- Johnny Davis was selected with the tenth overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. He was seen as a potential star backcourt mate for Bradley Beal, and a player with really solid scoring upside, and defensive ability. Yet 65 games into the Wizards’ seasons, Davis has only played 62 total minutes, compared to over 500 minutes in the g-league. It was clear from the start of his time with the Wizards that he wasn’t an NBA level player. He averaged 8 points per game in the summer league for the Wizards, shooting an abysmal 29% from the field before being shut down after just three games. It would’ve been fine if Davis couldn’t be a starter in year one. But he not only fell behind Monte Morris for the starting role next to Beal, he fell behind guards like Jordan Goodwin, and Delon Wright on the depth chart, neither of whom had a draft status anywhere near Davis. The Wizards have been desperate for guard help all season, but he was simply unplayable. He’s been playing better in the g-league as of late, and he could still save his NBA career. But as of right now, Johnny Davis looks like one of the worst lottery selections of all time. He wasn't just bad, he hasn’t even been worth keeping on the NBA roster for most of the season. So is Davis the worst lottery pick of all-time?

Don’t speak so soon. He was a late bloomer in college, so that shows you he won’t mind working hard to get better. But so far this conversation is relevant by his play, but as a wizards fan we don’t groom young players well
Pain as a wizards fan. We finally got a solid core 3 of players with beal porzingis and kuzma, but with health issues and still a lack of talent, we really needed to nail this draft. And yet again, bust

Anthony benett isn’t top 5 ? Weird. And also we have to keep in mind that the five mention are in the top 3 or top 2 of their draft so for me they are bigger busy than Davis, even if of course a top 10 draft should be at least a solid starter.
Is the worst performing player in this year's recruitment. I don't think he will play in the nba Johnny the dog Davis is now Johnny the poodle Davis. Don't know what happened to him. Its the effort that gets me. Their is no effort its like someone took his mojo. I can deal with it if he was putting up shots and missing or fouling a lot through actions. But it's zero nothing its 4 against 5 nothing.

Dude, you're talking about busts with a 19 year old rookie? You don't want to wait maybe 2 more years at least before you jump to such a drastic conclusion??? Even if he only averages 5 ppg this year that would be 5 more than 99.9% of all 19 year Olds to ever play in the league.
