God bless her 🙏🏼love every moment of her pasteles recipe will for sure try to make her way can’t have a thanksgiving or Christmas holiday without and can’t wait for that pernil recipe bless her hands and May she have more years to come from the bronx Til next time💋❤️🙋🏻♀️
I just have to say: la olla que tu Mami guisa la carne, esa olla es de un set muy classico de los boricuas 1950's. Brings tears to my eyes. I love your recipe. God Bless you.
Looks sooo delicious. I know someone asked about the ingredients and you suggested they watch the video, pausing to view them, however, if its the items on the counter along side the meat, Im still unsure of the veggies. I made out the green-reddish bell peppers , I think I saw purple onions (bag sorta covering), I'm not sure, but there may have been habaneros (the orange peppers)?????; or are they sweet orange mini bell peppers? I saw cilantro, unless it was parsley, which, PR, its cilantro, so good on that, but did I see mangoes?? naw?? Oh, is that lettuce, cabbage?? Sorry to have to ask but Id rather know for sure, rather than guess.
Thank you for the much appreciated compliments and for asking about the ingredients. Go to the 6:27 minutes mark an you'll see a list of ingredients. Enjoy!
Where is the Calabaza pumpkin in your massa? What about Yautia??? What about Plantains? Potato?? There should’ve been a lot more in that massa than just green banana!!
Thank you for commenting. Like southern bar-b-que, everybody has their way of making sauces and rubs. Your Ingredients sound delicious! This is her recipe...if she left some things out, at 85yo, you may want to give her a pass.
@@tomsawyer199 Tom, because on UA-cam I get to watch anything I want, when I want, in a touch of a button! Since you are so deeply concerned, I like to see how other Puerto Rican’s make their Pasteles at home, this one just so happen to throw me off the most. Now the question is, can you homemake it yourself or do you need someone to make it for you too, Tom? lmfao” 😀
I recall these pots came with the apartment my parents rented when the previous tenants left them. They were black from years of use and my mom soaked them overnight and hand scrubbed them to a near new shine. She knew their value.
Actually they're Green Bananas...I mistakenly refer to them as Plantains. As for quantity, I think I mention about 30 Bananas, but you can cut the recipe in half.
@@Daiv1341 thank you for replying so fast, my grandma passed away 2008 I'm 31 now. I still remember asking her how to make this and she would say it's too complicated. I see your mom, reminds me of my grandmother, this seems so overwhelming, but I'm determined to take the challenge for my family. So thank you for this.
She’s such a beautiful soul 🥰 This video makes me miss my grandmother who raised me from birth. She’s now with the angels flying high but I miss her knowledge and her cooking most of all. My grandmother was Hawaiian Portuguese and she could cook, soul food, Puerto Rican food, Filipino food, American food, Chinese. Miss it so much. Thank you for this well explained video. I’m thinking of turning my thanksgiving into a Puerto Rican one 🇵🇷 god bless you aunty and god bless you 🙏🏾❤️
