff the staff come out with regarding PCs and other tech when talking to customers.

With that said, Curry's likes to con younger kids and young adults who aren't tech savvy;
For example, they would sell an i5 CPU laptop with no additional graphics for £500.
I did exactly this when I was younger lmao. AMD A8 not dedicated graphics for £459 thinking it could game. Absolute piece of shit
I think that's more down to the sales colleague not knowing their stuff. They can price match to be competitive and if you get an experienced colleague they will ask what games you play and match something to your needs.

Right now, in the summer the GPU does run up around 80 degrees in similar ambient temperatures. Though I have more front air intake and two fans in the front.
Overall, I don’t see a single thing to complain about with the PC. Good job Curry’s 👌
Curry’s didn’t make it. PC Specialist did. They’re an excellent system builder company.
I’m surprised it didn’t shiv you for your extensive gts 450 collection, given all I’ve heard.
Welcome back Dawid, missed you so much I didn't even try to skip through the sponsor part this time!
Damn they seem impressive for a prebuilt company
I got a pc from pc specialist a year or so ago and it was very well built
Bulldog is actually quite a decent antivirus and light on the system compared with Mcafee and Norton.
So long as you don't change the CPU, case, motherboard, or BIOS (without prior authorisation) you can change your system without voiding your warranty so long as your upgrade doesn't break the PC.
i own a vortex ST-R Pc Specialist from curry pc world it cost me 1400 and switch's between 1400-1550 i have an i7 11th gen and a 3060ti with 2tb hd and 512gb ssd it runs really good and i recommend getting this one or the upgraded twin which i believe is the vortex g70 with a 3070 which is what i recommend as its like 1600pounds for it:)
It would have been funny as heck watching Dawid assuming a ready stance, knife in one hand, watching all over the place for potential opponents
@@NoxTrickster the case I had originally was a coolermaster masterbox which had a tiny bit of ventilation along the edges of the front panel. I changed it into a coolermaster td500 mesh, then saw GN do a review on the corsair 5000D airflow so got that 🤣 such a good case. Upgraded everything else in it now too so don't actually have any of the currys pc left 🤣
@@Sebb2310 it really is a good case, got a few upgrades to left to get and install but I’ll be pretty much there as well 🤣
@@NoxTrickster nice 👌 mine's pretty much as I want it finally, I just want the white version of my aio to match the build but it's not released in the UK yet 😅
@@Sebb2310 what aio do you have?
I bought the model up from this with the 3070 about 8 months ago and it has been great even through our latest heatwave . The customer service team at pc specialists are helpful and friendly which is a really refreshing change
sounds like you and i got a similar setup, ive been really enjoying the performance
Thats actually excellent cable management, Id go as far to say as some of the best from a pre build I have actually seen. ( I build this exact system minus different case on friday for a customer and it performs surprisingly well ! )
Sry
I have a Currys budget prebuild which was worth £599 it's quite upgraded now but I kept having stutter issues on bigger games, the only issues I have still is high CPU usage but in my opinion the air flow is amazing
I mean its technically nothing to do with Curries, PC Specialist is pretty much the go to company in the UK for good reliable pre builds. Yes of course its overpriced but that's all prebuilds.
A Currys prebuilt being value for money and not exploding? Well, that's it, the final sign of the apocalypse is upon us.
It's not value for money. You can get a 3060 ti here for £370 (MSRP IK RIGHT) and a 5600 for about £170.
@@abd-yn4vr problem is he used a 12400f therefor this makes no sens since performance and price aren’t 100% the same and some amd motherboard are cheaper so you can’t compare it like that
@@lougou7698 I dunno, he had a gigabyte b660 board, and amd's equivalent would be a b550 board. Those can be had on both sides for decent pricing. Pretty even. And the 12400f is decently priced, from what I've seen.
@@lougou7698 Bro they're literally the same tho.
The ryzen 5600x is slightly better ig.
Its a rip off for the same price as that im getting my pc upgraded
Seems like a really reasonably priced PC given the specs, seems like it runs good out of the box. Well done.
Reasonably priced 😂
If your even slightly competent you can build an on par or better version of that pc for way cheaper around 750 to 800 buying prebuilds even if there ok is just a huge rip off.
No experience with Currys systems but I have a PC Specialist build from the site, all parts were picked by me and just assembled by them and they did a great Job. Cable managed very well and running amazing, they even optimised the fans and airflow with the AIO radiator as an added bonus. 3080TI runs at 70-80 when gaming at max with RT on and I9-12900k runs max 60 and idles around 29. Overall amazing.
You should do videos about gaming PCs from different countries in the world. Would be interesting to see what gaming PC they have in North Korea and Afghanistan.
After seeing that cable management I’m trying to decide to get motivated and fix mine orrrrrr lite it on fire. Rgb hub, fan hub, 360mm aio also with rgb fans, etc. yeah I started out actually trying to cable manage, ended up stuffing it in the back cause I wanted to get on 😂
I can't believe you are in London and haven't contacted me for beers and snacks. In other news Currys has a bad rep in the UK as they sold the wankiest PC's the earth has ever experienced in Packard Bell prebuilts. It's a tough climb up from those depths, but in all fairness, PCSpecialist are not awful. We just take a long time to forgive in the UK.
"I went to London"
Oh no...
"To go to a curries"
Oh no!!!
"Now in the meantime I did stumble across a CEX"
OH NO!!!!!
"But they did have some "deals" on used graphics cards"
NO, DAWID NO! STOP, PLEASE!
I don't know if I can watch more of this horror!
London is alright no better than new york and certainly no worse its multinatonal city
Ive bought quite a lot from cex, one huge advantage is they offer a 2 year warranty on everything, including older stuff. Just picked up a 7970 for my son's pc recently from them, 40quid and 2 years warranty was a great deal.
@@RK-zf1jm Londinistan. No need to go abroad, just go to London, it's very stabby. I thought about going to London once but worried about getting stabbed. All part and parcel of living in a big city according to the Mayor (who looks a bit stabby himself). No, I'll skip Londinistan.
@@aragorn084 it is very good I had a optiplex I bought from there after a year the psu failed so I went into store they said they will either find a equivalent system or better and if the can't I get a full refund. In the end I got a full refund. Not complaining with using a pc for 1 year for free
I live a few minutes away from the PC Specialist building funnily enough, been in a few times. Lovely and professional people with a great attitude to building pcs
Dpd. It arrived at my local courier warehouse on the Friday. I asked to come down and fetch it as I dealt with the warehouse regularly… to be told nope, it’s staying on the back of the wagon for the entire weekend. Lazy gits couldn’t be arse to unload anything that afternoon.
BRO YOU WERE LITERALLY 10 MIND AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE LMAOO
You went into a Curry's and nobody tried to sell you "the best HDMI cable ever" for £200? You got off easy bud. Must be the friendly Canadian accent.
@@nheather Yeah, better for them and their level of commission 😂
Even worse than that I had some pc world grifter try to sell me a "gold plated optical cable"!
@@SSJfraz Curry's staff don't earn any commission
I think the reason why everyone told you not to buy it is because currys has a terrible reputation for customer service.
yep they had a bad rep, but with this rebrand they are also retraining staff and hopefully turning things around, yes they don't have a lot of stock in store but you can order next day on the majority of items. as with most businesses in the UK at least this one still has a presence on the high street and not shut down all their stores.
Idk whats unreasonable about that but who the hell am i to tell people we wont give you free stuff constantly
White goods manufacturers are assholes tho. They need to send an engineer out and get a special RMA Number, otherwise they wont cover the repair costs. Oh and we NEED the serial number so customers often make 2 trips just to start the process, because they thought the store is just supposed to "handle it"
If the manufacturer declines to repair it theres not a lot we can do instore, whether its accidental damage or the product died outside of warranty, or the customer claims it died in warranty and then comes in after, like wtf are we supposed to do?
I used to go to Currys pc world many years ago to ask the staff complicated tech questions back in the day, fun times 😂
Sadist 😅😅😂😂
Hahaha glad to find a fellow sadist! I did the same until the manager got a bit pissy and said if you're not buying anything please don't disrupt the staff! 🤣🤣

Here everybody buys a zotac anyway because of the 5 year warranty and easy RMA process.

That's a damn well-built system. I'm impressed

As a first timer watching one of your videos I'm am happy to see you visited my home of raynes park on your travels. Hope you enjoyed it
Very well put together, and you really can't argue with the price point.
Those Clevos are beasts, seriously.

The RAM is "ver 4.31".
4:38 I actually left the plastic on my machine (top and bottom) stops dust from getting inside the machine.
Bought a pre-built from them back in 2020, I7-10700, 16GB 2400mhz Ram, RTX270S (Zotac Mini), 512gb M.2SSD and 2TB HDD and that was about £1400.
It's still going strong my main complaint is that the Graphics card is regularly hitting 80-85° even with an updated fan curve where the fans ramp to 100% around 78°
Also bought 2 monitors from them, one for me and one for my partner and when mine had issues, their customer support was great getting it replaced and even price matching them as they went on sale shortly after I got em, so got given the sale price
Bought my PC Specialist pre-build from Currys 2 years ago and its still going strong. Never had a single issue with it.
