Yes, if you're arriving late, make sure you are prepared with Brunei dollars and a mobile line that has a roaming option. Usually when it's that late, only taxis are available and they're not cheap.
Thank you for subscribing! 🙂 Our experience was that while we were queuing in the immigration, the person who was being interviewed by the immigration officer was asked how long they were staying in Brunei and how much money they had. The lady said 10 days and she has 30,000 pesos (around 530 USD). She also said that she has credit card. The immigration officer told her that her money is not enough for a 10 day stay in Brunei and only gave her 5 days. So she has to exit Brunei after 5 days. We were surprised to hear that they were that strict. And even though us Filipinos are allowed a 14 day visa free stay in Brunei, they only stamped transit in our passport because we said we are leaving Brunei the following day. That means we can't extend our stay there even if we change our mind
