When I was growiing mine out I would go get the sides faded because its the top that needs to be the longest and even out with the sides. Thats how I kept those side pieces and duck tail in the back neat. Because they do drive you insane 🙃 Also I used oil to keep it to a certain side instead of pomade.
Been a sub for a long time but I don't comment often and I wasn't seeing anything from you in a while. I got a pixie cut at age 3 and mostly kept it except when I was married. He didn't like short hair. So as soon as we divorced I went back to a pixie. At 30 I was with friends and husband #2 and they dared me to buz it all off with no guard, my friend even said she would pay me $50 if I went through with it. When she came over the next day thinking I would back out she was shocked to see I had everything set up. She tried to just give me the money and when I said nope this is happening she cried while she did it. Honestly it only takes a couple months to be back to my normal length. A couple yrs later I was a correction officer in arizona. It gets insanely hot there and prison doesn't have ac. So I shaved it off and kept it shaved for several years. When I left that work to work as a social worker in a locked psych facility I went back to the pixie to look more professional. It didn't last because I couldn't find anyone who would cut my pixie short enough so the clippers came out. Every now and then I will get this itch to grow it a bit but then I get frustrated because honestly I am just not a fan of hair. I definitely get like imposter syndrome. Which is going on right now. I have managed to grow it to the longest length in 20+yrs. I hate it. I feel like a soccer mom. Like I am trying to be something I'm not. Not that I even know what I am. Edgy, flakey hippie? Even my son is telling me to shave it. When I shave it I tend to dye it purple. Partly because I love it and partly because I get irritated with strangers asking me if I'm sick. No, I'm not sick, I'm just a bad ass
Oooo girl. I’ve tried for an entire year to grow out my buzz cut but I end up loosing patience and grab my clippers. The longest I’ve grown it out was 1 month 😆 I’ve also learned that bleaching it as it’s growing out, helps disguise the length but I know it’s there and the cow licks are real! Good luck! I’ll be watching! 🍀
I feel your pain. I tried to grow out my buzz cut.... NOT!!! I just couldn't do it when in the shower shampooing and I felt tangles.... NO NO... I had to get a comb...NO NO... then more styling products.... NO NO.. So back to buzz, bleached hair and im so happy 😊
Girl! I just started growing mine out in March I understand the the weird feelings💕 you look beautiful tho as always❤️ I’m also so thankful to find another strong female who goes against cultural norms in beauty.
Gabby, you have ALOT more will power than I do. Iam on my fourth try. I think bald is a way of life, not a hairstyle. Ive had a buzz cut since 2017, and every time I have tried to grow it out, I just couldn't. Iam at a compromise now, it's in a faux hawk. I still have the buzzed short sides and some of the back, but the top is finally getting about #7 or 8 length on the clipper. I still get to feel that amazingly soft #1 feeling, and experience the breeze of the day, the warmth of the sun, the softness of my pillow, oh, sorry, I went a little off the rails. But that just proves it, Im a buzz cut junkie. And I wish you well dear girl, but, like you said, you'll be back. Till then, your a stronger gal than me, have fun with the difference, and stay safe, be well❤blessings
You are amazing- whatever the hair whatever the hat or earrings you rock them all - amazing n beautiful Im enjoying playing about with my buzz too As my hubby says - whats the difference between a good & a bad haircut? (A few weeks) Who cares Try it - laugh about it if you dont like it - cover it up with a cool hat or head scarf Itll grow My fave colour in life is purple I own alot of purple towels. Jackets and tops etc - i dyed my hair purple alot for many years - but now Ive found the courage in my in securest time of life to buzz my hair and ..... changed the purple to smokey dark grey - you know what? I love it I can have a change -( im going grey anyway) so why not dye it to the shade grey i want..and still wear purple and purple accessories and get best both worlds. You inspire me and many others Thank you 💜 🌈 stay strong 💪🏼 stay safe x
The growing out struggle is real. I decided to go to a no guard in October then went back to a #1 guard and am growing it out. I may have to have my husband hide the clippers because I'm so tempted to buzz it off again. He is 6ft 8in tall so he can hide it where I cannot see it or reach it.
I absolutely love you and all of your videos! I'm shaving mine tomorrow and I can't wait to be bald again! I can relate to you so much about the mental health, thanks for your videos lovely!!!
Oh it only gets better lol. I'm 6 months out, and I fade my sides but I'm tempted to go back. Seriously I miss how easy it was. Best of luck in this.🙂👍
I’ve been growing mine since September. It’s gone fast for me though. You look great! I can start to comb mine and push it to the side and make a part.
U suit it I'm nearly at a year of growing mine out an right now I have a mullet /afro my hair is so bushy right now thank god for clip on ponytails an hair spray to slick my hair back xxx
It's still a look and you're rocking it. :). I'm about a month in and it's just a new way of looking. I think it's totally fine. You're just not used to it! Where are those hoops from? They are the PERFECT size and the PERFECT thickness! xoxo
Way to go ! It looks great, there will be more awkward phases to come but once you get to about two months ish you can do finger waves with gel if you like that style and it makes it look less awkward and more high fashion 😊 I grew mine out for four months then remembered that I hate the feeling of hair on my ears and shaved it again. Good luck!
Girl I know your pain. I'm at 4 months growing out my buzzcut and it's so hard. I almost gave in and cut my hair. But I'm giving myself until February which is my birthday month to see how I feel. You look beautiful by the way, hang in there. Also I plan to sign up for a session with you through your site. Take care, stay safe.
I love the length it is right now, better than the number one. You can always trim your sides and let the top be a little longer. You look great just like it is. 🥰🌺🌹
You look beautiful!!👍👍☺️ A long buzz cut like this is definitely a style 😉 I cut mine like this every time LOL and I think it looks good, that is not the awkward stage yet 😅 You will look awesome with a pixie!!👌
Lol..I can't believe you lasted a month without buzzing it.😅👏🏻👏🏻I made the transition to a supershort, somewhat of a styleless pixie~ ish look after almost 3 full months✊🏻..So hard to go that long without buzzing it for me,I'm still in the awkward stage ..I hope after month 4 it looks like something. You look great in the hats and wrap BTW.💖👑
I'm 3 months into my hell lol. Didn't want to bleach anymore. I threw a golden brown on for the transitioning and use a whole lotta gel. Ugggh this is pure torture.😜😜😜😄👍
There are going to be several awkward stages! Haha. Yours is looking so good though! You're so pretty. I love the black hat! I found a lace turban like thing that I love when I'm dressing up, it's not heavy and will help cover the annoying stage but not give you a headache. Oh, last thing, the crown of your head is going to start to make you regret your choices! The bangs, sides and everything will start looking grown and awesome, and then you'll have that awful bird look with feathers sticking up! 😂 Some hair wax will help.
I’ve tried to grow mine out about 6 times over the past 8 years and have YET to be successful. The longest I got was 6 months ..... from about month 3 - 8 is REALLY hard and awkward looking so prepare yourself lol
I don't want you to grow out your hair Nooooooooooo I am 45 black women and I've been bald since I was 23 years old and everything I feel sown or I want to put braids in - I always go back to you You remind me everyday how beautiful you are and women can be without hair You sooooo stunning If I watch you - I am going to put braids in--ohhhh dear Ok Ok Ok
I’m 2 months and 1 week into growing mine out and it’s driving me CRAZYYYY.
