I discovered your channnel a few weeks ago : I'm impressed by the quality of your job .... Go on and and give us the best of your art and knowledges. Best regards from France
Thanks for all the videos on the different jigs you have recently. I've just recently started woodworking and will definitely be using this design for future projects!!! Keep up the awesome material and videos I will be sure to keep watching as often as you upload content :)
Another nicely done video. You might want to mention to always reference the same side of the router base to ensure the reference line matches. When replacing the router base it could have been ever so slightly off center. When routing smaller sides like you did in this video I would also use a backer to prevent any blowout . Did you use a square to ensure they were at 90 degrees to the jig.
For me it isn‘t clear how you measure the exact thickness of the male dovetail joints (dark parts). The videos always are a pleasure to watch. Greetings from Germany.
Before I make final cuts I make several test cuts with extra boards. It takes 3 or 4 times. First a little thicker and gradually to exact thickness. It's not that difficult.
Thanks for watching sir. Rectangular base can slide more easily in guided pocket than circular-short straight combined base. Sorry about my poor English.
Ply isn't the best material to use for a sliding jig, it often doesn't give the best results when needing material to slide freely. You keep doing dangerous techniques, I may unsubscribe from your videos soon, though I do like your projects.
You definitely scare me with the table saw. You can use a block of wood to space between your fence and work to use the miter gauge, and not have to lift the blade into the work. As long as you use the same block (say 20mm or any width) the measurement stays the same, no kickback worries. Nice work anyway!
What material is better and still cost effective, and machines easily with woodworking tools? Not trying to be contradictory just educate myself further. I think waxing the insides of the jig and the base of the router would help make it slide easier. or even adding uhmw tape??
@@Belg1970 Hey, waxing may help, it's often done by many woodworkers. The ply isn't good because it doesn't have a surface that slips well. Something like uhmw, or acrylic.
have you ever noticed that watching woodworking videos have a relaxing effect on you? thank you for the video
Great compliment.
Thank you very much sir.
I really admire Juvenile woodworking, it has the same calming effect on me. It's even better than medications :)
Thanks very much sir.
