Great video. I was thinking about relocating to Dubai but I don’t think it’s the right place personally. Mainly the heat, and the high living cost/fines offset the zero tax benefits.
Regarding dress code, many years ago security and police use to hand out fines for not following the dress code especially in malls. Unfortunately that’s gone out of the window because the less dressy people are bringing in money for the country and so rules have been bent for them. This is unfortunate because UAE is a family friendly country and people just don’t care that there are kids around or those who are coming from cultures who frown upon this dress sense. They should bring back the restrictions for public spaces.
Thanks for watching! It really depends on what your goals, like investing or end-user, and much more. You can contact me on my details above 😊 I’ll also be posting videos with investing advice!
This was helpful. The reason we only hear good things about Dubai is because there are rules to enforce that people don't speak shit. Also your cost analysis was helpful. I assumed that I would need 10-12 lakh INR / year ($14000/year) if I were to live cheaply. But yeah this clarifies in help in making decision. The place seems to be great if you are making well over $200k/year.
Hi there, thanks for the video. Do you have any idea if indians are facing any rejections in getting work permits because there it has been happening other GCC countries?
Hi Rizwana. Informative vlog indeed! Please could you share a detailed vlog on how to apply for a genuine job in Dubai. which are the good and trusted job search sites? thanks.
Also while I agree, ideally, it's better you move out with a job secured which in real estate is easy to do as a Brit. Pretty much all other industries (unless specialist/high demand) you'll need to be there. For instance in marketing/digital etc, all recruiters say "Let us know when you're here" or "Must be UAE based." So you end up having no choice but to jump, it's possible to live on the bare minimum for 6 months and hustle. Unfortunately for a lot of roles, that's the reality.
The easiest job to get is simply a real estate agent role. It’s because they’re commission based, meaning they don’t have to pay you a salary. If you under perform for several months, then they’ll simply let you go, it’s no loss to them cos they didn’t invest anything into you except a visa for a few months. I’ll be doing a whole video about Real Estate soon since that’s my job :)
@@ShotsMerkzAll Real estate broker, most are commission only roles but some smaller companies will agree for a small base salary, especially if you have estate agency experience in the UK. That's how I first went to Dubai, I had a small base salary from a newer company and stayed in a maids room. Then I moved from real estate to marketing after a few years.
My favorite part of what you said, is the SAFETY! This is the way that life everywhere should be, but unfortunately Paris, London, New York, Chicago, Barcelona, Sweden, etc have let their cities go to crap. So unsafe to be in any of these places. This needs to reverse course asap! Countries, and cultures need to regain their culture and communities back. Poland, and Hungary and two countries that have held out, and keep priority on safety of their citizens!
90% of the UAE's population consists of foreigners, many of whom are from cultures that are completely different from Emirati culture. It's hilarious how some East Europeans complain about "foreigners" and yet they are/were dying to move to multicultural places like the UK (until Brexit put a stop to that) and the UAE.
Very insightful and something I have thought about but having heard what you have said, it is completely out of the question I moved to Thailand from the uk 3 years ago and the lifestyle, freedom, cost of living and visa situation is considerably more palatable. Although sometimes I do consider other countries like Malaysia

Hi thank you for watching. Dubai has a lot more to offer and you can have a very social lifestyle, hence it's full of tourists. Beach clubs, dining, events etc. Dubai has adopted much more western culture here, and it's a lot busier and louder compared to those other cities and countries.
Sorry but you need to check out MMI and African and Eastern. You don’t need to pay for an alcohol license, it’s completely free and lasts two years. The VAT was cut from 20% to either zero or 5%. The alcohol here is ridiculously cheap, especially spirits as the duty is just charged on the volume of the bottle. I’ve bought Barefoot wine here at £2.88 a bottle rate, £7.50 in Tesco UK. Also why would you rent a Sunny when you can buy a car here with about 12 months rental for the same price?
Hi! They actually reinstated a new alcohol tax on Jan 1st to 30% Also I specifically referred to real estate agents renting a Sunny as we have to depend on savings and its uncertain how long that could be for, we can’t just get a car on finance as we can’t provide 3-6 months payslips of steady income. That’s why most agents don’t buy a car until at least a year in.
@@rizwanasales I just got an offer from African and Eastern. Smirnoff worked out at £14 a litre. Slightly dearer than duty free in Manchester. But you don’t need to spend any money on a license , and apart from the Vat increase, no duty tax. It seems that when the vat got dropped to zero, only MMI and African +Eastern reduced the prices. All the rest just pocketed the difference.

That's so terrible. Maybe you find solice in the fact that obscenity in Europe likely ends up with rape and murder while the administration will not protect you nor provide justice
I was there 1980 to 1989 - brilliant time and you had to make your own entertainment and make friends. I returned on business regularly over the next 25 years, then was relocated back to dubai in 2016 for 2 years. What a difference, both good and bad. Luckily I embraced the changes and actually enjoyed those 2 years but it was oh so different from the Dubai I knew.
Thank you for your content about dubai but honestly speaking who has lived here for 8 years the good part you have said or lets say the list of good things you have said are actually the privilege you get by following the strict regulations you said at the end which you count as bad part, if there was no strict rules on wreck-less driving rules, fines, alcohol ban, and some of other rules we wouldn’t be enjoying living in the safest country in the world, so yes these so called bad things you said about are the foundations and necessary precautions to built this mega city of the world Thank you
100% 🙌🙌 this way should be model anywhere in the world and not criticised!! Some would argue ohh but we have freedom to say and do whatever we want.. well yes u have..but staying loyal to this idealistic way to embrace the very concept of freedom brought u guys to not have anymore the freedom to live at all.. since u compromised the peace of a fair and just environment with the freedom to get drunk, share your rants on social media while feeling afraid to go out at anytime of the day and feeling also blessed to have found your way back home safe and sound when u dare to get out..not even mentioning the uncomfortable feeling to have more than average since u may be bribed and harassed by whoever decided that that is not fair for them!! May God bless Dubai and may Dubai become a model for the entire world 🌍
I’d say those fine are hidden cost which will get u eventually n make u live unhealthy. I’ve also here’d that during Ramadan ur not allowed to drink water in public. A little harsh.
How do you find a job, I’ve spend most of my career life in the civil services, got a leadership and management qualifications, accountant and finance graduate, which sites and how do I find my perfect role?
Hi thanks for watching! I had never sold real estate before but I had a very successful +5 years selling cars and set a lot of records during this! So I had transferable skills. Real estate here doesn’t usually offer a salary, it’s 100% commission based so companies are willing to take you on without direct experience in the industry.
@@rizwanasales hi, I just came home from my Dubai vacation, it was better than I expected to be honest. Your video was very interesting, could you share how much is your commission when you sell a property? Thanks 😊

What do you mean rent is expensive its waaaaaaay cheaper than london or Los angeles and new york if usa is cheaper than dubai ill move there tomorow from dubai where i am now
Don’t see any bad things in Dubai by your explanation. They are doing good job keeping city clean, secure for rich as well as poor labor. By strict rules even people who spreading dirty areas in own country are treating Dubai very nicely- it’s all because of loyal fines.
Why are you lying about the dress code? When I was in Dubai last year, women had mini skirts, tights, hot pants, belly free… every where (Marina, Downtown, Malls) It seems like women are free to wear whatever they want (except in holy places and governmental offices)
Hey. Thanks for the video. I'm not looking to move to Dubai but I'm still curious about how competitive wages are over there? How do they compare to other global cities like New York or London or Singapore? Would it make sense as a way to boost someones career?
Thanks for watching! Wages vary a lot depending on the industry, but fields like real estate, finance, and tech, 0 tax earnings make them very competitive compared to those cities. Even if the Gross salary is lower in Dubai, the Net Pay is often higher! For ambitious professionals - defo a great place to grow your career 😊
USA isn’t the best place to live right now. There’s a lack of moral values. Indecency and lack of respect. The country is divided politically. Not the best place to raise a family. It’s not the safest country to live. Hopefully with the new president there will be some good changes. That’s the only positive to living here, the president can serve eight years maximum. So there’s hope for change. I wouldn’t recommend to move here now.
Do people still have to leg it to the airport when they loose their job because it’s illegal to have debt and no way of paying it off? (say if you have a mortgage). There used to be rows of abandoned cars at the airport where people had to flee back home
If you got 20k in fines in 1 month, you are an awful awful driver haha. Pay attention to speed changes, pay attention to signs, don't change lanes thru solid lines, don't be on your phone while driving and you'll be fine.
Taxi drivers are the worst in Dubai… they have no discipline, so I hope they are getting fined massively! Taxi drivers also run scams by taking you the long way home! If Dubai is serious about their image, they need to address this issue.
Good video. Love visiting Dubai but living there is another matter. As you say the social media has "tilted" the reality a little bit by only showing the fast cars and lush life . When people from uk visit they stay in 5 star hotels and think everyday is a piece of cake. May be they need ro go and see the people in streets of deira or old dubai and see its not all 5star for everyone and drinking martinits everyday. I love dubai and we visit every year but once you are established in uk. You are giving up a lot to start a new life in dubai . If you are young and early in career then it makes more sense. Most real estate or sales jobs there are commission only . I know few girls that went there and trying that there . Takes a year to get going. Best wishes to anyone why wants to try but know there will be challenges. *excuse spellings as tying from tablet
The best you'll get is 2-2.5k single bedroom condo in neighboring cities like Sharjah, or Ajman. But then you'll have to prepare yourself for a 1.5 hr long commute to work in Dubai. If you live and work in Shj or any of the other northern emirates, you'll be living the dream, as your housing and commute times will be a lot more reasonable.
I'll tell you what's absolutely ridiculous, someone coming to a foreign country and not abiding by the traffic rules which then results in fines of Dhs 20,000 in one month. I mean, how stupid can you be?
She’s exaggerating about the fines as they are literally half the cost she mentioned (parking 150, speeding 600 dirhams minimum). Everything else is exactly as she mentioned.
Dubai is the 21st century equivalent of Dick Whittington's London, except you have NO CHANCE of becoming Lord Mayor. 😢😮 Used to like Cyclone in the 90s. Free entry for men and ladies had to pay! Is it still there? (Edit: Closed permanently).
@autodigitvlogs it's a matter of preference. Most people that don't appreciate grey, wet, cold, windy UK weather will most definitely feel weather in the Emirates is perfect! I will take the oven in June to September over the 2 weeks of summer in that same period in the UK!

That's so terrible. Maybe you find solice in the fact that obscenity in Europe likely ends up with rape and murder while the administration will not protect you nor provide justice
There’s crime everywhere
Absolutly correct info
Thank you for watching and welcome to the channel! 😄
Very beautiful country. I love it.
I miss the old Dubai... The one from the 80s & 90s 👴🏽
But it was so dead then
@@potato1084 You must be relatively new in the UAE ... those were the best of times... Things weren't so expensive and we lived like royalty back then
Same , I raised in Dubai when everything was too cheap and plenty of opportunities
Thank you for your content about dubai but honestly speaking who has lived here for 8 years the good part you have said or lets say the list of good things you have said are actually the privilege you get by following the strict regulations you said at the end which you count as bad part, if there was no strict rules on wreck-less driving rules, fines, alcohol ban, and some of other rules we wouldn’t be enjoying living in the safest country in the world, so yes these so called bad things you said about are the foundations and necessary precautions to built this mega city of the world
Thank you
100% 🙌🙌 this way should be model anywhere in the world and not criticised!!
Great informative video/ thanks
Glad it was helpful!
How do you find a job, I’ve spend most of my career life in the civil services, got a leadership and management qualifications, accountant and finance graduate, which sites and how do I find my perfect role?
Thanks for your question! I’ll be posting a video soon covering all of this
I’m marketing professional looking to relocate to UAE, would appreciate any hits and tips to get marketing leadership role in UAE
Hi I'm trying to move to Dubai. I have some questions about my business. Would you be able to help?
hey, thanks for the video! can I ask how many years of experience in your field did you have before moving to dubai?
Hi thanks for watching! I had never sold real estate before but I had a very successful +5 years selling cars and set a lot of records during this! So I had transferable skills.
Real estate here doesn’t usually offer a salary, it’s 100% commission based so companies are willing to take you on without direct experience in the industry.
@@rizwanasales hi, I just came home from my Dubai vacation, it was better than I expected to be honest. Your video was very interesting, could you share how much is your commission when you sell a property? Thanks 😊
@@mayaa9120hi thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed Dubai! Yes sure I’ll be making a video soon on Dubai real estate, advice, and realistic earnings 😊
Wow … shes beautiful … am going to Dubai
She is definitely attractive.
What is over all cost of living including everything for one bed flat with car
I’ll be breaking this down in an upcoming video!
Why are you lying about the dress code?
When I was in Dubai last year, women had mini skirts, tights, hot pants, belly free… every where (Marina, Downtown, Malls)
It seems like women are free to wear whatever they want (except in holy places and governmental offices)
Hence I said it’s not as strict as people think, but to be mindful in certain areas
Exactly my opinion. I was there in march.
Could you please share, how do you show on your linkedin that you are specifically looking for roles in Dubai?
Hi! Yes I just posted a Shorts tutorial showing how you can do this ☺
Thanks for the insightful video. Can you advise me on how to set up my LinkedIn Profile so I can apply for and get jobs in Dubai?
You’re welcome! Yes I’ll be posting a video soon but for now you can check out the Shorts I posted about LinkedIn to get started 🚀
Honestly, if you get so many fines, you should consider taking some driving lessons again. I am in Dubai since 3 years and never had any fines.
Hey. Thanks for the video. I'm not looking to move to Dubai but I'm still curious about how competitive wages are over there? How do they compare to other global cities like New York or London or Singapore? Would it make sense as a way to boost someones career?
Depends on your skin colour. If white, the pack your bags now
Thanks for watching!
@rizwanasales ok that's interesting. This is the cool thing about new UA-camrs, they actually respond 😁 Appreciate it!

Is anybody from or lived in the USA and moved to dubai?, im from dubai and moving to miami or orlando for a new life. Your thoughts please🙏

Yeah it’s cos they were speeding 🫢

Is using VPN legal there?
Yes as long as it’s used for legitimate personal/ business purposes
Taxi drivers are the worst in Dubai… they have no discipline, so I hope they are getting fined massively! Taxi drivers also run scams by taking you the long way home! If Dubai is serious about their image, they need to address this issue.
Tell me about it, some of the most dangerous drivers on the road!
omg this happened to me as well! ironic bc the dude was blasting Quran but scamming me by taking the long route to my hotel !
Most of the taxi drivers are from in Pakistan or Bangladesh and we all know how people drive in those countries.
@@bintkaf😂
@@ramiz1116 the worst taxi drivers in my experience, were from Africa… just totally reckless!

Thanks for your comment, I fully agree with that! You have to be willing to start from scratch.
Hi i would appreciate if you could help me with getting the job
I’ll be dropping a video soon with clear insights to getting a job, so keep an eye out! What field of work are you in?
So you’re telling me there’s no 1 bedroom condo for 1500 to 1900 ? In a decent area?
lol.. nope
Need your help to find 1BHK
Sure you can contact me on the details in the description box
I'll tell you what's absolutely ridiculous, someone coming to a foreign country and not abiding by the traffic rules which then results in fines of Dhs 20,000 in one month. I mean, how stupid can you be?
Yeah but doesn't stop Friday night joy riders. Supercars hitting speeds downtown.
She’s exaggerating about the fines as they are literally half the cost she mentioned (parking 150, speeding 600 dirhams minimum). Everything else is exactly as she mentioned.
Thanks for this video! I will never go there. You must be nervous just making this video 👮👮😅😅
Hi thanks for watching! Hahah honestly it really is a great place to live, but yes I was thinking I have to be careful 😂

Dubai is the 21st century equivalent of Dick Whittington's London, except you have NO CHANCE of becoming Lord Mayor. 😢😮
Used to like Cyclone in the 90s. Free entry for men and ladies had to pay! Is it still there? (Edit: Closed permanently).
As anemarti the camera part is realll, i found a camera hiding behind a street sign😂
"Amazing weather"??? Dubai?? Ok...
For 4 months....i went in December...at least in UK you can go out 12 months of the year 😂
@autodigitvlogs it's a matter of preference. Most people that don't appreciate grey, wet, cold, windy UK weather will most definitely feel weather in the Emirates is perfect! I will take the oven in June to September over the 2 weeks of summer in that same period in the UK!
