What he said is right. Sharia is very hard to implement because of the criteria, the severe punishments if proven only serves as a way to deter people from engaging in sinful activities…
yes it is true, In Indonesia only one province implements that yet still most cases went to civil court because it is extremely difficult to follow those Sharia court requirement 100%
@@ilhamrj2599It is true only one province “officially” allows sharia law, but what about non-official sharia laws in the rest of the country, what about the adultery laws in the new criminal code. It is time as Indonesians we unite and at least try to remove corporal punishment / private canings in the Aceh province, bcs it violates Indonesian national law within UNCAT that does not allow corporal punishments at all. Hello! As a bruneian, Some people in my class says that they are "gay" Which is okay if they are just saying it for a joke, but when they take it seriously is a next level, Every year, The Sultan gave 1000 dollars to the people who got lucky and happens to be having no dad ( It is called "Anak Yatim" ) And not gonna lie, I do like living in Brunei it is a very beautiful country, And I have learned that Brunei has a surprisingly History *Takes out a social studies textbook* How was the kingdom of brunei founded? Thousands of years ago, people travelled by sea and sailed to Borneo on canoes and rafts. They brought with them new kinds if food, tools weapons and skills such as pottery and weaving These people settled in Borneo and lived in villages. Then, they built the first kingdom in Borneo. Some of the settlerd lived near the mouth of the Brunei River and built an ancient kindom. This kingdom had many names given to it by people from different parts of the world. A chinese called Brunei Po'li or Po'ni. A Javanese trader called Brunei Buruneng. A arabic trader called Brunei Sribuza 10 likes = part 2

People can swim there. the wooden house is getting old. and the house stand/pole to support the house, is made from wood, it can fall if didn't fix. no one dare to fix the house stand under water nowadays, cuz there's crocodiles. that's why they build modern house using cement. that's why u can see some house pole is made from cement

So basically...i was born in Brunei because my family was out here working, however i am fully completely British. i have recently in the last two years moved back to Brunei and have found it more of a home than the uk ever was. It's an amazing country with many great people here and i would love to stay but Sandy am moving back to the uk this summer ☹️.

So quick question ? Why do most brunei lives overseas instead of brunei despite having that much wealth. I even heard everything is paid by the government if you are brunei
I think because since the countries wealth is mostly oil and that'll run out eventually, soo people move because of that. But then also because there's not many things to do here in terms of entertainment, you can go over the boarder to Miri in Malaysia witch has some more things to do (i haven't been much 😅)
In brunei we do have an application which is the “Dart Rider” it is basically an application to find a taxi online which is more flexible where you can choose ur type of vehicle and what time you want to be picked up so yeah other than thank you for coming to brunei🇧🇳

Thanks for showing us a place that gets alot of bad press in Australia due to human rights issues. It's great to see you were treated well and the hotel even gave you a King sized bed. It's great to see you respect the people and you be rewarded o. Return
I have to say the tour guide is very knowledgeable and quite articulate in his communication skill. Excellent tour guide i must say. Great job bro👍 and for the transportation issue.. Brunei actually has its own Uber app known as Dart. Very convenient and cheaper than Taxi. Im surprised you guys didn't know about it. I thought they advertised well at the airport arrival hall & hotels. @Dart..please look into it.🤣
Yes...fascinating and forthcoming....and so knowledgeable!
Alhamdulillah and many thank you i must say for this great compliment from you and many others too!
I wish every tourist feels safe, happy and enjoy of their staying vacation to Brunei.

You know to be honest. I ve been to Brunei last November 2022. One thing I like about the country is that its quiet, hospitable people and peaceful. Yes there is a strict law in there and as long as you follow those rules, there will be no problems. Note, I been dreaming working here at Brunei and I hope someday I will be hired.
very cultured vloggers! first video watched, already loved it! subscribing and looking forward for your future milestones!

It is time.
Such a wonderful trip and such a wonderful message. Thank you Oscar and Dan. We love you!
Brunei is generally safe, just don’t do anything that might upset them.

Thank you for stopping by in Brunei! Im glad you guys had a great time here! Much love! ❤
Hello! As a bruneian, Some people in my class says that they are "gay" Which is okay if they are just
saying it for a joke, but when they take it seriously is a next level, Every year, The Sultan gave 1000 dollars to the people who got lucky and happens to be having no dad ( It is called "Anak Yatim" ) And not gonna lie, I do like living in Brunei it is a very beautiful country, And I have learned that Brunei has a surprisingly History
*Takes out a social studies textbook*
How was the kingdom of brunei founded?
Thousands of years ago, people travelled by sea and sailed to Borneo on canoes and rafts. They brought with them new kinds if food, tools weapons and skills such as pottery and weaving
These people settled in Borneo and lived in villages.
A arabic trader called Brunei Sribuza

Im also a Bruneian! And my best friend Amanda is in Anak Yatim because her dad passed away when she was 4 yrs old.
Edit: the things you said are true!
Loved it 🎉though I was very surprised with this choice destination and sceptical 🤨
So glad you have decided to show us Brunei 🇧🇳

Most shots of proboscis monkeys I've seen in a Brunei travel blog; I'm equally fascinated because I've never seen one myself (as a Bruneian) 😂 Well done you guys were super lucky!
And thats a fact
If u want to go n see the monkeys, u can do it even without the boats. Just got to Makam Di Luba.
OMG BRUNEI IS MY HOME COUNTRY THANK YOU FOR VISITING BRUNEI(sorry that I talk in caps because my keyboard is broken)

Theyre learning alot about our country and we are very much welcome everyone here warmly.
fun fact: 50 years ago, there's no crocodile in the water village.
The video is so clear. What camera are using? I'm going to Brunie this Monday. This clip is really helpful. The room seems small though, Wonder if they can add an extra bed.
It's all filmed on iPhone!
You are welcome to come which you call home.. Bring a business, and you own a family oriented country.. We welcome foreigners to stay and bring positivity and business here
So quick question ? Why do most brunei lives overseas instead of brunei despite having that much wealth. I even heard everything is paid by the government if you are brunei
I think because since the countries wealth is mostly oil and that'll run out eventually, soo people move because of that. But then also because there's not many things to do here in terms of entertainment, you can go over the boarder to Miri in Malaysia witch has some more things to do (i haven't been much 😅)
@@AbdiqanniMHL that's just my... educated guess
@@kasy_sad5874 Cool bruh .... your lucky enough to be bruneian
Omg! You guys were here and I didn’t even know. Darnnnnn. Happy holidays y’all
In brunei we do have an application which is the “Dart Rider” it is basically an application to find a taxi online which is more flexible where you can choose ur type of vehicle and what time you want to be picked up so yeah other than thank you for coming to brunei🇧🇳
Fantastic video. Thanks so much for going!

You guys should definetly go to Bhutan. A small country nested between India and China with incredible views, culture and nature.
yess
Yes I would love to see that!
I have been there and it is amazing, Would also go to Tibet (assuming it open up).
@@travelmoreworkless I always wanted to but it would be quite exppensive (the 250$ tax you pay for every day you spend there) and it seems tricky geting there in the first place. What flights did you need to take to get to Bhutan ?
@@krunoslavkovacec1842 Druk Air but I was living in Singapore so easy. It is expensive but the $250 (I think it is now 300) goes to accomodation, guide etc.
Should definitely use Dart next time. Taxis are very hard to get in Brunei and buses are extremely unreliable (ie the timing schedule).
Nice video of my country. Thanks for coming. 😊
I went to medical school in the '90's with second cousin to Sultan of Brunei Hishammarudin Barrarudin who is now a public health doctor in Singapore - If you're venturing back there I could help with his contacts ? Great review Guys !
The video is awesome, but the disclaimer... wow, guys, so wise, so respectful, so sweet of you. Congrats for country 99! Can't wait for the big 100 day!
Thank you for visiting Brunei Darussalam Oskar and Dan. Stay Safe and Healthy.
Brunei is still okay. Not as conservative as Saudi Arabia. Many expats living in Brunei.
And it is Southeast Asia anyway, we are "open" people, we are not hostile towards western people.
If you notice, there is almost noone wearing mask there. It is in contrast in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Some people are still going to remind you to wear your mask.
A lot of us Bruneians still wear masks though
there is actually so much more to see compared to the old town area you guys were in. Unfortunately Brunei is the type of place where you need a local to actually show you around since the more interesting parts are usually in people's houses or small business enclaves away from the public (and government's eye).
You guy miss to visit oil and gas in kuala belait... Next trip you should visit kuala belait and other district too hihi... you re always welcome to our country
Damn, I missed your video highlighting MY COUNTRY. I started following your channel after you posted the Saudi Arabia episode. You guys have an interesting view on the world given the polarity and animosity we see in the world every day. Thank you for visiting and presenting an unbiased view from Westerners' perspective.
Thank you Muhammad!
Theres actually a lovely park with a waterfall just walking distance from ur hotel, definitely worth a mention in any video. Gorgeous waterfall right in the middle of Bandar(town).

You're right about people being people. When traveling we always long for human connection. I think you handled some of the political/ social points effectively with subtlety.

Thank you for coming to Brunei Darussalam♥️🇧🇳
Brunei is essentially the Asian version of Saudi Arabia…
Absolute monarchy, apparent non existent LGBT+ community, sharia law, natural resources completely controlled by the monarchy, but the general population are very open and welcoming, which makes all the above somewhat more tolerable.
even many westerner dislike LGBT+ lmao. seriously, even science don't see the benefit in LGBTQ + .
Brunei does have an LGBT+ community but it's not so much to begin with anyway, it's very lax that nobody really gives a care in the world.
@@smileyhehehe "Science" agrees with LGBTs. There might be no "benefit", but these people exist. Regardless if you like it or not.
